I can't use bitcoin buying a coffee now.

Sad but true. We cannot use bitcoin for micro payments right now. The fees are painfully high and the confirmation time painfully too long. I have a transaction that took a day to confirm even when I paid a decent amount of fee and the unconfirmed transactions on the Blockchain is low.

We have to find a solution to this situation. It's a problem to everyone, as people are leaving Bitcoin because of these problems. I used to order pizza, which I can't do now because of too high fees, I can buy a side dish with that fees and even after paying that, the confirmations will take a day.
That's really sad for Bitcoin and its long term supporters.

Well, this time, a fee of bitcoin transactions is quite high. I am pretty sure that this is also due to the transaction so much, and pending confirmation. it may be better to put off buying coffee premises bitcoin, and bitcoin began to herd you have, until the transaction has become a small fee.

If you're not a miner the problems kinda out of hand. Too little things to contribute. The biggest helpout so far for this is the transaction accelerator of

viabtc but unfortunately they have a limit of 100 and many people from all over the world are using it so the chances are you gotta wait for another minute

and come again. Honestly if its just micro transactions. I would prefer to just use the usual fiat because price will increase sooner or later you gotta pay a

low amount of satoshi for that.

Thats very sad to hear that you are not able to buy  coffee using bitcoins.I think these things would only remain as pleasant memories in our life.If we find any practical solution to solve this higher fees,then bitcoin would progress more quickly.

Imao, people should only use bitcoin when they want to transfer amounts higher than $100 as a minimum, then paying $0.5-$1 for a fee shouldn't hurt that much.

Imho, developers should propose a change to the system where everyone (miners/ nodes/ total consensus) agree on a permanent change to accept a fixed fee per byte of data equal to USD worth of satoshi per byte, I'm not good with math but it should be something like if I used to pay $0.2 for a 200 bytes transaction then no matter what the price of bitcoin would be I must be able to pay 20 cents in satoshi each and every time transacting the same size.

If miners really want a everlasting and strong currency backed by community then I don't think they refuse to do this.

It was created to revolutionize the payment system, and financial sector, but the way to pay by bitcoin for cofee is still far in the future.

It doesnt make sense because of the fee size, so you need to decrease it somehow-but you simply cant.

The value of Bitcoin will not increase if the adoption rate does not increase. Buying things in shops will increase the adoption rate. Fixing the problems of fees is easy peasy that any child can do. The developers are behaving like an idiot at the moment.

I think paying with bitcoin for a cheap things is useless when you paying a high fees to get your transactions confirmed. So i think it's really nice to use it when you pay in expensive things. This is my opinion.

I think as long as you buy something to someone, and you have TXID, your transaction is secure because it has to be said balance will actually go 100% into the address of the seller . dan it was not a problem

I don't understand but still, I think it's okay to buy even for a higher transaction but not up to the point where the pice of the transaction would go higher than the price of the thing you are buying for. It's just not right. It's better to use fiat than bitcoin or some cryptocurrency.

I understand what youre saying, fiat is the best for me for buying stuffs instead of bitcoin. Though theres no yet stores here that accept bitcoin, but as I observed its too long for the confirmation once you send a bitcoin. So its bet Ill used fiat by buying still.

Converting your bitcoins into your fiat currency in advance so when you feel like drinking coffee you can easily do so.
Convert your bitcoin into other crypto currency.

For a long time Starbucks was found accepting bitcoin for their service. But several news came regarding the same that those are very expensive and cannot be affordable for common people. I suggest there are lots to be done with bitcoin other than buying goods and foods. Try to focus on such activities and profit out of it.

Interesting that starbucks, if they really did, offer their coffee for bitcoins. I just can't really imagine yet how things would go if there are services that already accepts bitcoins as payment in the real world. Especially, when bitcoins is not instantaneous. The merchant has to wait for confimations before he gives his service.

I also heard the news but said a lot of users bitcoin still doubt because the length of transaction confirmation. actually I have not been interested in using bitcoin for something fast like drinks or food because I think there are still weaknesses in that.

i seriously doubt if OP or anybody else in the whole world have been buying Coffee with bitcoin at least not regularly. maybe once or twice but nobody has ever done it on regular basis. when people invest in bitcoin and get sick on a small drop and get thrilled to the moon when it goes up, they are not going to spend their precious coins on things like coffee regularly.

It is not true that you can't use bitcoin to buy a coffee now because I am sure that there is a lot of stores that accepts bitcoin as their payment option and also the coffee shops in different places. In fact, in our place near in the mall there is a small coffee shop and a restaurant that accept bitcoin and that is very good for me because if i don't have money when i'm starving then i just go to that place and buy some food and eat it and pay them with bitcoins.

OP - That is right even I am facing same issue with the fees with so high. So even if I have to transfer some small btc to anyone , I cannot do it since the fees has gone up sky high considering the world is starting to adopt the fees has to go down and not vice versa.

Isn't that just more of a reason that people don't want to spend Bitcoin?

When it's as deflationary as it is now, everyone just wants to hoard it and not spend it.  That basically just makes it a stable asset/investment and not a currency.

By the time that Bitcoin stabilises, it won't be used for spending either because the lowered block reward will result in transaction fees rising to cover mining costs.  I don't think people need to spend Bitcoin for coffee though - it was always going to be impractical.

Good idea for OP.  However, why anyone would want to spend their precious crypto on something as consumable as coffee is beyond me.   But good luck in doing so if that's your desire.

Because Bitcoin, or any other cryptos, is/are a currency and shall be used as it. It's not a collectible item like stamps. In this case the same could be say with fiat why anyone want to spend their precious money on something as consumable
