I have to disagree with you, KDB came back from injury and still performed perfectly fine if he stays one more season at the Etihad with what we saw him do in the just concluded Euros I don't see him playing poorly despite his age, players like that are hardly seen in the world of football. Other sources say De Bruyne will not leave and the talks are not true that is quoted by Fabrizio Romano, but Manchester City will sell De Bruyne will be able to be released after his contract expires then it remains in one more season until 2025.

Al Ittihad is only serious in the Edersen talks which will be immediately signed if it reaches an agreement next week, Manchester City is asking for a bigger price tag while the Arab club wants to bid below it.

The extension of the contract really don't say everything about the contract.
For example take Osimhen he renewed the past season just to be sold better and it can be the same situation with Lautaro.

Another thing to consider is if (and we don't know) they applied a release clause under some circumstances.

It says he had no release clause in this one but some other websites indicate it like there was one which was worth around 120 million euros. But I trust the source I shared above more honestly.  

There is no guarantee for anything indeed. Maybe he would play for 2-3 years the most and say goodbye to join a bigger team. Time will show.    I would really like to watch him at Real Madrid one day but after signing Mbappe I know it is a less realistic expectation.
