I totally understand the reason if the supporters thought that bringing in a stranger could disrupt the harmony of the team especially seeing how much tension and issues this whole Rashford saga caused Manchester United. In my honest opinion it was wise by the club to avoid this deal at the moment because the club itself is not in a very stable state at the moment regarding finances, bringing in an extra trouble wouldn’t be good at all for the club.

I disagree with your judgement on this. Barcelona is one big club in Europe that is all-embracing to any quality player regardless of national allegiance. I assume that the case of Marcos Rashford is far from an issue of nationality but that the player has been viewed to not fit in the Barcelona team considering his style of play or probably he can't deliver in the task ahead more than other available choices they are open to which they seem better than Rashford.

As for clubs seeking the opinion of their players in buying a new player to the team I think it's nothing new about Barcelona. I have looked at the reports and since it is even just available on one newspaper alone confirms that it is fake to me. First of all it is hardly a thing where the board will have to discuss the move with some certain players first before the move can happen, even if the player is coming from a direct rival club the players of the other clubs will just be happy to have a new player most especially if the player is coming to add competition to the team. So this is definitely not true that they stopped the movement.
