At this moment, I don't see any altcoins standing a chance against Bitcoin to be the top leader of the crypto-currency market, Bitcoin values are constantly rising every few months and this meant most of the traders are putting their attention on Bitcoin, even the new comers who just get into crypto-currency are asking questions mostly related to Bitcoin.

Yes. All altcoins have a chance to beat bitcoin. But it must be traversed with a long road and only projects that are able to defeat it. I think if there is a very good project and can attract the attention of investors and technology world, I'm sure the altcoin will be able to beat the bitcoin, even can outperform it.

All this talk about beating bitcoin is really getting on my nerves. The will be no dominant coin, a few coins and their tech will drive the backbone of the digital infrastructure but there will be millions or billions of diffrent crypto currencies, all having a specific ( and USEFULL) purpose. To be honest, if for long term, not have altcoin can compete with Bitcoin. However, not like the definition altcoin don't have chances against bitcoin in short time. In the past, have many altcoin growth better than Bitcoin, they are Ripple, Stellar, Ethereum, Stratis ...

I think, this should be on the altdis thread. But yes, of course, altcoins has a chance on surpassing Bitcoin as the no.1 cryptocurrency. There are lots of Alts hich means more chances against Bitcoin. There's Monero, Litecoin, BCC, and also ETH that has potentials on being more in demand. These coins are competing against Bitcoin. ETH market cap is more than 50% of Bitcoin's market cap. It is still rising that might be a threat to Bitcoin.

I do not think there is competition at the moment as the Bitcoin is sweeping the market undisputed. These currencies need strong support to be competitive.

Yes that is also how I see it. As of now the value of bitcoin is very high that the different kind of altcoins doesn't stand a chance against bitcoin. Because no matter what kind of coin it is, we always go back to bitcoin.

This is usual for everyone analyser about the future of the bitcoin but still we should think about the anither factors also that are making the bitcoin number one and more useful for us then any other coin .
Lets take here an example of Digibyte coin , they are claiming that thier network is 40 times faster that bitcoin network speed but now you can see that what is going on with the market of the Digibyte coin ( dumped to 290satoshi/dgb ) , so here we want only that coin which have a proper stability in the price that can make results into more profit and less loss during investment .
And no doubt due to first arised coin bitcoin , it is no. One and people usually prefer to use bitcoin only because i also have been seen that bitcoin has huhe impact in the cryptocurrency then any other coin have .

I just invested a lot of my holding into TenXPay. It offers something to solve the number 1 problem bitcoin faces, i.e Real world use of those funds. Since it allows people to pay through credit cards and all using their bitcoin balance, it will change the way things are right now.

In my opinion , I don't think alts have chances against Bitcoins. Bitcoin will stay on top but alts might try to take its place and we really don't know what the future will bring but so far or as of the present it's a no in my opinion.

Additionally we need to be realistic about our expectation in the cryptocurrency market, that Bitcoin the most highly valued cryptocurrency has not yet fully tap the majority of the consumer market yet, and you think there is a room for one more cryptocurrency. Bitcoin as a currency needs to grow first, and what I mean about that is both consumers and sellers are accepting Bitcoin as a kind of currency. If that happen there will be a possibility that people will start to look for another cryptocurrency in the market that is suited to be an alternative to Bitcoin.

If you are going to speculate to the possibilities about the chance of altcoin against bitcoin first we must all consider the role of the alternative crypto-currency int the market. First of all alternative coin does not establish a rivalry between bitcoin because it is much more prefer to achieve a mutual relationship between altcoins and bitcoin on the market where it set to be an option for people to used on transaction in the mode trading or investment that may somehow make a good stability on the stock of both crypto-currencies. And we can also see that all altcoins depends on the price of bitcoin which happened to have a good relationship between the development and growth for both price, value, transaction and security.

Since it is first introduced digital currency bitcoin have the heavy competition with ETH and BCH. These recently invented altcoins have a growth more than a bitcoin's growth. Yeah, it seems that you are right. Most of the altcoins have potential but even though they have potential, they can't surpass the bitcoin. Altcoins don't have power to win against bitcoin.

I hold bitcoin no matter what when i see any different trend in the market i start my inner trader skills till now the best cash i have made would be from bcc i bought at 0.1 3-4 and sold each for 0.7 bitcoin that was a good break through i saw a signal on some group of xrp but unfortunately didn't take any action it

Yes, absolutely! I don't see a future where one coin rule all the others. Maybe iota will be the dominant for the IOT market. Some other will be used for amazon, other for alibaba. I think there will be multiple coins being used at the same time. So exchanges will be used a lot.
