In this Ronaldo controversy, I stand well with Jose Mourinho!

He's point of view is that the coach invited Ronaldo, if he was not going to need Ronaldo, or use him effectively, he shouldn't have invited him. I am even saying that, before inviting Ronaldo, he should have been able to communicate him that he will be playing him for only 45mins, 30 mins or so, as the case may be.

You don't invite Ronaldo and begin to act drama. Ronaldo has done a lot for the Portugal team and should not be disrespected. We also know that Ronaldo is so ambitious and has 1000th carrer goals he is pursuing. So, he was supposed to have some playing time to score a few goals.

Of a truth, age is against Ronaldo but he is not that bad as he is projected to be... Portugal should have protected Ronaldo.
I think the coach used Ronaldo to get the Portuguese coaching job fully, I listened to the interview where the journalist was asking him some questions, it was clear he wanted to leave but the coach convinced him not to, he said they had a conversation which means he was made some kind of promises, these promises is not made clear to the public but from simple sense, he was promised game time. He was benched and to me that's not a problem, his old and cannot keep on playing full time in all the matches, every can understand this part, coach was right on this aspect. Ronaldo reportedly warmed up for 30 minutes and was not used, how do you tell a player like Ronaldo to warm up for that long and not use him. First disrespect from the coach, the second was on the press interview. There are people who have attained certain kinds of status in life and you cannot do this to them and they will sit with it.

Well, I don't know what Jose Mourinho has said about the ongoing issues with the Portuguese national team and Cristaino Ronaldo, but I don't need anyone to tell me that it was a clear disrespect towards Cristaino Ronaldo.

Nobody gave a flying fvck about this Portuguese national team until Cristaino Ronaldo came in. Jorge Jesus said something else to him behind close doors and chose to do something else entirely. The moral lesson is that, humans are purely ungrateful, a champion and hero like Cristaino Ronaldo shouldn't have been treated that way.

Did you all observe Bruno Fernandes and Vitinha last night? They couldn't show class during the FIFA World Cup Competition, but they all of a sudden turned iconic last night. You could see the hate and dislike they have towards Cristaino Ronaldo.

This is where some coaches makes mistakes,  they at times believe they have the final say because they are the head of the team without knowing there are some mistakes you see and consider it common without knowing the gravity of such mistakes. At first he was the same person that invited Ronaldo into the team maybe just to humiliate and make mockery of him when he knows the amount of energy Ronaldo has invested just to transform the Portuguese team. On this the coach needs to rethink and maybe find how to handle this situation because Ronaldo is not just  player one can joke with

Everyone is just talking as if such thing doesn't happen in football where a player can be told to warm up but the coach ends up not giving them any playing time. We are all being sentimental in this case, and it shows that a lot of people are not emotionally intelligent. The match was still ongoing and the tempo was high which implies that there was no need of bringing in Ronaldo at that time.

Saying that Jorge Jesus used Ronaldo to get a permanent job is very ridiculous because Jorge Jesus was not even under any pressure. If someone meant that he wants to retire, is that supposed to be a personal decision or it will require a public opinion before they will consider it. Ronaldo's statement lacks credibility, that's just it.

If the club is to address anything in Manchester united, they need defense. Look at Luke shaw, that guy is 31 years, he is prone to injury. They shouldn't rely on such kind of left back. Look at Dalot too, I'm not seeing their engagement in the team. The team also need more wingers, I don't think Rashford is a kind of player anyone would depend on for now, he is not playing to the club expectations.

Manchester United really need an overhaul of their team, you already mentioned a out their defense,  especially the left and right back. They also can't rely on Rashford as you have mentioned,  but I think they need more than that. Their midfield is very average and they also have a lot of average players in the team. If they really want to start competing again, they need to get the team fixed, by bringing in good players that can uplift the team.

How can we tell if a player is an average player or not, most of the players brought to Manchester United past and present where considered over average players but when introduced they turn below average players.  I think for now the problem of Manchester United has gone above expectation and needs proper scrutiny before concluding on the cause of their problems. Just in the last concluded transfer window,  Telis and Carlos where rated above average players for both Aston Villa and Brighton but after been introduced with hope of changes, all is still the same, though Carlos is yet to be introduced because of injuries but who knows how his performance would be if introduced.

Their rightback is manageable, maybe the could sell either of Dalot or Mazraoui then replace the one they choose to sell with an upgrade but their priority should be leftback and the central defense, Maguire and Martinez are due to leave they're becoming too slow and be relied on to compete against Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Yeah they still need a winger, but it's a backup striker is more important than that currently although they would've still loaned Rashford then use Cunha and Dorgu or any of the quality use player as right winger. Ineos really messed up in this summer window but i hope they’ll try amend it buy January.

It could be a good moment for Cristiano to end his professional career but looking at what he wants to achieve as a final treat for 1000 goals before retiring completely from football it looks like he will still continue to play at least until the end of the season.

Cristiano has scored 979 goals in all competitions and just 21 more for him to achieve his ambitions.
He is too old but his ambition is still very much felt so for this tournament in the Nations League and his season in the SPL it is likely that this will be the last season if the target is achieved but we do not know if until the end of the season 21 goals have not been realized because it could be that he will continue to be ambitious given the character that Cristiano has.
I criticize Ronaldo for the way he is behaving with the Portuguese national team, because he should have retired from the international career after the World Cup, but retiring completely from football now it wouldn't make any sense: as you pointed out he is only 21 goals away from an achievement that is going to last for a long time, and anyway he would be the first in the history of football, so I'm sure he'll keep playing until he reaches the 1,000 goals.
We know Cristiano's ego and ambition will never change when he wants to achieve his goals so with the situation that is happening now even though we are quite sorry for his behavior in the Portugal national team that should have been over but we also can not do much just need to give him respect.

Currently 21 goals can still be achieved until the end of the season (this possibility is still great) so for now he will definitely continue to force himself to be on the field even though there are many pros and cons about it.
For 1000 goals he will be the second because right now it is Pele who is still the first for 1000 more goals in his professional career although I do not know how he did it first Cheesy
I agree that Ronaldo must be respected but let me you ask this: does Ronaldo respect his teammates and his coach? Because, in my opinion, he doesn't. What he did a few days ago has no excuses. In situations like this the priority is the team, never the single player. But, as I explained, he thinks he's above everybody else, therefore he doesn't care about the consequences of his actions.
And I'm sure he is extremely pissed off that without him Portugal managed to win two very difficult matches away.

With what he's done for the team so far I think he's definitely above everyone and as such he should be given that special benefits. Ronaldo hasn't disrespect any of the coaches unless they start it at first. He's always given his best to the team and has been one of the most professional footballer I have known. Just put yourself in his shoes, after given so everything to the team and they decide to repay you that way you will feel hurt and that's exactly what Ronaldo is feeling. Not like his approach of reacting is good but I can't blame him much in all this.

You don't know what's in his mind so don't make assumptions. I don't think Ronaldo will be pissed about their victories without him, he loves his country and wouldn't wish them bad just because of this.

Ronaldo is 41 years old. It doesn't make any sense that he's still being called up for the national team. What's the plan? Play in the next Euro Cup, when he'll be 43 years old? Or maybe the next World Cup, when he'll be 45 years old? I'd really like to have an answer because I really don't understand what he's still doing there.

We don't need to be sentimental about this bro. Ronaldo is not as active as he uses to be in the past, so he cannot always start or be involved in the game, but where I fault the coach was his man management of this situation, because he should have spoken to Ronaldo personally after the game he was bench all through to reassure him how important he was for the team, that the only reason he did not play was because they were trying to preserve their lead, so they went for someone younger, that can press and defend from the front. So the coach doesn't do anything bad aside bad player management, because if he has managed this situation better, Ronaldo is not that unreasonable to walk out of the Portuguese team.

You're not wrong it doesn't really makes any sense playing at 40+ years and still expect to be treated as before. We've not seen many players manage this long but Ronaldo has proven to be active despite being this old even though his performance is not as it used to be he still deserves more respect IMO.

He already hint at his retirement some time ago and I think his plan is to retire soon, probably after this season according to him. Now he knows he can't keep playing for long so he doesn't have much time left. There's no way he can keep playing till 45 years. See link below.

Quote
"I had a conversation with our president, with our coach. I still believe that I'm able to help the national team to reach what they want, and will finish when I feel like I'm not doing anything here.

"I think I can give to the national team my support, not only through the goals, but also outside of football.

"This is a new young generation. But for me the basic point is to be able on the pitch to score the goals and to help the team win games."

I think you forget that Ronaldo has ever mentioned it. So i won't put the blame to the Portugal's coach because he said that he asked president and coach for the chance to still play in the portugal team.

It's not the good decision for him for rage quitting after he got benched for a game. He at least must show some respect, and i think he's also deserve the blame too for now knowing his position.

I tell you an old player is getting replaced by the young player is nature in the football. Portugal veteran was also getting replaced by him when he was young.

So it's the cycle of football and i hope he announces his official retirement to the public instead of dragging down this problem to be much longer.

Did you all observe Bruno Fernandes and Vitinha last night? They couldn't show class during the FIFA World Cup Competition, but they all of a sudden turned iconic last night. You could see the hate and dislike they have towards Cristaino Ronaldo.
Does this even add up? so what you are saying in essence is that Vitinha and the likes of Bruno Fernandes will just because they hate Ronaldo deny themselves a chance of winning the world cup just to frustrate him? what kind of thought is that? as much as we love and respect everything that Christian Ronaldo represents, he should be calming down sometimes because ideally, he is not bigger than the Portugal team and just as he is trying to protect his reputation, others in the team also has a reputation and personality to protect. everything will not always be about him.

It’s laughable to even claim that, hahaha. Is the Portuguese national team going to fail just because a few players hate Cristiano Ronaldo? Grin Cristiano Ronaldo is a player who brought great success to Portugal in the past and has become a true legend of the game. To some, he is perhaps the greatest player football has ever seen. Maybe his biggest mistake was not retiring from football if he had hung up his boots when he left Manchester United instead of going to Saudi Arabia, he would be remembered differently today. Nowadays, people just spew hate at him.

There is a time for everything, Ronaldo was once the most important player in the team, but with the change of time and with the increase in age, Ronaldo has lost that place. After keeping him on the bench for the entire time of the first match, the coach had the same decision in the second match that he would be kept on the bench, that is, the coach's decision was clear that he would not include Ronaldo in the starting eleven and Ronaldo may have understood this, which is why he left his practice camp and as soon as the coach heard the news of his departure, he gave his jersey number to another player in the team. I understand that Ronaldo was wrong here and he may be banned according to the rules, but I still do not understand how logical the decision was to give his iconic jersey number to another player so quickly.

Honestly Endrick is a laughable player. It's hard to understand the way he's thinking about his career. He started to gain his form when he loaned to the Lyon and why doesn't he ask his club to extend his loan?

He came back to the Madrid only for getting sidelined by Mourinho. They have Espi, Diomande even Brahim diaz who rarely got minutes. So how can he get minutes now?

I meant he's often being deployed as winger instead of striker. So he has to realize he no longer has place in Madrid. Being so obsessed to stay is only killing his career.

He shall ask his club to let him go as loan at winter window or sell him permanently to the other club. They have to stop treat him like a deadwook on the bench.

What a disappointment from him. I believe things don't change for him. He has to leave, and learnt from what happened to the Odegaard when he unable to break into the staring line up of Madrid's los galacticos, then decided move to Arsenal.

You asked what's the plan, if he would play in the Euro or WC. The question should be, did he call himself up for international duties after the WC? Of course not, so I'm puzzled at you asking what his doing there. I thing I have come to understand Ronaldo for, it's his desire to play no matter how insignificant one would think that competition is. Ronaldo has earned his place among elite players, I remember when Zidane was the coach of Real Madrid, he called Ronaldo and explained to him why he wouldn't be playing him in every games but important ones, he understood and the result of that decision was 3 consecutive champions league and we all saw how important Ronaldo was to the winning of those trophies. Ronaldo is 41 and can never do what he used to do before, why did they coach and FA president decide to convince him to stay, what was there motive? You're keeping him for commercial purposes why not come out straight and tell him, you will part of the team strictly for this reason, if it's ok by him he will accept, if not he will decline.
