Casemiro could be kept though, can't he? Like I do not get why United isn't looking to keep him, I get that he may not be playing forever and eventually he will be gone, but for another 2 seasons they can keep him and pay him and they would still have a good team that way.
Of course he could stay but this is probably what he is thinking: I'm 34 years old, I'm in a club who won't be able to win any major trophy anytime soon and in order to renew the contract for sure I would have to take a huge pay cut. The other option is to go to Saudi Arabia and make a ridiculous amount of money in a couple of years. What option do you think he prefers? If I were him I would go to Saudi Arabia, no doubt about that. He is way past his prime, he is no longer one of the best midfielders in the world, it's right that he focuses on the best way to end his carrier.

However his age is something that might force the board to let him go, they'll want someone who's younger, more fit and faster to play that role and since Urgate would be leaving too it means that about 2 DM's would be signed by the summer.

He is quite important in the new scheme devised by Carrick but at the same time, he is not the type of player that could play 4-8 times a month without resting. At this rate, we are going into either UCL or the Europa League and not to mention there will be 2 cups next season as well so we need younger players that could fit in most of the time

Aside from that, Casemiro is costing us alot of money each week so yeah pretty sure the boards are thrill to let him go for free

I think they should try to reach an agreement with him instead of letting him go. He's an important player for Manchester United and very effective in midfield right now. Especially with the new manager, he's taken on his role even better. There's a noticeable improvement in his performance, and I think he more than deserves a new contract. I don't think his only concern is money, if that were the case, he would have gone to Saudi Arabia and earned a very high contract. I think he loves Manchester United.

Yes, Casemiro situation will end up in the management decision, my assumption is that if they don't get the right replacement in the next transfer window, I still believe the management will keep him even if Casemiro does say he will leave, because it's not easy to get a figure like him for Man Utd midfield, several names have been rumored as his replacement, and two potential names in my opinion are Wharton and Anderson, but still this will depend on these two players and also the price that Man Utd will pay, which is not cheap considering their current market value.

Woke up to the news that Tottenham Hotspur have sacked Thomas Frank after series of poor results that kept them close to the relegation zone in the premier league. Thomas Frank was appointed last year June, but things couldn't work well for him in North London. Even though he has guided the club to top 8 finish in the champions league group stages, but that was not enough to help him keep his job. I think the club made the right call by relieving him of his duties as he wasn't good enough.

Tottenham Hotspur will continue to sacked their coach every season because they never trust any coach, Tottenham won Europa League trophy after beating Manchester United and they qualify for the Champions League, after that they fired the coach that win the trophy for them and forget what he has done for them, Tottenham will remain ungrateful team because they never believe in any coach and that will be the reason why they can never win the league or Champions League.

Sacking Thomas Frank is not a surprise because he has failed to win matches for the team, he make Tottenham look like a team that is not in the premier league, Tottenham have lost many games, including some games that they should win and get a three point, sometimes, looking at Tottenham playing is so annoying because they can be winning with 2 goals in a game and later end the game draw.

The replacements i've seen so far are all good, from Baleba, Anderson, Hackney, down to Tonali. They're all players that's had an experience of England football and would blend in perfectly, that's the same approach Manchester United used this season for Cunha and Mbeumo and it worked so they should use similar strategy if they finally decide to let Casemiro go and get a replacement. I even forget to mention Wharton, to me Anderson would make a better DM at United than Wharton.

For me the only problem is the pay cut and nothing to do with winning titles. If Manchester United can renew Casemiro's contract without any pay cut then I am sure he will sign to it.
Lewandowski is 37 and still playing for Barcelona. Casemiro is 34 years old and in this present Manchester United team he is very important and I don't think he will lose all of his strength in two years.
Except Manchester United have found a better replacement it won't be a bad decision to renew although Casemiro has made it clear that he is leaving.
Even though Manchester United management changes their mind to renew Casemiro's contract with a pay cut, I believe Casemiro would still accept the offer because he loves Manchester United and he would like to extend his contract at Manchester United if he's giving the opportunity, but the problem is that Manchester United no longer need the services of Casemiro. Casemiro has no option than to leave Manchester United at the end of the season since Manchester United management has made it very clear to Casemiro that they won't renew his contract.

Tottenham Hotspur is becoming an unfriendly environment for every manager since some years now. Who have they not sacked? Pochettinho took them to champions League final and lost to Liverpool (of which everyone expected Liverpool to win). He beat Ajax in a surprise come back style and brought joy to the fans. All the club could do was to sack him. Morinho took them to a cup final and got sacked before the final game. Thomas Frank's case is not a surprise, winning the Europa was still not enough to keep his job and even qualifying for champions League next stage.

I think at this point, managers should be more focused on what their employers want than what the fans and their personal interests are. The Epl seems to be the only thing that the board wants at this moment and can't stand this currently poor performance. If Tottenham doesn't learn to give a manager time to build, they may never win the Epl. Arsenal has been so patient with Arteta and that's why they're currently very formidable in the league, at least he has built a team he wanted. Sacking Frank is not the issue, the real problem is getting a better option. Manchester United sacked Erik Ten Hag after winning 2 titles in two seasons and hired Amorim who took them near to relegation last season and on the verge of relegating them this season before he got sacked. I wish them well I. Their next option.

I think any player at his age will be looking to take the easy way out because it will favor them more, being 34 years of age means that your value will be depreciating and as you said the team will be looking to cut his salary because of age so why not just sign for a team that can pay you more. Going to Saudi Arabia League is the best option for him now because as soon his performance start dropping again they wouldn't hesitate to let him go and renewing the contract could become difficult so it's better to leave before things get worse. It's best to make the most of things now that his career is near the end. After retirement there's no more salary for him so it's better to move to a place he will earn more and accumulate as much as he can.

Thomas Frank sack was long overdue because he lacks the technical knowledge to keep the team in a stable form. This was how Tottenham overlooked Mauricio Pochettino and he stayed many years without a major trophy. Coaches should no longer be allowed to stay for so long if the team is not performing as expected of the coach. For the fact that Thomas Frank led the team to the round of 16 of the champions league doesn't mean he should be given any consideration. It's good he is sacked so that Tottenham can find a better replacement.

Based on the latest news Thomas Frank has stated that his position as coach at Tottenham Hotspur isn't under threat (Source). He emphasized that he has spoken with the owner of Tottenham. However it seems that Tottenham fans have begun to lose faith in Frank's coaching style at Tottenham what's more after yesterday's defeat against Newcastle at Tottenham's home ground. This has made fans even more doubtful about Tottenham's future performance. I personally think that Thomas Frank's position at Tottenham is still secure because he still has work to do for the next stage of the Champions League, where he has led Tottenham to qualify for the last 16. And that also proves that Thomas Frank still has the ability to deliver good performances for Tottenham. But I think his focus is more on the Champions League so he has to sacrifice the Premier League. I think Thomas Frank will finish his tenure as coach when he is no longer able to deliver good performances at all. And maybe he will stay if he manages to take Tottenham to the Champions League final or even win it. But I think that will be difficult considering the many other strong teams they have to face.

Just to let you know, Frank's already been sacked as of this morning. So that quote about his position being secure aged really badly really fast.

The issue was never whether he was able to install a team tactically. The problem was he built a system which required certain types of players and Spurs didn't have them. He wanted to sit back deeper and counter-attack, which is OK against mid-table European side not pressing that aggressive.

Domestically though? Every team in the Premier League knows how to press now. And when you're trying to play on the break, but your midfield has got a bunch of runners in it instead of passers, you just get stuck. They'd win the ball back and then have nobody who was actually able to thread it through to the forwards. That's why their chance creation fell off a cliff as compared to last season.

The new manager must make a choice between Europe and survival. You physically can't compete on two fronts when you've got ten players injured and you're five points above the drop zone.

The smart move - the only move really - is to throw the Champions League and make sure you stay up. Still, try to tell that to a fanbase that's seen their team finish 17th and then 16th in consecutive seasons.

Tottenham's management will only sack Thomas Frank if Tottenham are eliminated early from the Champions League, as Tottenham's performance in the Premier League under manager Thomas Frank has been dismal. From the start, the management's decision to hire Thomas Frank as manager drew criticism from fans for being an not a good coach, and this has now been proven.
It seems like they now can't tolerate it like before because after the defeat to Newcastle yesterday Tottenham officially sacked Frank which makes the current situation gray for Tottenham.

But on the one hand this seems like a slightly late decision even though I know they managed to qualify for the knock out phase at this time but still it seems that if in the end Frank is not retained for 1 season the decision is now a little late because they can do it since a few months earlier.
At the moment there is still no continuation on this matter but the rumor is that Amorim's name is now linked with Tottenham Hotspur although this is still no further certainty but I think this could be a reality especially since Amorim is still enough to be hoped for even though he was destroyed at Manchester United.

It is strange that they didn't sack him yet. They finished 24/25 with 38 points and were far out of the danger zone, but only because the teams below them were so much weaker that 38 points saved them easily. But this time it doesn't look very well for them and there is no positive trend or good times to be anticipated. I don't know if it is mercy or if the upper management at Tottenham doesn't only blame the coach, but is aware that mistakes have been made in regards to signing new players.

On the one hand I like it when coaches don't get sacked after two months because they usually need their time to fix things of course, but on the other hand this is not looking great for Tottenham at all and they are already in a bad place where there is nothing to play for in the EPL.
Maybe they will part ways with him at the end of the season. That way they will be able to get an ideal coach. Sometimes, making a decision such as sacking a coach could turn into a complete disaster for the team in the long run and yes, I also prefer when a coach is given ample time to get things together. Having instant positive results when you just got into the club a few months back is no easy thing to achieve.

Problem is solved now and Tottenham sacked him.

But what you said can be problematic because on the one hand, giving the coach time to form a team and improve along the way carries big risk as well. Because on the other hand, if it goes wrong and one coach got all the time he wanted, the club is left with empty hands, probably missed the qualification for the UCL and then it is much harder to find a great coach who is willing to take over a team that is not playing international competitions. All these consequences need to be considered carefully before they can't be changed anymore.

But I think that Tottenham is already looking so bad that it is highly unlikely they can convince their dream coach to sign a contract. The future isn't looking very bright and they will probably be forced to run another experiment with a less experienced coach.

It is a pity for Thomas but somewhat a good development for Tottenham fans and lovers of football.
Even if Tottenham is not known for winning trophies, we actually do not see them in the current position they occupy.
They need do better, I know the absence of Kane and Son is not that easy to bear.

Meanwhile, are there candidates to replace him?
From the article I got this news from, it's likely that Mauricio Pochettino is the coach that has the highest chance of replacing Thomas Frank if they can wait till the world cup is over aince he's currently, coaching the USA men national team for the world cup. Mauricio Pochettino has also shown his interest to coach Tottenham.

Thomas Frank arrived at a bad time. He managed 38 games in all competitions, with 14 losses, 11 draws, and 13 wins. That's not a very pleasing record. Unfortunately, he found a weak squad and couldn't make good signings. I don't know why Tottenham hasn't invested in a good squad.

As for Mauricio Pochettino, he was already Tottenham's manager from the 2014-2019 season until the 2019-2019 season. That's many years he spent at Tottenham and didn't achieve much. Therefore, I can't understand why they would bring him back.

Honestly speaking inasmuch as the way Tottenham gets rid of managers is too often, let's not forget that Ange Postecoglou the coach you said won them there Europa League was still the one that almost relegated them, they finished 17th just a step back for them to be relegated, so they should keep a coach like that because he won them the Europa League?

The same manager went to Nottingham Forest and lost 6 of his 8 games and the remaining 2 he drew them,  so for there previous coach, it was not there fault. Thomas Frank should have just stayed in Brentford.

Manchester United and Tottenham finished close to each other last season. Around 14th and 15th position, correct me if im wrong here. Both teams bought players to improve their team, now Manchester United are in the top 4 , while Tottenham is in 16th. Changed happen for United, it then became worst for Tottenham. No Spurs fan will be happy for what is happening to the team. Sacking Thomas Frank is the best thing that has happened to Spurs. Let them pray for their injured players to return. Kudus should be back soon.

He is way past his prime, he is no longer one nchof the best midfielders in the world, it's right that he focuses on the best way to end his carrier.
Who wouldn't prefer going to the Saudi professional league to make a ridiculous amount of money for a player of its kind if an offer presents, though there may be other important achievements that the player is looking to achieve with Manchester United, who knows? But unfortunately Manchester United is no where nearing any major trophy.

I was really expecting this for a very long time and now they have done it, I’m sure before they decided to sack there current coach they already have someone in mind, if they want to sign a new coach they should sign a coach that can build good players not a coach that just depends on buying players because they don’t have such money for that, they should just sign someone that can make the squad stronger and better.
