There was a statement regarding Bitcoin Core and Blockstream on news.bitcoin.com did anyone happen to capture it? Its no longer available. I think this was the culprit.

The dip happen around 10's after i write this (so i was asking if i miss something cause it was still higher 1200)

Anyway I was ready for it from 3 days ago.
Lets see how it will recover.

Yup, good if you had any fiat money around.

No I don't have any fiat, just a stop loss at 1194 then buy again at 1170 when i saw the dip with sms alert.

Quote
The price dipped from 1147 EUR to 1106 EUR , this is +/- $50

1229-1165=64$ :)
Joking, you were right.

Well, as i can't look at the chart until sunday i open sell at 1218$, maybe do nothing would be better...

By the way, thanks again, I'll send you tips when I'll be a little bit less poor.

Reason for the drop of $60 ? :

BTC spiked bigtime when Wang Chun was posting that Bitcoin wont fork and cant fork.
This guy has some serious influence.

EDIT: beware that he posted this on 13 april 7:15 a.m, dont get distraced by the date on the screenshot.
45 min later BTC dropped.

this guy is seriously messing with everything price related these days. and the worst (or funny) party is that it seems to be effective.

it is not yet so long after his little stunt about the litecoin and that stupid tweet (not so different than this one) about SegWit on litecoin and him not being so sure about it!

it makes you wonder how much he is making from these price swings.

true. This guy first created a lot of SegWit hype, and now he's saying that he doesnt support it on BTC. He's just so obvious in his trading strategy. So he sold a couple days ago and bought back in at the current dip. This is one of the reasons why I hate centralized mining. They have taken Bitcoin as a hostile for now, disrupting its progress and they can fully create a pump by their own. Only thing that they need to do is spreading FUD or SegWit hype because of their miningpower.

That looks quite serious. Thanks for posting this. So when the miners wont support SegWit nor BU, scaling wouldnt be solved before december 2017 what will result in a HF right? Looks like the community wont come togheter and that they are all choosing different sides without compromise. Yes decentralisation, it would be fun they said. I think that I am one of the few that wants both SegWit and 2MB blocks. Satisfy both BU and SegWit, make bitcoin stronger and bugfree. Just develop BU and SegWit untill december so that its ready for implementation. Why cant they just work together and stop this crazy war about power? Spam attacks, AsicBoost, SegWit altcoin implementation to make statements and I could go on like this for a while. BTC can only succeed if we stop this madness. It makes me sad that we talk more often about Jihan Wu nowadays than the worldwide adoption of Bitcoin

about bitcoin :

- adoption +
- movingaverages +
- historica patterns and dubble w bottom : +
- fundamentals -
- Altcoin weak hands( dump before others do to ) + FOMO +

If BTC hold this level altcoin money will come in. Big alts are bleeding and they have NO bullish support!, high risk investment right now, dont buy any altcoins that already topped/pumped.

Only total bottomed out like ETC, I cant risk it because of short term dump signals.

I am 90% BTC rightnow.
(10 % fiat waiting for entrypoints)

Trading advice :

BTC : hodl
Alts : SELL

Dont entry BTC now unless its for alts.

I am paciently waiting for BTC to buy more, big dip will come after this huge upmove.
Because of historical patterns $1400-$1500 is very likely in short term for BTC, but its not going to hold.

Looks like we will break ATH soon and crash after reaching new hights because of FUD, just like the pattern tells.

Of-topic : BTC doesnt even need scaling. 14 000 000 BTC mined rightnow, max 21 000 000 - 2 000 000 coins lost = max of 19 000 000+/- coins. We can handle this right?
Transactions cant double from here so if BTC can handle this we are ok right?

Anyway happy trading all.

So if i understand you good iT can sink more then its now

In near future yes its likely that we have more drops because the scaling issue isnt solved at all so this recovery could be a hot air bubble because nothing in the time between the drop and now about scaling has changed. Maybe the SegWit or BU % of the mined blocks has changed but not significantly to have a soft or hardfork in near future. This issue has to be solved before december or we will hardfork what will result in a huge pricedrop.

This is why there is an altcoin bubble rightnow.
I dont expect a hardfork yet so I keep holding my coins.
Anyway some more FUD will result in more drops to come.
No FUD or bullish news = further recovery
Recovery is more likely than dropping further.

I call bottom (for now) at the $1100 level. It's completely normal that the price is moving up and down as long as pools keep toying with Bitcoin. It boggles my mind that we are being trolled by such few entities, while the far larger majority continues to 'suffer'. Bad thing is that there isn't an end in sight. It will result in more people using alts as hedge, and thus contribute to the alt bubble that will only grow larger.

Couldnt say it any better.
I stay far away from alts because I dont like them and I dont see how they add value compared to bitcoin except the anonymous ones. When Bitcoin will implement smart contracts Ethereum will lose a significant part of its marketcap. Just a matter of time. I am not even going to start about coins like Ripple or Dash.

I also think that a bottom is around 1000 EUR ($1069)
Looks like we have the same toughts about the market!
But do you expect 500k at the end of 2030 because of some Snapchat investor said so? Roll Eyes
I think that this whole scaling debate will continue for months and that it will unfolt itself this year before december, at least I hope so.

Using alts as a hedge is obvious.
BTC up -> ETH down
BTC down -> ETH up

Same with Dash, ZEC etc etc..

Monero is one of the few that moves along with bitcoin. (for now)

Monero is undervalued IMO because it is one of the few altcoins that offer something bitcoin does not ... fungibility. Hard forks are scheduled twice yearly for upgrades so no drama there. It is a fair coin whose price and market cap is being held back by just a couple problems. There is no Android wallet yet and no hardware wallet. You probably want to have some XMR in your portfolio before those problems are fixed.

YORK's MACD strategy :

Keep an eye on the MACD for the upcoming days guys.

Dump is likely when the blue line dives under the grey one.

Advice:

Keep holding unless MACD changes
Dont buy until MACD turns more bullish again

The dip.
Happy trading all.

BTC SHORT TERM:

Small pullback ahead? (+/-$50)

-Indicators saying yes
-Beartrap allert
-Uptrent will continue

Dont try to catch a falling knife because the risks are to big right now, so hold.

Happy trading all!

You are contradicting yourself. You are discouraging everyone from buying to avoid "catching a falling knife" but you encourage them to hold because you are saying the trend going up will resume. Would it not be better to buy will the price is dipping and hold more if the price is going up again?

A bear trap is really a signal to "buy the dips".
I only expected a $50 trap. The RR ratio is to high for that. Thats why its better to watch and enjoy. I dont contradict myself, that would make life really really dificult.

That does not change anything. If you think the trend up will continue and you encourage everyone to hold then surely buying now is not "catching a falling knife". It is "buying the dips" because you expect the value to go up.

this has been the strategy all along Smiley
i never liked trading bitcoin for some weird reason of selling it for fiat,... but the altcoin trading has been very kind to me so far! the FUD in here means they get pumped over there and the rise over here means there will be a dump over there (at least 99% of the times that their market is ready).
