Seriously speaking, Not even close to replacing it, but even can be considered a decent sub-currency adding something to the main model -which should be the purpose of altcoins- is monero and etherium, however these two are full of issues and I doubt they can last for years let alone replace BTC.
I believe that in the future bitcoin will become a sub currency and altcoin like ethereum or monero will take its place and become the most precious coin on the internet. They all have a good potential to help people with awesome technology inside

Dream on Cheesy.  Ethereum won't ever take place Bitcoin the same thing with monero since  Ethereum scaling is worst than bitcoin and monero with its feature as anonymous will never hit the mainstream.   I think altcoin that will replace bitcoin is not yet created or is still at planning stage.
Why would you even consider those who are not created yet? We have plenty of altcoins we can see and if you look on it closely you can see that they are progressing as well. Our opinion could be bias since we have our own favorite altcoins but let's see what will be the interest of the majority because they are the one who are going to make a certain coins mainstream, with that said bitcoin has a chance to be replace.
but i think that their progress is just because of the investment of the people for making money, while bitcoin is a currency which is also people holding for the purpose to use it as currency. but in fact the users of bitcoin are still very few therefore in most of the places it is yet not uses as currency, but in future we can expect to use it as currency.

I don't think so at all in the current time, The current altcoins such as LTC and DOGE just offer faster blocks mainly with no more interesting concepts, ETH and MONERO are promising and have their own unique aspects compared to BTC.. BTC is the original so for a copy to overcome it, it should be innovative to the degree of making a new concept.

I may think if ethereum is the only one had successfully driven its fork rather than another crypto.
It has reflected by the current price of the forked coin of ethereum.
I mean about ETC.

LOL is there a proof for your statement? As far as I know if bitcoin just like a rule for altcoin which means the price of bitcoin has determined the price of altcoin.

My opinion is that altcoins will replace bitcoin on the usage level. However I think they will never reach its value. Eventually, after may years bitcoin will end up being some sort of high value collectible.

Actually no, other than ETH none of them is even interesting enough, some seemed promising like STR and later LUM, Monero and before Darkcoin, Litecoin (Doge coin was just a gig from beginning, so no), Right now ETH is spearheading against BTC, although it taking even a little from it's space is unlikely.

When it comes to usage level I don't think that alt coin will replace bitcoin on it. This will remain always the top crypto currency.

And if you think that after many years bitcoin will be having a high value, then that will make it more crowd choice.

So it will not be an easy thing to replace bitcoin with alts.

I don't know. I see it like having 3~5 alts for our daily transactions and bitcoin as the ultimate holding. I think it will unfold like cash and gold. Everyone uses and has cash but noone has or uses gold. However everyone wishes he owned some in his bank locker.

No, I just see them as minor option for trading particularly the new coins and sometimes on the older ones bump or dump movements, sometimes like now they are useful to avoid the confirmation delays when conducting small micro-payments, But I don't see them replacing or taking BTC's place.

I have been seeing Bitcoins' price rising with a stability in its growth, but due to the higher mining fee that is being levied on transactions these days, big businesses are now moving their funds towards alts and taking advantage with their least fees as well as shaping a completely new economy in the trends of altcoin markets. Do you think this may harm Bitcoin's dignity and open up a chance in real for alts to rise?
Of course I do since altcoins have already built blookchain for them thus it can be converted into fiat money if exchangers can be capable for it.

In terms of real value I guess bitcoin is the one, it can be use for daily transaction and in fact in trading you
can make money even doing it daily.  For the majority they will always believe gold is the most valuable asset buy for us I don't think so.

At present movement, you may not think that alt-coins are not going replace. But in the longer run if not all altcoins, one or two will either reach to near to its price or may overtake also. Currently, bitcoins are not able to take the more load, so its usage will be limited. So if any other altcoin solves this issue then slowly they may overtake bitcoins bit it will take a longer time to gain the user trust.

Not now at least,
LTC: has been there for years and never did compete with BTC on equal grounds, plus it has virtually no big advantages over BTC "other than being less congested".
DOGE: it's mainly a gig, not a serious one enough to take over BTC.
ETH: The most serious competition, if they could avoid getting cracked, forked, exploited then it will be something big IMO, not sure about taking over BTC though.
Monero: gaining good recognition and market base in the deepweb.

I guess these are the top altcoins for now, excluding ripple and stellar

Bitcoin is the real deal here, and altcoins is just another currency that would like to take a part of the growing industry that bitcoin is experiencing ever since. Altcoins are creating a thing that bitcoin never had because it is like a marketing strategy to attract people to use their created coin to have a value in price.
We can see that the price of the bitcoin is at a glance, in the mean while we can witness a bunch of the alts coming to the market listing and taking a chance for them to get a little market cap in such a situation I don’t consider the alts to be capable to create any sort of harmful situation for the Bitcoin. Also the bitcoin is expanding rapidly with high demand in the market for it.

I believe no altcoin could come near bitcoin in terms of being used as real currency. Altcoins may reach $200 levels or being traded in each and every exchange but the point is why they are existing as a currency when there is no competitive currency system feature  against bitcoins ?

I don't think any Alt Coin has a significant chance of replacing Bitcoin.

But I do think a handful of Alt Coins may do very, very well alongside of Bitcoin.  Alt coins (and tokens) that do specific things better than bitcoin, or have whole other uses beyond what bitcoin can offer have an advantage.  It's an exciting time.

You said yourself that they have specific things better then Bitcoin, so if Bitcoin won't adapt to market/needs of users they will take over. Sure atm bitcoin is dominating, but I think things can change.

Some Alt Coins and tokens do certain things better than bitcoin, sure.

But bitcoin has one thing going for it above all others.  It's most valuable, if for no other reason than because it was the first.  It has the first mover advantage.

I do believe bitcoin can be replaced from others currencies wich has handled already the block size, the transaction fee as well not delaying transactions asking for more money, this is ridiculous bitcoin being at this point, i dont know wich coins can and might remove bitcoin from its kingdom, but the end looks close.

Another way to look at it is that people are starting to become more and more open minded about other cryptocurrencies as well instead of just worshiping bitcoins alone. Eventually, a loyal bitcoin user would like to take a look at other coins as well and study why are other people into it. Altcoins are profitable. As a matter of fact, it's very profitable that's why we see ICOs here and there that are just copy+paste of an old ICO. They just changed the name.

People invest in altcoins to get more bitcoins. So ultimately, all these altcoins investments are investments for bitcoins.

Very well said mate, there's a lot of opportunity in investing in ICOs, just recently I had put my money in MobileGo ico which apparently the largest crypto currency crowdsale ever. I believe on the team behind the project and I'm optimistic it will bring good ROI to me, this is a big project and I am sure it will be listed in big exchanges.

It is just lately that I started investing in ICOs my recent success was HMQ, the price has really pump up now, so I already took my capital and put it in other projects or ICOs.

Alts doesn't have chances of overcoming bitcoin. Bitcoin has got a standard place with its multiple usage. So if in one way people stop using it someone prefer it for some other needs. This helps with the continued circulation of bitcoin and makes it gain strength little by little. The same is not possible with altcoins as they are mostly preferred for trading purpose.
