Enzo is worth that price, if they can buy Diomande for €140 then Enzo is definitely worth that price,
I can only consider delap and "throwing away money" because that guy is so bad at football, I honestly don't know what Chelsea told notheham forest that made them buy him at that price man. I really hope he manages to get better and they don't regret their actions

Of course Enzo Fernandez is far better than Diomande, i don't even know what Real Madrid saw in that player or is it because he's just 19 years of age and has a promising career ahead? Even at the World Cup he didn't even contribute much for his country Ivory Coast and his performance in the first 3 matches of Real Madrid was very poor, he couldn't even make any impact.
For Liam Delap, it could be because they signed him from a top club that is why Nottingham Forest payed that amount. delap has already shown that he is a wasted signing because he has gotten a hamstring injury which will last for almost 8 weeks or more. Nottingham Forest could be regretting why they signed him because they were expecting to use him in the early matches of the season but now that he has been injured, he won't play till after 2 months.

Real Madrid Yan Diomande signing was surprising especially for someone that hasn't even played in the Champions League and it was a blatant fraud, this is the issue I have with Barcelona, after grooming players, they tend to sell them in chicken changes, imagine wanting to sell Casado for 25M.

I genuinely think this EPL are using there players for money laundering as the prices they sell players are too huge, imagine that Anderson signing from Nottingham Forest, it was not worth it, then Enzo's signing again shows how much this teams spend

Yan Diomande signing is still one of the biggest shocker, if not the biggest shocker in this transfer window,  all eyes will be on him always because the fee was too wild.
I think Barcelona issues there will be their sporting director or anyone having much say on their transfer. Regardless, they can still be seen as team who get the better of other teams or players during transfer negotiations.

I sincerely feel sorry for Delap, hopefully he comes back better and aside this injury I expect Forest to be patient with him and maybe by then they will see the best of him.

Not money laundering,  it's a tradition in England to buy from rival to weakening them, that's why rival sell tuier players very high to other rival,  they all know what they're doing,  to stay top of other leagues, the premier league have to spend so much to keep their best players in the league, even if it takes to rotate it within the clubs.

We all know Anderson signing to Manchester city was hyping,  he's not worthy of the amount Manchester city bought him, since his English player, the media has to hype him, after one good season with Nottingham forest,  I'm happy Manchester United didn't sign him, I don't like one season player, I like player that has proven him self for years.  Enzo Fernandes to Manchester city is fair enough,  he's an elite player than Anderson.

Enzo Fernandez to Man City is one of the biggest signing in the EPL this season, but I think the price is too high. I know Enzo is a world class player, but €125m is much.

Enzo Fernandez move to Manchester City is definitely the biggest transfer this summer,  but I don't think we should be sating he is not worth the price Manchester City paid, because considering how inflated the market has been, then it's a good price for him. He is a player with a lot of quality and he will definitely improve the Manchester City midfield and the team in general,  so I think it's a good business for all parties involve.
I was a bit surprised by this transfer. There were no rumors, suddenly the transfer became a deal. Without a doubt, it was the best transfer, Manchester City made a great decision. Enzo Fernandez was the best emerging player of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and he also performed brilliantly in the 2026 World Cup and took Argentina to the final. Do you remember his two goals against Egypt and against England? He scored at crucial times and contributed significantly to Argentina's victory. In both matches, Argentina was very close to defeat, the goals he scored helped Argentina come back. His control in the midfield is also great, he has the ability to run and play the whole 90 minutes. So it can be said without a doubt that Manchester City's midfield is going to be very strong this season.

Sometimes I don't want to consider or see things from such light because why there were big names we went for who ended as flop, the most annoying were those who were upcoming stars and then did so poorly. You know the points where every other big teams were going for a popular star and you know for a fact that your team can pull such deal but yet they are spending sometimes big for a talent who will be loaned out and others who will underperform.
I’m not really current that much with Chelsea squad these days , but when you said upcoming starts then I guess you’re referring to  Gernacho, Estevao , Pedro , Guiu… and among those that I just listed , I will only say Guiu is the one that may have a bit of setback since he doesn’t get enough playing time just like when he was in Barca..

Others like Jackson, Delap , Fofana and more like big names..

Anyway, I hope it all changes this season for better.. Chelsea fans already suffered enough along with Maanchester fans   Cheesy.

All of a sudden, I no longer understand the EPL transfer business. I do not blame the person that said they are using transfer business for money laundering lol.

There are no much exceptional players in this generation but they are selling for so much. Every club has perfected the football business except for Manchester United. It is Manchester United that demarkets her own players. Imagine that Rashford was a free agent for some time and there was no club to sign him for less but they are willing to pay much for other players

In my opinion, Manchester United should go back to the drawing board and learn to protect and value their players in order not to crash their price in the transfer market.

But recently signing fees is becoming so huge for an individual player, I tend to agree with you that this huge transfer fees is a way to keep this important player in England.

It's obvious that you're not really current because some of the players you mentioned have been sold by Chelsea, Garnacho and Jackson ate currently Aston Villa players while Delap was sold to Nottingham forest but the other ones are still very useful that's why they're not sold Estevao and Pedro especially have roles to play in Xabi Alonso's squad.

Atleast Chelsea's board spends on the team, you can see that they're trying their best but haven't got good result from their effort yet but Manchester United's best is like that of some mid table teams, how can they qualify for Champions League and fail to strengthen their defense, Manchester United fans would suffer many heartbreaks this season, i feel pity for my boyfriend.

They don't set the bars high because they feel they will get destroyed by the players when he leaves the club, there are factors that are considered and one is the club in question is desperate for the player and two is if the still has an existing contract then the fees to break the contract is also attached to the deal 🤝 especially when it's still a long term contract.

For the price hike, have you seen the price tag on Enzo Fernandez's deal to Manchester City? I mean WTF, it's not like he is not a good player and shit, but for me that price is way too much for a player like Enzo Fernandez. I really don't know what's happening with transfers in the English Premier League, because at the moment everything is super hyped and expensive.

80% of the players you mentioned are no longer Chelsea players. Maybe you don't know Sanchez. Chelsea's goalie has been sold  Grin

Jackson is at Aston Villa, a replacement for Watkins. Delap is at Nottingham Forest, a replacement for Awoniyi. Garnacho is also at Aston Villa. Pedro and Estevao are still with the club.

Don't fail to watch Arsenal vs Chelsea on Sunday. You already missed a lot.

I think Delap felt the pressure more at Chelsea, which made his performances very bad, especially if we look at the performance. Because the goals were very few compared to the minutes played and the chances he was given. Now with the move to the new team he will certainly be used more and perhaps with less pressure he will be able to do better.
I don’t know why Delap performed so poorly at Chelsea, maybe Chelsea is just too big for him, pressure was too much on him at Chelsea, and that’s why he ended up performing poorly at Chelsea. Delap is currently at Nottingham forest, I don’t know what’s so special about him that made Nottingham forest signed him, I just hope he will perform well at Nottingham forest, because his performance was just so terrible at Chelsea, and most Chelsea fans wanted him to leave the club. Chelsea didnt give Delap much playing time because of his poor performance, let’s see if he will be able to get more playing time at Nottingham forest.

It's a tradition in England to buy from rival to weakening them, that's why rival sell tuier players very high to other rival,  they all know what they're doing,  to stay top of other leagues, the premier league have to spend so much to keep their best players in the league, even if it takes to rotate it within the clubs.

Please I want to know when it became a tradition for rival teams to buy each other's players to strengthen their squad. The EPL is a versatile league where it is not always easy to predict a team that will win the league and which opponent will be the strongest contender, unlike the La Liga where the traditional 3 teams namely; Barcelona, Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid battle for who wins the La Liga. Some players that were signed among English teams didn't really worth those amount but since the Premier league is known for their huge transfer offers, it is not a thing anymore. The Premier League is one of the most decorated football league in the world so they always like to be in the news at the time.

I genuinely think this EPL are using there players for money laundering as the prices they sell players are too huge, imagine that Anderson signing from Nottingham Forest, it was not worth it, then Enzo's signing again shows how much this teams spend

I don’t think the guy know what his talking about by saying that the premier league are using there player for money laundering, football is all about business, and you have to what is best for business, selling of players is part of the business, considering how players are expensive now in the Premier League is because of the quality of the League, and the money from the TV rights, which is something that is providing huge benefits for them, the market is very big now that you have to pay huge amounts of money to buy quality players, so I don’t blame any team paying huge amounts of money for players, because when Premier League clubs goes to buy player in any League is always different the price would always be inflated.

Taking Mega players out of their cross town competitors has been an English football norm in an attempt to disrupt the balance of the opposing team. The high influx of capital through the industry of entertainment worldwide makes elite teams have the flexibility to pay high release clauses. Poaching local competitors has so far worked well in ending the successive reign of the strongest competitors in the pursuit of league championships.

This lack of title monopoly by a few clubs makes managers risk a lot of money to have sure footed pillars in the local competitions. It is because the turnover of money is high hence transfer fees, which is inflated, will no longer be a problem of long-term balance sheets of the management. The big show of English league requires each giant to control the newsroom by means of sensational expenditure games.

He was a very good player at Leeds United before Chelsea signed him, he was one of the best young strikers that season, he did so well which dragged the attention of so many big teams towards signing him, but it was Chelsea that was privileged to signed him; and when he arrived, a lot was expected from him, that pressure alone is enough for him to flop, but another factor that affects him was how the entire Chelsea team performed last season, they didn’t do well overall, that poor performance affected almost all Chelsea players including Cole Palmar, because of these reasons, we can’t blame Delap for flopping, and we wish him to perform better in his new team.

It's normal cause it's happened on several occasions but not a tradition cause it can only happen if the player accepts to leave and team accepts selling. What yoi said about the EPL is true, over there even the weakest team is a threat on a normal day and could frustrate a bigger team from getting points if they underrate them.

You can't compare the investors in the EPL with that of other leagues and their broadcasting deals are very high so why won't there be inflation in the transfer? That's what made their players costly not cause they pay heavily to rotate and keep players in the team like he said, else why didn't they pay to keep Cristiano Ronaldo, Hazard, Bale, and many quality players that left.

Money Laundering? Help explain to us how this happens without being noticed and subjected to fines and bans.

What I know is that there is a lot of money in the English Premier League, from broadcasting revenue, good sponsorship deals, huge international fanbases leading to bigger merchandise sales, and profitable international pre-season tours compared to the other leagues.

This is why even the club at the bottom can afford to pay a huge amount for a player.

yes we might be saying that the prices of players actually is inflated which is right but money laundering is the most ridiculous thing to say. The premier league is the most watched league in the world and this even givens them edge to earn more in broadcasting and commercials.

Do you know that a team that gets relegated from the premier league collects around £120 million and this is 5x greater than that of their counter parts in other league and even similar amount to top club finishes in other leagues plus there is like £40 million relief funds again. So the money is there.

But the place of logic is that the premier league offers more flexibility in the way clubs can spend their money than the other leagues which certain restrictions.

Thanks for breaking it down for him, there is a reason why premier league remains the biggest league in the world. The amount of money that is generated in English football, but the the premier league but even the championship is unbelievable. From the wages they place their players you will know that they generate so much money from the league.

So mate there is no money laundering in the premier league, the league just happens to generate so much money from what was listed for you. Do you even know how much is a tickets to watch a premier league game. Make research mate.

Enzo Fernandez to Man City is one of the biggest signing in the EPL this season, but I think the price is too high. I know Enzo is a world class player, but €125m is much.
Not only is it the biggest signing in the EPL this season, but Enzo’s transfer has also tied Isak’s record as the most expensive player in the EPL. This transfer has also set several other records, including making Enzo the only player ever to be signed for over £100 million in two separate transfers, as well as the most expensive signing in Manchester City’s history. However, I think the £125 million price tag isn’t excessive, because in terms of quality, he’s definitely worth that price.
Despite being only 25 years old, he's had a fantastic career, and we know every team wanted him. At the start of the season, there were rumors that Real Madrid wanted him, but Manchester City managed to sign him. I see they spent something like ~145 million Euros on him. It was definitely worth it.
I don't think you can yet say that the money that Manchester City has spent on bringing Enzo Fernandez to their team is worth it yet until he plays and performs at a level that justifies that amount because personally I feel that amount is overrated for a player like him and only what makes him valuable is the fact that he's a World Cup winner and was a very important member of the team that won the World Cup then Otherwise I feel there are other better midfield options in the market and the change from Rodri to Enzo Fernandez is a downgrade.
I agree with you, Fernandez still has to prove it was the right investment, but to be fair, considering all the crazy (and senseless) transfers we've seen during the past months, Fernandez's evaluation is the less crazy one. I know it sounds weird but at least he proved himself as a great player. Can we say the same about other players paid almost like him? Probably not.
