Hello Everyone,

I am literally brand new to mining (but I run a computer company). I built a mining rig out of spare parts from prior client builds. I have 6 Geforce 1070s on an MSI z270 mobo and Windows 10 home 64 bit.

It recognizes 6 of the GPUs with no issue. However only 4 are functional. the other two have the Device Code 12 error (this device cannot find enough free resources that it can use).

All of them are on PCIE risers (1x16) and all have power.

I already flashed the motherboard to the latest bios, have all the latest drivers, etc. It mines just fine with the 4 GPUs but I built it for 6 and would like it with 6 of course.

Any ideas?

Thanks !

Both of those, and disable all onboard devices you arewnt using:

onboard video, extra SATA controller(s), audio, unused network/com ports, etc.  Nothing unnecessary for mining.

Sounds like the system devices are taking up the lanes.

Link to my batch and script resources here.

Yeah on the 170 boards if you use a m2sata for the os it will use a lane and you can't go past four cards.

This true of the biostar z170
