LTC botnets?

LTC mining on CPU is now harder with recent rise of network, however CPUs still giving relatively nice hashrate.
This good profitability to compute on high number on CPUs seems to have attracted some "bad guys".
If you look at some of the top miners hashrate it really look like some kind of botnet mining (hashrate out of this world, you could count how many GPUs and electricity they need).
Is it possible to do something against that, or is it some other explanation of their hashrate?

Could be the case that a few server farms that were mining Bitcoins have decided to switch to LTC, which could account for the large hash rates of a sole user. Considering there are a few that are listed on places like LTC Global and a couple of other security exchanges, it doesn't really surprise me if that's the case.

How many servers do you think are in these farms?

We have about 30 servers at work that aren't used overnight...

 Im a "normal" guy and I have 12 mHash/s myself (GPU) and I have no botnet and I pay for my electricity... So it is possible for sure...

I know for a fact that there are people mining with botnets because there are a couple of people (whose names I will not reveal) who have told me that they use a botnet for LTC mining.


If you want to know who it is, watch the top contributors in the pools. If their hashrates fluctuate LARGELY (like sometimes they 2.1 MH/s and then other times they might have less than 200 KH/s), they are most likely using a botnet.

Can someone please post a link to the mining rig photo thread for this guy? Think about all of the people that are heavily invested in gpu for bitcoin mining. ASIC is going to destroy the profitability for bitcoin gpu miners. They need to go somewhere.......
