Any organization needs a structure. Also, what may seem ridiculous to you may seem perfectly normal to someone else.
This is the structure we have chosen, it may change further down the line,  who knows but for now it works.
Also we are not believing everything we read, the references of the material I gave are from the Santa Fe Institute and a Ph.D. holder in astrophysics from Princeton University.
