hi everybody
don't know if this is the correct place to ask but we are looking for some contacts in Island to move some of our mining equipment to get some cheaper power so if there is anybody that can that could point os in the right direction or knows anybody that has a solution it would be great.
regards kris

IT IS ICELAND. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IcelandAnd I'm guessing there is no body serving you free dinner, so you must do the research yourself.

If you are planning to get free power or cheap i think building up a solar is the best alternative to have a power where you can mine bitcoin using s9 just like this image I think in island also has very cheap power source.

I disagree, even with government subsidies solar panels are still incredibly expensive. It'd take a very long time to get a return on your investment.

If you are planning to get free power or cheap i think building up a solar is the best alternative to have a power where you can mine bitcoin using s9 just like this image Solar power for mining isn't always a good idea, it can takes several years to ROI and even more if you live in an area with cheap power. It's really expensive to install. Still, OGNasty runs a solar power mining project called NastyMining, you can check it out on the thread. It probably is easier to move your miners to Iceland. That's not the sort of thing you're going to get much help doing though.

I disagree, even with government subsidies solar panels are still incredibly expensive. It'd take a very long time to get a return on your investment. That is correct. This is one reason why solar electricity is not so common (in general and not specific to mining). It is abundantly available and if it indeed were inexpensive, you would solar electricity easily overtaking coal/other non-renewable sources of electricity.

If your moving out your miners on different place then travels fare would add up on the expenses and members suggest iceland then it might do but if its near to your place but if not then you should think twice and also setting up solar panels wont be cheap at all.If electricity is expensive on your place why you did decide to put up miners?

You also need to be aware that the angle and amount of sun they get is going to have a huge impact on how much electricity is collected. Just because a solar panel says it can produce a certain amount of watts doesn't mean it always will. That is under perfect conditions. You will get maybe ,50-75% Depending on how you place it it can be more.

You need to put it somewhere near the equator to generate maximum electricity.

Even in the UK you will have little sunlight for months at a time so you must factor that in. Hotter conditions be better better for solar energy but does it out weight the extra heat the climate brings ? I think it will since cooling fans are relatively cheap.

Heat is no problem, I used to live in South Carolina and my miners didn't get up to 90c even during 100 degree days. Just make sure you have good ventilation and your miners will stand pretty much anything; for reference they were S5s and S3s, gotta be careful with the more delicate T9s and S9s nowadays.
