When a club signs a striker and that striker scored 30 goals and then scores 15 goals, it would be too easy to say that the transfer price should have been half of what has been paid.

But I think you are pointing towards a problem that more generally exists and not only the transfer price for Mason Mount was too high, but probably for 99% of the players the transfer prices were too high because the system has been flooded with tons of money recently.
