The question is when: Bitcoin at $2000. 2017 or 2018?

I think we could see $2000 this year. The trend has been going up, Japan has adopted Bitcoin recently, and more people are buying into Bitcoin. I've even been seeing more articles about it on Google news here lately. $2000 is not an unrealistic price imo

A couple of good positive news and a few good trading days of bull run will take the price over to $2000 without any doubt but there are many hurdles to overcome for that to happen.If not for the scaling issues and the delays in transaction and the increasing transaction fees it would have crossed the valuation already,setting a time frame is not possible but i am positive that it would happen pretty soon.

I am fully optimist to see Bitcoin at 2000$. However i don't think we will see it in 2017 or 2018. Maybe we will have periods of some days near his rate but it won't last long. Bitcoin still has 2-3 years before to be at 2000$. We will be lucky if the price goes to 1800$ this year, very lucky.

At the current situation, Bitcoin scalability being stalled, and lots of political drama, I do not see Bitcoin reaching $2,000  this year.  Even though adoption quite increase by some Bitcoin friendly nation like Japan, the coming African bitcoin drive planned by one of the known member here and some issue with exchanges with regards to fiat currency deposit nullify each other. Though the one that probably push BTC price is the coming smart contract this June but I guess it is not enough to push Bitcoin Price way above $1600 this year.  Probably the prediction of one of the known Bitcoin enthusiast about $1500  might happen, $2000 per BTC will be on the year 2018 , quite realistic to me.

Bitcoin price will surely reach $2000 by the start of the year 2018. If it doesn't happen a at least by the year end the price will touch $2000, because every year a good price increase will be experienced during the last month. As quoted touching $1300-$1600 by this year end gives an assurance of $2000 by 2018.

Chances are it will be able to hit somewhere around $2000 close to mid 2018, but that's only if there's slower growth than what we've been seeing with the market recently. If the current trends were able to continue, we could easily see a $2000BTC value close to end 2017. Now, to be fair, it's already 1/3 of the way through 2017 and we still have $700 to go, so it might be a tall order, but it isn't impossible to see it happen. We've had massive growth in other years.

Well I think it will be a 2018 year we are gonna see a real $2000 mark value, impending thing that may occur for bitcoin that are positive within the community would be that Russia will accept it on 2018, back then Russia had previously banned the use of bitcoin, but as of November 2016 declared, bitcoins are "not illegal" according to the Federal Tax Service of Russia.

Its barely touching $1300 now but I doubt it will get to $2000 this year. I think most likely $1500 at the end of the year if the trends continue.

But here my thing on the $2000 price. To reach this, I think that USA should introduce a economic policies that could lead to inflation. And we know that if there's an inflation, the interest rate rise. Then it will create an effect where people will look for alternatives that is not to tied any Central Bank. This is what happened to China. With the devaluation of Yuan, Chinese went to bitcoin as an alternative. This is just my speculation.

We are talking about bitcoin here. Not gold. It can go below 200$ over night if some major shit happens. You seem to forget that we've seen below 900$ just a few weeks ago. (07/March, 890$) And that happened because of a stupid debate about the block size which isn't anything major.

If everything goes well, WU stops being malicious, Ver gets out of bitcoin business, new ASIC miner companies make appearance; then we may see 2000$. If only a couple of those happens, 1500$ is possible. If non happens 1000-1200$ will be the price range till the end of this year.

We haven't even reach $1500. If we hit this price in the middle of this year. Theres a possibilty we could hit $2000 at the end of this year. Or maybe we will crash again. Its better not to think about this matter. Me, im just enjoying the price..im lowering my expectations. Dont expect too much. Thats why im doing altcoin trading. Atleast i could gain some profit.

For me, we will hit such values at the very end of 2018. 2017 is going little by little each day, and the price remains to around 1200$. How some people can think Bitcoin can take 800$ in value, more than 50% in a bit more than 7 months is beyond me.

It is very difficult to speculate about bitcoin prices. Because bitcoin prices can rise and fall suddenly, so we can not be sure when bitcoin prices can reach $ 2,000. But you are right, if bitcoin prices grow slowly it will take time to reach $ 2,000, probably will be achieved in 2018. But if bitcoin prices increase and in a row, maybe at the end of 2017 bitcoin prices could reach $ 2,000. But I believe the bitcoin price could reach $ 2,000 at the end of 2017, that's because every month bitcoin prices continue to rise and adoption will also help the price to go up.

People need to stop saying things like "bitcoin can't reach X price by Y date.   

Bitcoin has shown it can go up or down by large amounts in a small amount of time, but what matters is the fundamentals.   

This blocksize debate is holding the price down, that's the only reason it's not growing very fast lately. There's just no room for new users in the current state. Not because of technical issues, but because of political ones.

bitcoin price should have been $2000 and even more if there were no FUD and not many weak hands. but when people panic for no reason and start selling their coins to the whales during panic sells, then price rise is slowed down. but if they start to buy cheap coins as the whales dump, the number of dips will decrease and the dips become much smaller and on top of that whales will end up having less and less coins each time they try to manipulate.

It's more possible at 2018, I don't think it's time for BTC to have that price. We can always see that price in 2017, but I belive that we aren't ''ready'' for that price now. We will see..
