Which of these two exchange services do you use and why?
Do you trust one over the other or is it a support or service thing that one is better than the other, have you tried both?
And how many of you use both services just to spread your funds across?

Polo is much more popular. Make sure to deposit with ETH because BTC deposits take forever!

I actually prefer Bittrex to Poloniex, but I tend to buy and hold for a few months and don't day trade. I like the great selection of altcoins Bittrex offers, and prefer it's interface.

Poloniex has much higher volumes, and that alone is a reason to favour it.
Bittrex has a lot of penny stocks listed. You will have to be careful to avoid these.

I already chose Poloniex. My first contact with trading was at Yobit, and I spent there maybe a year, month ago I opened account on Poloniex and now I trade and buy coins there. I like Poloniex and I will not change them anytime soon, I still didn`t use everything that Poloniex have to offer to us.

It is very risky when you have so many penny stocks and no one wants to buy them. Even the the user interface of Poloniex is 10x better than Bittrex, it may have lots of altcoins but poloniex provides better services with cold storage.

Didn't know that. Why is that so?

They don't hold the bitLicence that NY requires (Bittrex does).
More info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitLicense

At some point this may catch up with polo as the NY requirements set a standard.

I have used a both since a long time, but for now I use poloniex more often, and oddly I do not know why I more prefer poloniex than bittrex, but I think they both have support services that are equally good.

Every exchange charges trading fees, Bittrex too. Is there any significant difference between trading fees of Poloniex and Bittrex?

For everyone, their exchange is better. Who needs a lot of liquidity at a normal price - Poloniex, who needs speed and no connection problems - Bittrex.

Hello,

I saw that poloniex offers margin trading. Does it offer margin trading for all currencies or only for currencies listed in "margin trading" section?

Does bittrex offer margin trading now?

Thanks

i'm using both bittrex and polo at the moment. polo interface is far better but it's irrelevant if you can't withdraw your money. polo has problems with withdrawals and you can never get any answer from their support. i'm expecting a mtgox-like behaviour from polo so beware.

Lately I have been using the bittrex a lot more.
Poloniex is suffering from scaling issues because of the sudden spike in users...
This has led them not add any of the popular and up and coming alts i trade/hodl.
Bittrex  has been getting all the ICOs of late.
They are also a lot more supportive of popular forks.
ZCL & ZEN come to mind.

I like liqui too...but it seems like a lot of bots trade there because most of the trades are in mBTC.

I hope polo wises up, and starts to pick up more projects, instead off falling on that excuse:

"we only add coins that are innovative to the space"

haha...

more like,

If we add another coin, we are gonna crash.

Both are good, but an exchange is not good if used just to store bitcoin only, believe me you will get into trouble if just save it, immediately make trade there. Good luck!

I prefer myself Bittrex over Poloniex. There is not any particular reason, it's just that the Poloniex UI hurt my eyes.It is confusing that you don't know where to put your eyes. Bittrex is also the first exchange I used and I am happy with it. I don't like to change specially when all is working good. So i stick with Bitrrex personnaly

Came here from a thread linked to from another, and found it funny that this was the first thing that struck me about Polo the first time too... the default UI hurts my old eyes. You know you can switch to Night Mode, though, right? (Top right corner)
