Right, this rumors is too old. Real Madrid have long wanted to sign William Saliba. Almost from the last summer window, they shortlisted William Saliba in their transfer hub. In almost September, I also posted on this transfer in which Real Madrid sent 85 million bid but Arsenal rejected it.

Yes, even Alexander-Arnold couldn’t refuse Real, although he is leaving his home club and the league that is advertised as the best (and maybe it is), plus from the club that will take gold this year. I still don't see this happening in the near future. Real Madrid has just been unlucky that one of their major centerbacks Éder Militão has been on and off for some time now but on a good day when he is available. It feels like they don't need any signing on that department.

Maybe they will attempt to groom some lads that can step in when one of the seniors is injured. Spending that much to sign a huge centreback just to bench another top player in the long run would be crazy IMO.

Madrid definitely do need sign a center back next summer and it shouldn’t be just any signings but a marquee signing Also, to me this Saliba is definitely the player that has this flair that makes me think he is the right choice for Real Madrid. Just as you might have said the current defenders registered in Madrid and were exceptional good in their days but right now with the repeatedly injured I think they have to cash on a new center. Saliba is easily one to fill this position to me and couple with his age, this is one signing that will he both present and future. Van Dyke was offered to real Madrid by his agent but the club actually didn’t want that and it might be because of his age which is very much understandable. Real Madrid seems to be after young players and more reason why they went after current Manchester United player LenY Yoro.

As for Maybe the deal will materialize. I will say no one actually get to reject Real Madrid, they were able to price away Ronaldo at his peak away from the best club in the Europe then.
