That's a good bet and I'm also in the same bet for the prediction market although maybe this just comes from a decision based on the favorite club but still I'm still not sure Barcelona can sign Rodri Cheesy.

Manchester City are always fooled by Barcelona in terms of transfers so they should not be stuck with the same conditions every transfer player.
Now 80 million will still be a price considered appropriate for Manchester City for Rodri despite his considerable age and the fact that his contract does not have much left.

Likely to happen.
1. There will be more manufer from Barcelona with increasing clauses.
2. Barcelona will let this end in the summer transfer window and will try to catch up again in the winter transfer window in the hope that Rodri does not renew the contract.
3. There are other clubs that will make this drama interesting. Madrid, who were previously strong candidates at this time, are still not moving and there could be a new clause given by Perez.

It looks like the bet didn't pay off; the parties reached an agreement. Now the price has dropped to 1.5 cents, which, by the way, is too high for me. I would have bought it again at 0.5 cents or less, since there's always the possibility of the deal falling through due to a medical examination.
When Real Madrid pulled out of the deal, there was no going back. 200+ million for Rodri over 4 years is complete nonsense. Real Madrid knows how to count, which is why everything is fine at Real Madrid and Barcelona is in debt.
The offer of 76.5 million did not seem to be left in vain and the drama ended quickly.
Our bet looks like it's gonna end tragically for now Cheesy. btw for now it looks like Madrid without any movement to continue the negotiations Rodri because they prefer to wait (more precisely provoke the attention of Barcelona) and now Barcelona has managed to sign an agreement. I wonder what Barcelona will do with their current cash flow.
Gordon 80 million plus adds on, Adeyemi 30 million plus adds on and now Rodri 76.5 million. It could be a new drama with the finances Barcelona have Smiley

In addition, with the transfer of Rodri to Barcelona currently Atletico and Villarreal benefit because Rodri has played in these 2 clubs. Villarreal received a bonus of 1.8 million and Atletico received 2 million.

Atletico Madrid and Villarreal set for multi-million windfall as Barcelona close in on Manchester City star Rodri

I'm seeing the rumor says that Mourinho approves a move for Zubimendi. Since Barcelona got best DMF in the world as a part of their team. So Real Madrid has to do the same thing. I think the idea to buy him out from Arsenal becomes an alternative idea. However, Zubimendi is far younger than Rodri, and he has active long term contract with Arsenal.

So buying him out will be a costly idea for sure. But they were able to paid so much money for Diomande. How can't they do the same to the proven player like Zubimendi? Honestly, the most damaging thing for Madrid is that unable to replace Rodri, and now they're not waking up, and they let Rodri goes to Barcelona.

I think the only best solution to also strengthen their club by signing an alternative to Rodri. Do you guys think to buy Zubimendi out from Arsenal is possible?

Rodri is a good addition to Barca, every team needs a midfielder who has the ability to slow things down to maintain an attacking/defensive balance and efficiency when things get too intense, Rodri can do that for them. With his presence, Pedri can fully focus on creating better attacks while he manages the defensive midfield and coordinates defense so that they're not overrun by opposition sharp counter attacks. He can create such balance in the team and with his experience and leadership qualities which he so displayed in the world cup, Barcelona would benefit very well from this investment
That's my fear for Barca, would Flick let him improve Barca's existing style of football or would he integrate Rodri to play strictly on the team's previous pattern of football. Some managers don't care about a player's individual skills, they orchestrate a strategy to change every player's style of play into obeying strategies they've designed for the club. An Example of what I'm saying is what happened between Amorim and Rashford.
That's right, it's a well known fact in football that when a new coach comes into the team, there's a tension between the player's own fundamental skills and the coach's own tactics. But Whatever happens between Amorim and Rashford, Rodri is one of those rare characters in football who can be the driving force behind any attacking or possession based system. Rodri's talent will not be limited by Flick's own dynamic style, but rather will better organize Barca's midfield.

Real Madrid didn't let him go, he suddenly changed his mind and decided to have an agreement with Barcelona, if Rodri accepted Real Madrid he would've been their player by now but it seems he was more comfortable with Deco's proposal than what Madrid had to offer, it a big lose to Madrid so the best thing is to move unto another alternative immediately.

The transfer window would be over soon so there's no time to wait, if Zubimendi is the best option they have in mind, they should be fast about it, i believe the player would be interested in Mourinho's call and since he won't be as costly as Enzo Fernandez, Real Madrid can afford his fee.

From what I've seen in the news, nothing is going to happen with Enzo Fernández for now. The club that wanted him wasn't willing to pay Chelsea's asking price (€120 million), so the Argentine has no choice but to stay at Chelsea.

His case is a bit different from Rodri's; there was a lot of noise and speculation, but in the end, I think City doesn't want to sell him for less than €80 million. Perhaps clubs are prioritizing other targets and leaving those expensive options as secondary alternatives.

Enzo Fernandez has returned to playing decidedly more concrete football, giving certainty to questions that fans have been asking for some time.

Chelsea is lucky that the team interested in him does not want to come forward for the requested fee because this gives the Blues the chance to play another championship with one of their best players in midfield.

Despite not having a release clause, there's still a possibility if Arteta and Berta approve it, but I highly doubt Zubimendi will force a move [he may not be our first and second choice DM, but with the amount of games Arsenal have to play (rotations) and the usual injuries that they'll get, I'm pretty sure that's still going to be enough for him to stay].

Rodri move to Barcelona came as a very big shock to many because Real Madrid has always been the team after this player for a very long time now. They waited for him to almost exhaust his contract with them before they’ll bring him to join the club.

I am still surprised for the u-turn from this player after showing interest in Real Madrid initially. He is a player that when he joins your team, your midfield issue is almost solved and get to control the ball most of the time. Congratulations to Barcelona, they’ll blend well in the midfield there since the players there are also his fellow countrymen men and colleagues in international level of football.

I wasn't moved though. He made it clear that he wanted to finish his career in Spain, it was obvious he wanted to stay with Real Madrid but that time Vinicious was having some unfinished contract deal, he was skeptical about it but one mind tells him he was going to leave and he wanfed to leverage that to get to the club but unfortunately Vinicious agents and Real Madrid came to good terms and immediately he went to meet the rivals Barcelona to sign a deal.

I hope he does not disappoint Barcelona, he wasn't around through last season and it affected his team. Although, Barcelona has good midfielders, I hope he is going to make a difference when they need him else it will will be a banter material for Real Madrid if they failed to win the league especially how he wanted to go there in the first place but later change to Barcelona.

I think he'll manage to reach an agreement with Man City, who are indeed looking for a midfielder. But it seems Man City is also considering the high price Chelsea is asking.

There are several reasons why Enzo Fernandez often faces jeers from fans, particularly due to the uncertainty surrounding his future at Chelsea.
Although he is a talented player, the discomfort caused by various issues could hinder his career progression at the club.
The steep asking price might prompt Manchester City to reconsider the signing, as there may be alternative midfield options available that would not require such a massive financial outlay for a player like Enzo Fernandez.

Real Madrid has got to make it best decision if they are actually going to consider for signing Zubimendi, Mourinho is pushing forward to see that things are going to be more better henceforth than before with Real Madrid, I'm surprised to see many that are always on the attacking side against Mourinho contacts over Real Madrid, but I think there is much to also expect now with the kind of pattern is trying to bring for what this new season and make some changes for better.

That seems outrageous to me, I don't know for anybody else. The Spanish guy wasn't supposed to go to the premier League in the first place imo, now they have replaced him.

When a team is desperate to sign a player, sometimes the intended club often times hike the price, I believe Real Madrid were desperate that's why they had to pay Leipzig that outrageous amount of money 2 weeks ago to sign a player and I see the same thing happening here concerning this transfer rumour. As the news says, that's Mourinho needs him and Arsenal knows Real Madrid is in need of a DM, they will exploit this as well as the market combined to get money from his sale and if Real Madrid are so desperate, they will sign him for that amount. Personally, I still feel that certain players really don't worth the amount of money being paid for them.

Enzo Fernandez has returned to playing decidedly more concrete football, giving certainty to questions that fans have been asking for some time.

He's a good player, but apparently he's been getting jeered by fans. That's not a good situation for him, and he might not feel comfortable playing. I think he'll manage to reach an agreement with Man City, who are indeed looking for a midfielder. But it seems Man City is also considering the high price Chelsea is asking.
Enzo Fernandez have already agreed personal term with Manchester city weeks ago, it now club to club talk. With Chelsea setting a deadline few days back, that he would only be sold for £120 million, but Manchester city failed to submit a bid. Now I don’t think chelsea will be selling for that amount again, he would be happy to see Enzo stay but for the right fee they are open to sell.

It really going to be a busy week, Manchester city are already thinking of submitting a bid, especially after that lose to Arsenal in the community shield. They need a midfield reinforcement and Maresca is very optimistic about Fernandez.

Arsenal have made their intentions clear that they will accept a deal with a better bid approach, and obviously Real Madrid has the capital to spare for this player since José Mourinho has insisted that he needs him to strengthen the midfield, but how much are we looking at? €90 million for a player that is already 27 and doesn't play a key role in a squad? That seems outrageous to me, I don't know for anybody else. The Spanish guy wasn't supposed to go to the premier League in the first place imo, now they have replaced him.
When a team is desperate to sign a player, sometimes the intended club often times hike the price, I believe Real Madrid were desperate that's why they had to pay Leipzig that outrageous amount of money 2 weeks ago to sign a player and I see the same thing happening here concerning this transfer rumour.
That means you haven't followed Real Madrid's history for a long time. Florentino Pérez usually doesn't have all the time to go back and forth if he really wants to have a certain player in the squad. It's a "go quick for the contract papers" kind of move and they have enough money to fund it, don't worry.
Quote
As the news says, that's Mourinho needs him and Arsenal knows Real Madrid is in need of a DM, they will exploit this as well as the market combined to get money from his sale and if Real Madrid are so desperate, they will sign him for that amount.
The good thing is, Arsenal  also has an interest on Vini (I'm not sure what the stance is at), so they should agree on simple terms; make a swap and balance up.

Bought by PSG and then immediately loaned to Aston Villa, in order to get decent playing time. So now Emiliano Martinez position is starting to shift? I don't know much about Suzuki, other than seeing his performance at the World Cup. A good career improvement, Suzuki just needs to be patient because to take the main goalkeeper position of Emiliano is definitely not easy.
I thought the deal for PSG to sign Suzuki from Parma collapsed but if PSG actually buy Suzuki and loan him to Aston Villa I'm happy for him because his performance for Japan in the World Cup was amazing, and signing a deal with PSG is his reward. Even though Emiliano Martinez is old he's still good and I don't think his position is starting to shift or under threat what I believe Aston Villa is doing is just to have a plan B in case Emiliano Martinez is injured his absence won't affect them.

Anyway, Man City needs a new midfielder after Rodri agreed to go to Barcelona. Even though there are other player options, it seems Man City still has a chance to make an offer to Chelsea. Even though the price might come down with tough negotiations, I’m sure Man City will have to pay quite a lot.

However, it’s clear that Arsenal actually has no intention of letting Zubimendi go. That said, Arsenal will still be open to letting the player go if someone dares to make an offer of 90 million euros for him.

And in my opinion, that figure is still within Real Madrid’s means. Because if Real Madrid is serious about signing Zubimendi, that price is indeed a fair one for the player. Besides, Real Madrid is currently in need of a defensive midfielder, and it seems that a player with Zubimendi’s qualities is exactly what Real Madrid needs. So, in my view, Zubimendi’s transfer to Real Madrid is something that could very well happen. The likelihood is quite high.

Jose Mourinho wasn’t specific about Zubimendi at all, his specifics is simply for the club to get him a central defensive midfielder and the option then was Rodri, so if Real Madrid doesn’t want to actually pay up around €70m for Rodri then we all should know that they wouldn’t be paying that similar amount or even higher for a player like Zubimendi who is currently struggling for playing time. Rather than going for Zubimendi I will rather they actually go for the option of signing Myles Lewis Skelly instead because I am sure he can he sold for a fee in the region of €40m to €50m.

After watching Manchester City yesterday I will say they truly need to sign Enzo Fernandez even if they get to sign Bouyaddi because they seriously lack midfield depth. Also I think Manchester City needs to act fast because the current situation at Real Madrid which is them looking for a defensive midfielder could bring them desperately back to Enzo Fernandez

I guess Rodrid is Barca's main target after they unable to get Alvarez. It's so sad Madrid missed big chance to sign him. So i see Barcelona is winning La Liga again with this transfer.
So because Real Madrid didn't sign Rodri means they will not win the league or because if Barcelona signs Rodri means they will win the league? Get off your assumptions because wether Real Madrid signs Rodri doesn't mean they will win any league, Barcelona doesn't even need Rodri to win the league, they have already been doing it. At no point in time has Real Madrid been interested in signing Rodri, he offered himself and the club still wasn't interested. Last summer he did the same while recovering from injury, Real Madrid snubbed him, same this season. The club has a policy and they are maintaining such. His not a priority to either of the two teams, if he were Barcelona would have already signed him by now instead of stalling the deal this far. Other clubs are not that interested because if they were Barcelona won't have been the only team in contention, stop saying it as if, Rodri is the key to either Real Madrid or Barcelona winning the league.
You can disagree with me, but we can't deny the fact that having a world class DMF like him is gonna strengthen club's defense especially for a team that played highline defensive like Barcelona. Where can you get a DMF who won ballon d'or and golden ball with very cheap price like that?

Other than that having him would also boost the leadership in the club.

I tell you Barcelona was doing better in the last two seasons, and they are doing it better by signing him. If Madrid sign Rodri, it would also help them so much in midfield instead of let him go to strengthen their rival.

Midfield playing the biggest role in controlling the rythm, and boost more confidence to win the game. You can't sure to win all of european trophies by only having Tchouameni and Camavinga in your squad for now.

I just confirmed it and you're right. José never asked for him but supported his transfer move since he was forced on the sales radar, after his team made a successful  move for, and contract completion with new castle's Bruno Guimaraes. Lots and lots of advantage if they go for Lewis skelly as he's only 19--- I always like to consider the age factor for any new signings. Don't expect an old player to perform a certain type of magic. Let's learn from Modric's transfer to Ac milan.
