Cesc Fabregas replacing Michael Carrick as a Manchester United manager is the weirdest rumor I've heard so far. AFAIK, Fabregas is coaching the small Italian ream of Como and he's gonna play in the UEFA Champions League against Man United. Fabregas is doing to good job in Italy and I doubt that he would risk his career taking United's offer. He will return to the Premier League at some point for sure, but gaining experience in a smaller club should be his top priority.
That would not be the case for now maybe later, if you knew that Fabregas was the main axis at Como FC. You could say he's the brain of the club itself, even the owner of Como himself who said in one of the podcas that he would not detain Fabregas, even if today he asked to go, the door open for him. But seeing the Como project in the hands of Fabregas, anyone can know choosing Como is better than Manchester United whose condition is in disarray.
One more thing, Como is not a small club anymore, if you know. Cheesy

What have Como achieved in football since their history as a club. Sometimes, people forget that you cannot use oranges to compare apples because there is a big difference. What Manchester United needs is good defenders and if Carrick cannot improve the team is for them to hire a better coach and United will be back on their feet.

Fabregas has transformed Como doesn't mean that he can do the same thing in Manchester United because the club is bigger than him due to the management decisions for him. He wouldn't be allowed to do his thing all alone.

Carrick is safe for now but let’s not kid ourselves. If the Man Utd job was available, I think Fabregas would be desperate to take it. He’s doing well with Como but the salary and prestige of managing Man Utd totally eclipses anything Como can give him.

Do you think he would leave Como after everything he has done and go to a club that has had problems for years? I agree that Man Utd is a big club and the salary would definitely be higher, but i don't think he would manage Man Utd at this point. I also agree that Carrick is safe for now.

Most managers are not all about the hype and prestige but building a team that is long lasting, and with what Fabregad is doing with Como, it would be unwise to end that and join Manchester united with the whole pressure and expectations at the moment. This was the same mistake that Amorim made after leaving Sporting to Manchester United and was humiliated by fans and players before his departure.

Carrick is actually safe right now but could be at the risk of losing his job if there is no improvement with Manchester United's performance.

What are you guys even saying? Has it gotten to this extend to compare Como to Manchester United? So long as I know Como is no where near Manchester United both past and present, if Manchester united should face Como today I wouldn't hesitate to pick Manchester united wining over Como, and if Fábregas is sure of himself he should come to Manchester United, i bet his case will be like that of Xabi Alonso, that everyone believe he's the new Sir Alex, like this disrespect on Manchester United is becoming too much, the management should better do something.

Fabregas has a big project with Como, so it's very unlikely that he would leave Como anytime soon. Besides, Como just made history by playing in the UCL for the first time. Moreover, Fabregas has thought things through carefully before considering an offer from Manchester United because accepting that offer would be like indirectly killing his career. We can see coaches like ETH, Amorim and many others before them, all coaches at Manchester United ended badly.

Indeed, coaching Manchester United is not easy; there’s a lot of pressure that comes with it very different from coaching Como where there's little pressure and the full control of the game strategy is with the coach. Carrick currently fits Manchester United and even though he hasn't had success there, his career as a coach isn’t ruined. But if he manages to keep Manchester United in the top 4 this season his coaching career will skyrocket.

It's a baseless rumor, and i think it's most probably a fake one. As far as i know Cesc Fabregas only have Arsenal or Chelsea as the possible destination to coach. He has zero clue about Manchester United, and he will not go there. Aside that he also has Barcelona as alternative option. So i think this rumor has zero possibility to be real.
You never can really tell where a player or coach will head next, things happen differently now and no known destination is guaranteed for anyone. Today a player or coach could say they are not going here and might end up there. Besides Fabregas coaching Arsenal won't be anytime soon, he just signed a contract renewal till 2030 and from his performances, Arsenal is doing just fine. I can agree with you on Chelsea or Barcelona because the managers of these teams are unstable with Chelsea been the worse, Barcelona has retained Flick for 3 seasons now and his doing perfectly well

Quote
Como manager Cesc Fabregas has a release clause in his contract that would allow him to leave for Barcelona, Arsenal or Chelsea for a relatively low fee, according to
@DiMarzio

The former midfielder is under contract until 2028 and intends to stay at Como.

https://x.com/ChrisWheatley/status/2104911273809129682

Im doubting it. MU can't provide enough support for Carrick to rebuilt the team, and Febregas is obviously learning a lesson if Carrick gets sacked by MU. If he goes there, he will have the same fate as carrick. He will get very big burden to achieve everything while the club owners can only milking his club.

It's no way he is wasting the career he built in Como from bottom to the top just to gamble on coaching a club that is not serious in building a winning club. Believe me, if you give him two choices between MU or Chelsea, he will pick Chelsea. He has even special release clause for the clubs he ever played.

Logically, managing a club you ever played with is far easy than managing a club that you didn't never know about. He's not dumb enough to gamble his career for that.

Barcelona, Chelsea or Arsenal are his preffered choice for the future.

You are right, moving to United will shatter his career. Cesc Fabregas started his coaching career with Como, and in his first season he help them qualify for their first ever UCL competition. We don't often see managers being successful in their first season. Fabregas is just beginning his managerial career, moving to a demanding club like United can put him under pressure and maybe spoil his career. He still has a long way to go at Como.

The problem of United is not the coach, the problem is the defence. United failed to get defenders during the transfer window, and now we can see how it's affecting them. Carrick is a good manager, and don't see any reason why he should be sacked.

If it were Messi approaching closer to 1000 goals, I'm sure all Argentine players would make sure Messi broke that record, I feel sorry for Ronaldo, he needs to retire and focus on club level, that is where he can attain the goal-scoring records.
You get what you give.
Have you wandered why Messi teammates love him so well to the extent of being very sopportive even on a personal level?

Take out time and check out Ronaldo's interview on awards him and his teammates gets, most times he always takes credit for the teams achievements like he only is the reason for their achievements, he never fails to use "I" instead of "we"
This might be little but accumulation of this and other similar behaviors I could not mention will make his team mate's loose respect for him, and at the end of the day when he faces things like this it looks like his teammates just choose to treat him that way without cause.

Messi clearly does the opposite, even from his farewell speech you can tell why his team mates love him so much.

Maybe if both managers didn't opt gor Manchester United their glwas wouldn't have been so clear or better still they would have done better but still there is still a possibility they might not have continue dominating their respective leagues.

They may have just succeeded based on the the team synergy they were having, Erik Ten Hag tried to brig same team but still nothing was successful.

I honestly doubting it.

Coaching Manchester United will ruin his career.  We've seen how it impacted the likes of Erik ten hag and Ruben Amorim.  There were young coaches who were building team that was dominant in their league and was regarded as top coach.  Until Manchester United happened to them. That club issue has gone beyond find the right manager, the problem is within the club system.  Mourhino and Ralf ragnick complained about the same thing on why the club isn'tdoing well loke their rivals.  They need saving, they haven't been able to find the right path  since sir Alex ferguson. It's really damaging the club structure, and  if there's no solution, the future of Manchester United as a big team won't be certain anymore. Fabregas should just focus on building his Como , till when opportunity arises from Barcelona,Arsenal and Chelsea.

It will be like the decision of Xabi who went to Madrid from Leverkusen or Amorim who went to Manchester United after he did well at Sporting Cheesy

Sometimes being at such a big club will create exposure and incredible career gains but that is on a note if the coach is able to lift the performance and now Fabregas does not have to gamble with his career just beginning because the situation will be complicated not only about Fabregas but this will also have an impact on Como.

At the moment Como is in good faith because the coach and players are the main pillars, when one of these aspects leaves then the club will definitely experience a decline in performance again (most likely it will be like this). In addition, Fabregas will also not have any guarantees even though he also knows how the EPL is as a player but the view of the player and the coach is not the same so if this happens then I doubt he can succeed.

Manchester United completely fell apart after Sir Alex Ferguson left. Many good managers have come and have all failed at the club. What tactic is Fabregas going to try that Ole, Mourinho, and the other managers that have been sacked didn’t try. IMO if Manchester United are going to compete again at top level, they need to change ownership from INEOS.

I think it's a bit unfair to call COMO a small team, since they've moved beyond that status and have become a force to be reckoned with in Serie A. As for Fabregas becoming Manchester United's coach, I think that's just a rumor, since Fabregas is still focused on coaching Como and wants to stay with the team for a while longer... especially at Como he's not just a coach, but also a shareholder... I think given his current status, he doesn't see other teams as promising options, he's probably more interested in building Como into a stronger team.

I have not heard about the rumour of him moving to Manchester United, but I really don see him leaving Como anytime soon.  He is a young manager with a lot of potential,  but I don't think moving to Manchester United at this stage of his career is the right thing to do, because Manchester united still has a lot of problem and they will not be patient with him if he does not deliver immediately,  so I think he should still stay at Como and keep building his portfolio before moving to a bigger club.

Before this season, there had also been rumors of him moving to Chelsea but at that time there was no such thing as a move to a team that a coach had defended when he was still an active player. And as a Man United fan, of course I have not heard the news about Cesc Fabregas' move to the Man United camp because currently Cesc Fabregas is still really enjoying being with Como, especially in the previous season Cesc Fabregas managed to bring Como to the UCL competition and that is one of the trusts shown to the management by Cesc Fabregas so that his current position in the Como team will be safer in enjoying the results that he has managed to make for the Como team.

With a price of €42.5 million in 2024, Zirkzee joined Man United from Bologna. But Zirkzee has hardly had any playing time since then, and this season he has only played 70 minutes. He has become a failed player even though he is still under contract with Man United. There are rumors that Napoli is ready to recruit him, and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is said to have held some initial talks with Manchester United. Maybe if Zirkzee still doesn't get much playing time, leaving is the best decision. Maybe next January we can see what will happen?

I still haven't understood what you have to say about Güler  Wink His bet paid off, so we aren't going to discuss his strategy (which was no different from Endrick's) at all?
It is clear that the game isn't over for Endrick, but one can assume with a high degree of certainty that it is over for him at Real Madrid. Unfortunately, he didn't quite reach the level required at Real (though he might still develop - who knows?), but that shouldn't stop him from finding a spot at other good club. He’s only 20, his best years are still ahead of him. In essence, he is already at a very high level - a Brazil international, he just needs to make some progress, and everything will be fine. You don't necessarily have to be a Real Madrid player to make history.
Guler's situation was different in my opinion because he was dealing with way less competition than Endrick: if Mbappé and Vinicius are available, they are going to play, there is no discussion about that, so just for this reason Endrick's space would always be very limited. And this year there also is Diomande, the most expensive player in Real Madrid's history. And I'm not even mentioning Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz and Carlos Espí.

Guler, on the other hand, was fighting for a spot with Valverde, Tchouaméni and Camavinga (I'm not counting Bellingham because he would always play), so his chances of being in the starting eleven were considerably higher. Valverde's performances have been quite erratic during the last years and the two French men are not exactly Real Madrid material at this point.

That's why, in my opinion, is not possible to place the two players on the same page.
Endrick only officially joined Real Madrid in 2024, though a pre-contract was signed back in 2022, it would be strange if he didn't try to break into the starting lineup. And you're exaggerating the competition for him, there were seasons when Real Madrid's central attacker was literally Joselu! Rodrygo and Vinícius are wingers, whereas Endrick is a center-forward, even there, he isn't really competing directly with Mbappé, since Mbappé tends to drift toward the left flank or play as a number 9. Endrick lost the battle for a spot (whether to other players or to Real Madrid's standards) - that is a fact.
You're underestimating the competition for Güler, the left flank is definitely out of the question for him. That leaves Bellingham, Diomande, Rodrygo, Diaz and Silva - I don’t know why you mentioned Valverde, Camavinga, and Tchouaméni, they aren't his rivals. But if we assume they are, then the situation becomes even more interesting!  Wink
It still seems to me that (even Vinny, Mbappe, Espi, and, let's say, Rodrigo are Endik's direct competitors) they have literally the same situation.
I did mention Bellingham:
Guler, on the other hand, was fighting for a spot with Valverde, Tchouaméni and Camavinga (I'm not counting Bellingham because he would always play)
And I was mainly talking about last year's Real Madrid players, when Guler played very often. Diomande and Silva arrived this year. Diaz I don't even know how to consider him, he is there, sometimes he plays, many times he doesn't. It reminds me of Isco: they are both extremely good players and despite having offers from other clubs they chose to remain at Real Madrid just to play very little. A big waste of talent in my opinion.

The point anyway remains: Real Madrid change coaches and players, and yet Endrick isn't able to play. Guler was able to do it. Maybe Guler is more mature, maybe he's more used to European football, I don't know, but Endrick should have done what Nico Paz and Mastantuono did before him.

Cesc Fabregas doesn't have to taint his career in this manner. Moving to Manchester United is the worst decision he will at this stage of his career. Como has better things to offer him.
You are not far from reality, if Amorim did not accept the Manchester United job offer and remained at Sporting, he may have been one of the hottest coaches of now, the way his team played brought a widespread of recognition when they played against top teams in the champions league. Portugal league is not often watched, so I think it was the champions league he was really known. Then you talked about Ten Hag, since Ten Hag left Ajax to Manchester United his career value reduced. Amorim and Ten Hag were at the peak of their career when they accepted the Manchester United job, normally coaching big teams has it's demerits because you have to prove a point and the merit of it is you as a coach having access to better players and bigger funds to buy quality players.
My question now is: why do coaches who have arrived at the peak of their career in lower clubs love to be in top clubs? Is it for it to be on record that they coach a top club and have good pay? You see, that's mainly their reason, and that makes it hard for them to turn down offers when it comes knocking on their door.

Ten Hag and Amorim thinks that they have arrived. Let them leave aside their little beginnings to grab a huge apportunity to showcase themselves to the world that they can coach and manage a top clubs and deliver good results like they did in lower clubs. They don't remember that, to whom much is given, much is expected.

What will the change of ownership of the club help Manchester United to regain its old self? Changing of ownership is not an issue, Manchester United needs more than that, if the club wants to succeed, they need to get the perfect team mates for the job, having a few good and plenty mid players isn't going to take them back, Arsenal are winning because they have enough quality players, even the second team can be used as first team players, that is why they keep winning.
