I'm Italian, I remember players such as Del Piero, Maldini and Totti, just to mention a few: those are players who received offers from all the biggest European team, even offering them way more money than what they were making, but they always refused because they loved their clubs. I do not agree to the frequent blames on managers, the fans do not realize a manager cannot on purpose not want to win matches, sometimes the will purposely not want to perform if they have a fall out with the manager in order for the club management to sack such a coach, it happened sometimes ago in this Manchester United team. Carrick is a good manager, the fans have to be patient with him, I believe his the right man for the job, if only Manchester United fans can exercise the kind of patience of Arsenal fans when they newly appointed their coach, now the are enjoying him. Some of the wrong approaches from Nuno made West Ham not very comfortable with his performance and I think Nuno's dismissal this time is quite appropriate because from what he did at the beginning of the season until now there are still a lot of ambiguous things like forcing to rely on Bowen and not caring about other players, passive schemes and disputes with some players make him look unprepared for the leadership that is done.

Now West Ham are ready for a new coach and there is still plenty of time to improve but it can also be a gamble because the situation can get out of control especially when the new coach can't adapt.

You don’t have to look at the size of the club, what makes a team superior to other teams in the same division is squad depth, and the quality of players at their disposal. West Ham lost many of their best players after they got relegated, so don’t think that their entire squad that got them relegated are with them. Only a few players remained at the club.
The championship is entirely a different competition, the premier league is slightly ahead of them in competitiveness with just little margin. So don’t think that the other teams there are not strong. Championship clubs buy quality players, that some clubs in other Europe top leagues can’t afford. West Ham is only bigger in size of club than most of the championship clubs, but you see squad quality, they are not the best in that division. What they have, others have it too. West Ham will have to labour their way up if they want to get promoted back to the Premier League.

Maybe to Messi fans, I don't think the Ronaldo fans are sad about it unless they want to be delusional. He left Portugal camp and was furious with everyone on the team and when he left, the team became better. He wanted the team to failed under the coach because he wasn't having it with him and instead they gave him $600 punishment as fine and he apologize. That apologies was coming from a place of I'm done and not from remorseful place.

Good he retired, I think Portugal can look ahead and do what's best for them and the rest of the players. He has played his part and they appreciate what he does but the game continues. It's also an opportunity for the country to look for new young players.

Undoubtedly one of the best in history; when he could run as much as he wanted, he was absolutely devastating and no one could keep up with him. I think the time had come for him to retire from the national team because, by then, selecting him for the squad felt more like a stretch than a decision the manager actually wanted to make.
