Full title: A wildly popular Chinese conspiracy theorist says Bitcoin can “eliminate human greed”

http://qz.com/76444/a-wildly-popular-chinese-conspiracy-theorist-says-bitcoin-can-eliminate-human-greed/

Chinese bitcoin awareness is currently minimal compared with the west. It's going to be very interesting when the bitcoin story eventually goes mainstream there. That day is certainly coming, it's just a matter of when. Rumors of tightening currency controls and general growing economic uncertainty could position bitcoin well.

The once tiny volume at BTC China (largest Chinese exchange?) has been growing steadily these past few months, but nowhere near the volume growth of Mt.Gox etc.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I'd be even more impressed if they built a chinese-only exchange to rival the japanese-located Mt. Gox.

I wonder if that would even be possible...

Chinese are gambling minded traders. There is a large number of bucket shops for the occasional casino type trader. so a lot of nonprofessional trade for fun on pay day for small amounts. Bitcoin should look quite familiar to that segment. Big possibilities for a Chinese exchange there!

Yep, the Chinese mentality at large is very much a gambling mindset that LOVES to gamble, yet is restricted from doing so. Bitcoin will become extremely useful for them to acheive those ends once someone figures out how to get these online gambling shops to them all around the great firewall.

Never forget though; the PRC is not not going to take an attack against the Yuan as lightly as the FED takes it against the USD. At some point the resilliance of the bitcoin network will be tested by the PRC for sure.

Just rename Bitcoin to HarmonyCoin and everything should be fine....

LOL, or Bitcoin is a new weapon from the west in the cyber warfare aimed at destabilizing the Chinese economy.
