Paxful has been providing this service to over 500,000 people from all across the globe, and this number is increasing by the day. https://s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com/webhostedfiles/liiinnee.png

WHO WE ARE?

Paxful was established on January 2015 by a group of bitcoin enthusiasts with a diverse background ranging from development of financial infrastructures to full stack web development, system administrators and technical system developers. When it comes to Security and scalability, we focus on the bigger picture. You can see our team on the Paxful about page. Since then we have continued to provide our marketplace to customers all around the world. People come to our marketplace due to its simple, diverse range of method by which you can buy and/or sell Bitcoins. We have provided our service to nearly half a million people from all across the world. Furthermore, we have an outstanding customer service base working around the clock that are always eager to answer any questions or enquiries which you may have.

You can see our sales portfolio categorised based on region on CoinDance.

OUR SOLUTION

Paxful is supported and operated by people like yourself. Those who care about Bitcoin and its ability to free the people from the current financial ties. To do this, we understand and accept the following issues currently facing the Bitcoin environment and newcomers looking to be a part of this revolutionary technology:

Obtaining Bitcoin is not so easy when considering the global scale.
Safety and security can be an issue when dealing with a peer to peer marketplace.
Education and tutorials on Bitcoin are lacking.
We must see past the traditional payment methods and allow people to buy and sell Bitcoin through any means available to them.
The process of purchasing Bitcoins must be clear and fun to allow newcomers to feel a joy when becoming a part of it.

At Paxful we have taken it upon ourselves to find the best solutions when it comes to these obstacles or barriers of entry. Our solutions include an easy to use platform where buyers and sellers can choose from over 300 payment methods. Users can also suggest new methods directly through the platform.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Our platform operates similarly to those of eBay, OpenBazaar and other classified based websites. Sellers and Buyers list their ads - or in our case, their offers - within our marketplace. Anyone from around the world then has the opportunity to browse through the many offers and choose the one that suits their payment method and amount. Each person can further customise their offer with conditions of payment, timeframe and desireable global locations where the offer is made available.

Once an ideal deal has been found, the trade can start. This initiates a live chat with the person and Bitcoin is frozen in escrow for safety until the payment has been made. All funds held in escrow or wallets are secured by BitGo, the leading Bitcoin security provider responsible for some of the largest Bitcoin platforms. Once the process is complete, the Bitcoin can be withdrawn to an external wallet and the seller can enjoy their payment method, whether it be a gift card, cash deposit, online wallet - such as PayPal - or debit card - such as a Visa debit card.
For your convenience and security, we have put together a 3 part tutorial on how to use the wallet, sell or place an order. These tutorials also include some safety tips on all four categories - online wallets, debit cards, gift cards and cash deposits.

THE BENEFITS

In some cases, such as gift cards, you reap the benefits of being able to sell your Bitcoin above the market price. In some cases, people have been able to sell their Bitcoin for up to 1.5x the market value! As always, be cautious, as there are some buyers looking to take advantage of sellers. Please take a look at our three part tutorial that we have put together outlining safety methods and practices.

PAXFUL PARTNER PROGRAM - START YOUR OWN BITCOIN KIOSK

Also we recently launched a new promotion to bring out our Bitcoin Kiosk aimed at providing more benefits for our sellers. Our Bitcoin Kiosk widget has been designed with the end-user in mind and as such we have made the process as simple as one, two, three.

Follow the steps on our Bitcoin Kiosk page, setup and customise your link then share it via your blog, social media or email list. People can then use this to purchase bitcoins directly from your own customised affiliation link. Reap 2% of every purchase made. It's easy and we have everything prepared - buttons, banners, custom links.

Paxful is a great place to sell bitcoins!

Really? I think it's a great place to get scammed. There are plenty of buyers in paxful offering shady methods. There are so much paypal scams, fake gift cards, and other scammy modes of dealing there. The problem here is that you'll have to really be aware of scams. The best probably here is cash only or those that send money directly to you.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Such things can often take place on a P2P markets such as our site or any other site. Even a site like eBay would have huge problems of similar nature if it was not for PayPal's Charge back service, which Bitcoin does not have. We are doing our best to improve our members knowledge and have included a new 3 part tutorial guide that covers the basic on selling, placing orders as well as safety tips when dealing with people based on the different payment methods.

Please make sure you read over them before attempting to sell. Always educate yourself and learn about the risks. Our support team are always happy to give you tips as well if you are ever in doubt.

You can see a response to all of those issues here by someone who wrote a thorough report on scams:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1658629

As mentioned:

I. IN GENERAL:
1. Before you even fund your account - enable 2FA (SMS or Google Authenticator) for ALL available options through the security tab in your profile (link);
2. Never release bitcoins from escrow, if you have not received the payment! EVER!
3. Do not be fooled by 100% green reputation. Always do your due diligence and check the users that left the reps. If they are reputable with more than 100 deals and more than 10BTCs traded - then you have a legit trader.
4. If you receive a suspicious looking email from help@paxful.com - bad English, bad grammar, etc - try to reply to it! If you get a mail-delivery-subsystem message (link) then the message was not sent from the original mailbox, it just used an mx record to look like it was.
5. Never click on links received in the emails from point 4;
6. When posting a Trade, always require the user to at least has verified phone number/email address, 10+ BTC trades, and to be trusted (there is an option for that)!

*Note - I am not in any way affiliated with Paxful, nor am I their employee!

Most of the issues occur when people fall for false links, do not have 2FA or go for trades that are way too good to be true. We will be looking into other means by which we can keep our users safe.
