Mikel Arteta have indeed made the best choice for Asernal ahead of the season and for the pre season friendly introduction of the new signing Bruno Guimaraes who is features in the Sunday match again this show that Asernal is not only ready for the premier league this season but also eyeing to accomplished what their missed in the just concluded championship final,. Two solids new players and amount £75 m for Gulmaraes from Newcastle United.

Bruno is another great addition to the club and when we talk about the midfield fire power I believe it will be stronger than the midfield we saw last season but another thing to consider will be injury, I'm saying this because Arsenal as a team are always unlucky when the season begins, it is either injury or suspension of any player that they need very well and the replacement will be another problem so the best thing to do is reserve either Rice or Bruno. What I said might not happen for Rice or Bruno to be unavailable at ones but it could happen, without Rice and Bruno I see Arsenal suffering, the best thing is for the other midfielders to upgrade themselves should incase they have such issues.
I think if Rodri moves to Barcelona, Arsenal is arguably going to have the best midfield in the Premier League, a midfield of Declan Rice, Bruno Guimaraes and Martin Odegaard, that is going to be a spectacular midfield, Arsenal midfield can’t be compared with Manchester City, Liverpool, it seems like Liverpool and Manchester City are teams in a building process, because they’re entirely going to have a new midfield and a new manager when Rodri leaves, it’s obvious Rodri is going to leave, Manchester City are always going to struggle without Rodri, they will have to suffer his absence for awhile, until the new midfielders are going to hit the ground running, Arsenal have a good squad now and they’re favorites to win the Premier League, I’m wondering what is going to happen to Zubimendi after the signing of Bruno Guimaraes

Arteta would have a wide option in Arsenal midfield with Lewis-Skelly' also a promising young midfielder as well as Zubimendi and with the inclusion of Bruno Guimaraes who is a holding and box to box midfielder Arsenal would have unarguably the best midfield in premier league next season thus Arteta would rotate his players to bring freshness to the players, recall towards the end of last season Zubimendi had began to experience fatigue after being played consistently thus his input to the team waned until Lewis-Skelly was introduced by Arteta before Arsenal gained momentum in their midfield I believe Arteta want a balance in the team with defensive and attacking midfielders,  I doubt it if Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd can match Arsenal midfielders next season because their squad had become more formidable and stronger.

Is any injury necessary for a football player? Bruno Guimaraes has been unlucky to pick up injuries at his other club, but that may not be the case at Arsenal. I know of some players with a long history of injuries, but after moving to a new club, their story changed. I believe Bruno Guimaraes will be more careful at Arsenal. Arsenal have several options in that midfield. It is in Arteta's hands to rotate the players very well to avoid fatigue or injury to one player.

Arsenal have a long variety of players they can manage for the midfield and considering all the tournaments they will have to face in this new season, they will have to know how to manage the various players available very carefully. So they will certainly all have an important rotation and this will allow them to rest, thus avoiding injuries.

What do you think? Will Barcelona let Ferran Torres leave for financial gain without considering who will replace him?

I don't know for sure, but my feeling is that Barca will release Ferran Torres to PSG.. even though PSG's final offer doesn't match what Barca wants, but seeing Ferran's desire to play at PSG, it makes Barca probably change their mind and accept the offer. Maybe later in return Barca will recruit another player to fill the position, because as far as I know they still have targeted players, or they will maximize their players to fill the position left by Ferran.
When a player's mind is already made up it's difficult to convince them otherwise and judging from how Barcelona wants to get a new striker there will be no point in keeping Ferran Torres someone who already wants to leave. It'd be a good idea if they use his sale to fund the purchase of a better striker. Joao Pedro and Alvarez who was their top target are now unavailable for them.

Anything is possible because clubs no longer hesitate to pay exorbitant sums for players, which in itself is a suspicious move. Paying €100-150 million for players shouldn't be a burden for the teams. I think buying players at such high prices is unnecessary, but it seems like they've deliberately manipulated the market this way.
100m million is not more a high price in football transfers now. Even an average players is priced at that amount or higher so it's not a big deal anymore for teams. Nowadays as long a teams is satisfied with the player they're going for paying the price is not a big deal, the only issue is the player meeting expectations which most players don't due to the high purchase.

It seems Arsenal is very open with Arteta about making new player purchases this season. After buying Bruno Guimaraes for £75m, Arteta seems open to selling Martin Zubimendi. Reportedly, Zubimendi is being pursued by Real Madrid and Chelsea. Rumor has it that Arsenal wants at least 90 million euros to let Zubimendi go. As for Vinicius, I just found out that Arsenal has definitely failed to get him because Vinicius extended his contract with Real Madrid.

Source: https://metro.co.uk/2026/08/09/arsenal-set-price-chelsea-sign-martin-zubimendi-real-madrid-approach-29333721/

I don't think Zubimendi will be sold—or rather, I don't think he'll be sold just because Guimaraes has arrived—though any player can be sold if a lucrative offer comes in. Guimaraes is set to fill Trossard's spot.
Arsenal needs Zubimendi.

If the player is to be signed, I think Chelsea will be the one to do it. That is because Chelsea faces a two-window transfer ban starting next season; consequently, it would be a logical move for them to sign the players they need right now.

Exactly. The most interesting thing about Arsenal this season is that the midfield is no longer its ceiling, but the floor for absolute dominance. Rice, Ødegaard, Zubimendi, Merino, Lewis-Skelly, and now Guimarães, plus Eze as a hybrid option. These guys can make matchday squads in almost every other club in the Premier League, and Arsenal play their best football when they control the midfield. So, rotation isn't an issue, and it really changes everything about how far this team can go.

The absence of Rodri would affect the defensive and tactical prowess of Manchester City. However, constant injuries have made him miss so many games, which has prepared the club for his departure. City have also won important games and performed well in all competitions without him. Don't get me wrong the best player of the world cup is a good player but gegeralising that his deprature will make Arsenal have the best midfield is overexagerating. The prepmeier league are still expecting more players since the transfer market is still open. We will not know the club with the best midfieled until the league start.

Gabriel Jesus certainly didn't have the best time iof his career since signing for Arsenal, he suffered alot of injuries, which dropped his form and Arteta lost confidence in him. Going to Napoli is a great opportunity for him to improve and return to his best form, he is still young though, so he will certainly be a starter there. Another club I will suggest he should go is Besiktas, they don't have much experienced strikers, this is an opportunity for him to prove himself, and he can easily link up with his former teammate Leandro Trossard.

It was thought that Gabriel Jesus would have a wonderful career but instead it didn't prove to be so. Obviously it also depends on the many injuries he had, he wasn't lucky. Of course it would be a good signing for Napoli if he goes there, he could still have his say. We'll see where he decides to go and if he makes the right choice.

We all thought he was going to have a very good spell at Arsenal, he was struggling to get game time at Manchester city, and it was understandable because he was competing with Elite strikers then at Manchester city. So when he went to arsenal we all thought he was going to prove his quality, but injuries didn’t allow him. He have had a very decent career, he has won multiple premier league trophies.

With Napoli selling Lukaku, going to Napoli will be good, but still he will be a back up striker to Hujlund. So for me Besiktas will be the right place for him.

Well every one have their expectations about every player, for me I have always seen him as one of those strikers that will never get that opportunity to prover themselves. Injuries have been a huge setback for him. Now he wants to leave England, let hope he get an injury free career onward.

Honestly, with or without Rodri Arsenal's midfield is the best, why I'm saying that is because the man is not as sharp as he was before he won the Ballon d'or, he did perfectly well at the World Cup but what I noticed is that this player Rodri killed his opposition with experience, no need to rush and with the help of players like Fabian and let me say Pedri, they always cover before Rodri track back, so he did well but relating it to the EPL I don't think City have what it takes to beat Arsenal's midfield. Liverpool are really off the chart, they look like a team that will struggle if they don't work on their midfield.
Zub will be fine, at least Arsenal have options incase they face anything like injury and resting some players too is needed but what they should focus on is ending the game before it started so that other players can come in to play, in a situation where they struggle to score I don't see Arteta making much changes, let's wait and see if they can start well in their opening game.

Romelu Lukaku to Fenerbahçe, here we go! Green light from Napoli as club to club agreement has been reached.

New bid revealed last night worth over €6m has been accepted, Lukaku has also agreed all terms.

Verbal agreement so far, paperwork to be checked today.
Fabrizio Romano

I don't think Napoli would be opposed to getting rid of Lukaku right now, because preparations for the new season are ongoing, and he's still in Belgium and hasn't shown up for training camp with the team. I don't think Allegri needs a player like him, and neither do Napoli. Therefore, selling him to Fenerbahce would be a good decision.

If Luiz Enrique really wants him, that was just an opening bid--- €40m which is not enough to strike a permanent deal. Barca needs €55m at least. He's only 26 so there's a huge possibility that he would serve them their worth of money with a 4-year contract and he's not an injury-prone player. Meanwhile, Barca doesn't want to keep him in the club, maybe particularly because he missed the goal that should have given them a chance in the UCL against Atletico Madrid? I don't know... Infact, that would be too personal but the team lost interest in him from that moment onward.
As I explained, Ferran Torres' contract expires next year, offering 40 millions for a player you can sign for free in a few months is already a good offer in my opinion. I don't know exactly what is going on between Torres and Barcelona but I guess he expects to be offered a certain salary (especially after scoring in the World Cup final) but probably Barcelona have different plans.

When I saw the price that is involved in the negotiations between PSG and Barcelona, I also immediately thought that Barcelona could not ask for more (although it would be super logical even despite only one year of the contract) because they are again in a financial hole. Not only are they unable to offer him better terms, they are probably just happy to sell him and clear the payroll. I increasingly think that the transfer of Rodri was a stupid idea that Real Madrid rejected and Barcelona could not resist. They allocated him 30 million a year and now they will be held hostage to these expenses.

Joining Fenerbache is the best option for Lukaku and Napoli because both parties don’t want to work with each other again and Lukaku also want to leave with immediate effect, i wish he have a good season and give Fenerbache a good performance. I said that Fenerbache will definitely Challenge Galatasaray this season, after signing Greenwood and Muriqi from Mallorca, I said that the team is ready to challenge Galatasaray and we all need to watch Turkish league this season, because there will be a lot of pressure in the league, Trabzonspor, Galatasaray, Fenerbache, Besiktas and others teams are going to be looking forward to win a trophy this season, with the way Turkish league are signing players from top clubs, it looks like they are very serious to make the league look better than last season.

Wow?Really?40m for Martinelli is huge, but it has to be more than it consider he's EPL winner last season. In comparison, Gordon went to Barcelona for 70m and i don't think it's a sense price to let him go to Galatasaray with less than 70m. If it's 80m, it must be enough to get him.

However, Arsenal is yet to signing a high quality left winger. So it's unlikely they're selling him and Trossard in the same window.

Any arsenal fans here? Will you guys let him go for 40m to Galatasaray? Does selling him is a blunder for Arteta?

I think you need to look at the condition of the deal and even the salary structure of both players, yes Gabriel Martinelli and Anthony Gordon is of same age (25 years old) and yes if Gordon should move for that high amount then Arsenal fans have the right to ask for higher fees. But if you look at the stats of both players you would see that this Martinelli is no where near a 80 million player. While playing fewer matches than him Gordon has remotely played far more greater minutes and has had better goal contributions too, we all can see that as Martinelli for the past two to three seasons has been remotely used as a squad player and not usually a starter, with Madueke even ahead of him in the starting line up.

Now to the wages alone, Martinelli is on a £180k per week while Gordon was around £150k too per week at Newcastle and this are the little things that actually matter on signing fees that’s why Manchester United offered Rashford out for a fee around $40 million yet no buyers. Also Martinelli has just a year left on his Arsenal contract just like Trossard and the main reason why that amount is justifiable by Galatasaray. Although I strongly doubt that Arsenal will sell him off because they currently do not have options there. Except they will go in search of other options after then

I think the data is telling us the fact here. If we are comparing Martinelli to Gordon, it's obvious Martinelli is doing more than Gordon did. He also contributed more trophies to Arsenal. This is why i think to only compare him and gorden based their previous seasons perforamnce make no sense.

As for the wage, 30k sounds a small gap between both. However, Arsenal may not sell him unless they get a quality winger to replacement. Nevertheless they often doing unpredictable act just like when they signed Madueke..

Who knows they may also exchanged him for a young and proven winger.

It should be a no, although he wasn't effective as I wanted him to be for Arsenal last season, both in the Premier League Competition and also the Champions League competition. With the transfer market currently inflated, Arsenal will most definitely want to sell him for a much higher price.

The only competition should be the recently signed up Tzolis who came from Club Brugge, otherwise nobody  it is enough reason why I think he will not be sold out. If Vinicius junior had swinged towards Arsenal, then, he'd have been the third choice requesting for a move outta the club. The information is for from true, there's no such news about this at the moment.
I hope so. Arsenal has a bad reputation when it comes selling the player. It's so dumb if they let him go for 40m.

But Arteta didn’t buy him to keep him on the bench, he was bought so that he would settle into the team as quick as possible because of the tasks ahead. I who have been surprised if Arteta didn’t play Guimaraes, there’s little time for that season to start, so every player have to get some minutes so they all be fit for the new season. Pre season matches are the perfect place to hand new players the opportunity to impress the manager.

I’m not an Arsenal fan. But it seems Arsenal isn’t going to sell Martinelli to anyone. Especially not for 40 million, that’s a very low price. Besides, Arsenal just sold Trossard, so the only left wingers left are Martinelli and Christos Tzolis. That’s why I’m convinced Arteta doesn’t want to sell Martinelli, because if he did, he’d be making a huge mistake.

Talking about selling players, there's also some news that Miles Lewis Skelly has been made available by Arsenal and even offered him to Manchester United and Chelsea. He has been offered to Manchester United as a left back solution and then to Chelsea, but no developments yet. I can understand that this decision is as a result of the many players in the midfield of Arsenal, but I am thinking that considering that they have some defensive lapses with Saliba out, and Miles Lewis sKelly can play in a defensive position as well and also has built an understanding with the team it will be very important to Arsenal in the new season, and they need to find a way to keep him and then maybe sell off other players like Fabio Veira and even Havertz in my opinion to make sure they keep this young talent who can go on to become an Arsenal Legend.

What do you think of this new news from Arsenal, should Miles Lewis be Sold?

I don't know for sure, but my feeling is that Barca will release Ferran Torres to PSG.. even though PSG's final offer doesn't match what Barca wants, but seeing Ferran's desire to play at PSG, it makes Barca probably change their mind and accept the offer. Maybe later in return Barca will recruit another player to fill the position, because as far as I know they still have targeted players, or they will maximize their players to fill the position left by Ferran.

In my opinion, scoring the winning goal was the best thing for Ferran, but the fact that he's asking for more money means he's not very happy at Barcelona. If he wants to leave Barcelona for PSG, that's not a bad thing.

Barcelona can be a great club while a player is at his best, but considering what happened to Messi after he brought so much glory to the club and then left the way he did, I think Ferran wants much more, and it's not a bad idea for him to go to another club. Besides, he'd be going to a club that's a two-time back-to-back Champions League winner.

For Victor Osimhen, I'm very surprised that a lot of the top clubs aren't coming for his signature this summer.
It probably has to do with the fact that his current contract ends in 2029 and there's no release clause, so it'll surely cost a lot to convince Galatasaray to sell him. In addition, his disciplinary issues will be a headache for many managers & coaches.
- I've seen some unofficial reports mentioning Arsenal is interested as a direct result of Lukaku's move creating a domino effect (e.g., Jesus probably moving to Napoli and Arsenal going for Osimhen), but I highly doubt it.

Barcelona should let him go, if he's not ready to stay at the club. Does Ferran Torres think leaving Barcelona will help PSG win the Champions League? PSG are no longer the Champions League favorite, it will be a bad move if he insists on leaving Barcelona.

Barcelona are not looking at the side of Osimhen, he's the striker that is supposed to be the hottest in the transfer window.
You're sounding like a Barcelona faithful who's obsessed with Ferran Torres and is pained that he might leave the club to Paris Saint Germaine this summer. As it stands, Paris Saint Germaine are still one of the favourites to win the UEFA Champions League competition this season so it's very possible that Ferran Torres might end the season with UCL medal as a PSG player if he signs for them.

For Victor Osimhen, I'm very surprised that a lot of the top clubs aren't coming for his signature this summer. Barcelona's financial strength I don't think is enough to go for a player like Osimhen.
Oftentimes when a player moves to Turkey kind of goes off the radars of the European clubs, and Osimhen is an example. Also, let's not forget that Turkish clubs pay these players huge salaries in order to convince them to move there, so this creates an extra layer of problems because no one is going to offer the same salary.
