Wonder if japan with its microchip savvy might enter ASIC design & production at some point in time.

AFAIK japan's electronics design and chip lithography are very good. They could have the capacity to produce next generation ASIC chips if they decided to pursue that goal.

I only wish that this is possible in other parts of the world.

In my country, China, this isn't possible at all. The money transmitting sector is dominated by big payment processors like Wechat pay and Alipay, and nobody is giving any thought to bitcoin at all.

This is a great decision by the Japanese government.

But at the same time, other countries are moving further and further away from bitcoin. Just look at how the central bank of China put all these regulations around the withdrawal of coins from exchanges etc.

Mining in its present form is dead already

I mean with all that expensive mining hardware. In fact, it is dead even twice. As I would say, it is dead conceptually, and if something doesn't get changed on its own (in a evolutionary way), it will be changed forcefully (in a revolutionary way). But it is already dead on purely technical grounds as well, there is no more room left to increase hash rates due to technological limits. You can't indefinitely raise CPU frequencies (in a meaningful way), it is basically the same with asics. Further increasing their capacity would require enormous capital but that simply doesn't make sense. In short, asics mining is at a dead end from both sides of the stick

Can't stress enough that bitcoin is supposed to be used in day to day life.

Many people are using bitcoin as a speculative tool, like penny stocks. But that shouldn't be the case. You should be able to send payments in less than 5 seconds to another person, whether you know them or not, and whether that person is overseas or right in front of your face.

My bank called me other day and was like "yo dude its me from da bank" im like "yo man" and he was tellin me that bank needed 2 know why i had to transfer money I N T E R N A T I O N A L and i was like "dude, im big in the states" but NO i told him arguments why Bitstamp needed some of money and that is because of the potential about cryptocurrencys.

I always argue from an intellectual point of way of the Design of a currency with blockchain. I told him straight up I buy this because this has great potential and by that i mean other crypto beside from BTC too

this bankman felt a little bit suprised by my rant but I'm not saying local(private/goverment banks) currencys will disappear, its just that blockchain and crypto is by design a Internet Currency and States(socialist states?) such as China and Sweden need to figure out the overall positive effects this will have.

I DESIRE a BIG BANK of Manga & Anime with micro bitcoin payments and i really hope Japan come together as a culture unity and make this happen globaly because it such a great piece of work there..

And I bet China EASY would win with a Cryptocurrency - *legalthinkingspectre* because I would DEF buy electronics in some particular areas, from China, and other stuff 2 ofc... with an easy way of buying them. Wow, this is just amazing. I know that Japan already accepted BTC in their financial system but I didn't know the scale of it until I saw your post and that video. It appears that they are really serious in using BTC there. Exchange rate will always be a pain the butt when paying for something with BTC but we just have to deal with it. I'm hoping that my country will take this as an example and copy it in our system. This is one of the reasons why Japan's economy is growing fast through the years.

I'm glad this experience wasn't one of those "no, I must only spend directly from Bitcoin to Bitcoin" types of deals that others have done only to conclude that Bitcoin is difficult to spend.

Living on Bitcoin means having bitcoins and spending them. Even if you need to go through third party services.

I imagine if someone were to do an experiment of "I'm only going to spend dollars" and use actual cash they would experience more limited options. Some places in the US do not accept cash anymore.
