not sure if Roger has anything to do with the price today , but come on guys it's not even a big dump
we can't expect the price to keep climbing and anyways the price still looks good , maybe some traders decided to take profit on btc and start longing some shitty alts since they were dumping hard

I know the guy is everyone's favourite boogeyman, but it's getting a bit silly now.  Even the people who make vast fortunes day trading won't be able to explain 100% accurately why the market moves the way it does, because no one knows for sure.  That's why it's called speculation.  So stop pretending we can pin it all on one dude's actions.  If you genuinely believe Bitcoin is that fragile and one person could bring the whole thing down, I have to wonder what the hell you're even doing here?

real funny part is if you look at the markets.. they are being moved by $1 increments. using only a couple btc or less

Gdax
going from the bottom up
0.13btc moved price from $1158->$1159
5.293btc moved price from $1159->$1160
2.386btc moved price from $1160->$1159
63.857btc moved price from $1159->$1160
10.325btc moved price from $1160->$1161
0.02btc moved price from $1161->$1160
2.433btc moved price from $1160->$1161
2btc moved price from $1161->$1160
2.551btc moved price from $1160->$1159
16.67btc moved price from $1159->$1160
1.4btc moved price from $1160->$1159

the real reason the price is volitile is because it does not take much to move the market price

5.85 btc = $1

bitfinex
5.85 btc =  $1
0.5 btc =  $1
0.067 btc =  $1
0.1 btc =  $1
0.829 btc =  $1
0.249 btc =  $1
0.170 btc =  $1

and so on

Paid BU supporter detected.

1. i dont get paid for my opinion or by any brand or by roger..
2. seems all you can do is repeat a script

3. what has revealing the fact that the exchanges themselves are rather empty compared to 4 years ago thus able to move the markets easily and cheaply got to do with any brand of implementation.

the funny part is in th last 5 years of being in bitcoin i have not bothered making "price up price down" speculations based on brands.
i have looked at the real reasons. such as being able to move the market by $1 from $1161 to $1160 ($16mill market cap fluctuation) for just $20 spend on an exchange

Best explanation so far. I think it might have to do something with the recent LTC SW acceptance. There's not much fiat on the market because a lot of it moved towards the altcoin sector to buy LTC and ETH. DASH also went up by a lot and fiat is not infinite it comes from somewhere and gets spread between various cryptos. This month more of it went into alts than BTC.
Roger Ver can continue sharing his opinions of negativity on his site, but it won't change anything. BU is finished, it will never get enough support.

Best explanation so far. There's not much fiat on the market because people dont trust exchanges due to the "we been hacked, so bankrupt".. and AMLKYC makes it harder to fund exchanges

As it says in the announcement "largest/ biggest bitcoin forum" I don't know how can a forum becomes the number one and so popular if everything against Core was censored?

SW/ BU or any other version we need block size increase, we need fees reduced, blocks are full 99.99% of all the times, F2pool has mined 1MB blocks or 999.9KB blocks, I sent out a transaction of size 228bytes with 120 sat per byte fee and after 2 hours even with using the accelerator still not confirmed.
I don't know if SW is bad or good but I know this kind of performance is not what a good network should be.

Is it the beginning of the end?
Will Roger Vers' FUD cause a price drop?
Will Dash and the other alt-coins absorb the incoming fiat currency and cause the downfall of our beloved Bitcoin?

Just buy the **cking dip guys!
This is what the smart guys will do.
Instead of freaking out and looking for reasons why the price dropped a bit, as if it never happened before, try to take advantage of the situation.

trying hard to create a narrative
Roger Ver is trying to create a narrative against SegWit and every other scaling solution he doesn't support.
When he does that it is fine? So please don't blame supporters of other ideas when they have their own 'narrative'.

It is not directly Ver's fault and the fluctuation of BTC is normal, but there is no denying that he is partially responsible for current 'greater picture'.

Um its more like a drop in bitcoin and the knowledge that Roger Ver exists causes you to think that correlation means causation and that it is true. Nonsense. There’s no way you can prove the dump was caused by Ver.
How did you trace it back to him ? Through his website. Just because he says something doesn’t mean everyone follows it. But regardless the dump is actually good and one reason I like Bitcoin!

this guy is like someone shouting at the tide to make it come back in. by this point he's shitting all over his own rep with this level of desperation.

if he wants to execute core then all he has to do is come up with better code. if it's better than what's on the table then it's bye bye core, but i don't think he's bright enough to realise this.

I agree to what you have said, to beat core is to come up with better proposal and better non glitchy code.  Though I think he is looking for some sentiment from  Bicoin community (probably he cannot beat core by code) so he is poking everone's emotion to go against Bitcoin Core.  It would be better if he can compete with core in terms of code and not through some propaganda that can affect Bitcoin Market stability negatively.

This.

No-one listens to The Vermin about anything else in Bitcoin, and his "big announcement" was just a re-hashing of the same allegations that Roger and his disciples have been bleeting about for over 6 months.

The proof is evident, no-one much likes or trusts Ver now, and the market players in particular are unlikely to be treating his words seriously ("Mt Gox is solvent" debacle, reneging on the BTC/BTU with Loaded, etc)

Ethereum back up to $50 btw... Bitcoin sells off, Ethers are bought... there's some inverse correlation as Ethers were down to $42 last week while Bitcoin went up.
So, yeah.  maybe just maaaaaybe has little to do with Roger.

We need to start to think if BTC is supposed to do everything, or it has a specific purpose.

never anywhere have i seen anyone state that it was supposed to do everything. it's supposed to be what it is right now and despite everything it's still doing the job.

Exactly why roger ver and his likes will keep bowing their heads down in shame because the price us no being back up and before you know it your propaganda would be a wasteful enterprise.

Roger sold BTC for alts as many early adopters who believed in BTC as daily currency, but those one who sold this is their chose i see that new people are coming in and buying those OLD stack coins.
And new "smart trades" are coming in too. Some big boys know that they will make ETFs for BTC and will load on all kind disappointments and bla bla.
For BTC is great when those BIG holders dump early BTC because once is consumed it won't go so easy to any alt guys.
