Bitcoin can be used for different purposes, so I think that there is no good answer for that question, it mainly depends on the person, and the place where is he living at.
For example, if you live in highly developed country, bitcoin can be used by you as a payment method in different kind of shops, stores and also used in online-shopping, at least you can always pay through web with that.

But if you are from third world country, where the most of people are living in the extreme povery, then you may use bitcoin as a main source of income.
For example, there are somepeople here who dont really speak english (they do, but it is very hard to understand them) but they still are present on the forum, as a spammers to gain money from signature campaining.
They do one-line, not constructive posts, but they pay them so much, that it is not worth for them to do anything else in their country. How can you blame them, right?
