Also yes, why don't the bitcore dev buy it for us with the airdrop pot ?
Because it is intellectual property. Can not buy and give out to people just like that.

That is not true.  ccminer is gpl’d software, and the gpl explicitly allows you to give gpl’d software to anyone you wish.  sp is actually violating the other developers copyrights by not supplying source code with it.

There is nothing wrong with selling it, as sp has, but he cannot legally prevent anyone he gives or sells  it to from giving or selling to anyone else.
Its kind of more like "don't be a dick" if all the software devs only sell one copy and then its free they'll stop making things it sucks.

I mean think about how it feels for the bitcore devs to have basically had their coin cloned and renamed bitcoin gold and getting a ton more press for no real reason.

(I know I would be inclined to not want to develop anymore personally speaking)

What about how the developers of ccminer like alexis78 and tpruvot feel having their work appropriated and then sold by sp, in contravention of the license?

Why would you be concerned about protecting the intellectual property of someone that is himself exploiting others intellectual property?
Does SP nothing do? He has the right to demand payment for his work.
No one developer will agree to do something, if only one pays, and everyone will use it. So it happened with Spmod_2. One moron put the mod in public.

I want to buy Spmod_3 in a fold with several people, please send suggestions.

Reread what I said.  I said "there is nothing wrong with selling it".  it's right up there in the quotes.

Of course he has the right to sell it.  What he doesn't have, is the right to tell people they can't give it to whoever they want.  Because he based his work on others who have put their work under the GPL license.  And that license requires that a) he provide source code to his changes (which he is not doing, in violation of the license of the works he's basing on) and b) that the cannot restrict the open distribution of the software by anyone who has been given it (either by sale or otherwise).

You seem all worried that sp won't create more versions, but you don't seem to be worried that people like alexis78 or epsylon won't release the works that sp bases his work on, because they are tired of sp making money off their work and violating the license terms.

Quote
I want to buy Spmod_3 in a fold with several people, please send suggestions.

By the way, there is no difference between several people combining their money to buy 1 copy and 1 person paying full price and giving it to several friends for free.  If you're so concerned with sp making his money, why are you going his demands that everyone buy their own copy at full price?

Is there a tutorial on how to sign a message for we non, technical people. I can see that the new registration for the airdrop is out and I don't want to miss out on the 25% airdrop

I feel the same as you in these situations never want to mess it up. Take a look at this post below a few pages back it cant get much easier than that I think. Hope that helps!

If your wallet is encrypted/locked and you don't know how to/don't want to decrypt it, follow these steps.
1.Open Bitcore
2.Click file
3.Sign message.

follow screenshot below.

When you click 'sign message' it will ask for your passphrase.

Thank you so much the break down helps alot, I was surprise to see that the number has not soar high, it seems the market is underestimate the potential of this project but low interest in the Airdrop means more tokens for me

just repeating the steps for the new comers to read.  Grin

PS. Make sure you have 10 BTX in your wallet to be eligible for the 6% airdrop nextweek  Wink

tar xzvf Linux-0-14-1-6.tar.gz

or

yes. As far as I have understood. You don't need BTC to be able to receive airdrop. BTC only applies if you'd like to claim your free bitcore from the official website and is only eligible if you had your BTC during the portsnap back in April

Linux? --> libboost_system.so.1.58.0  ?

Hello,

I am trying to install BitCore in ubuntu using its tar.gz file downloaded in https://github.com/LIMXTEC/BitCore/releases, but I am not being able to install it from the tar.gz. How can I install it? any good and detailed tutorial?

Thanks in advance!

tar xzvf Linux-0-14-1-6.tar.gz

or

gunzip Linux-0-14-1-6.tar.gz
tar xvf Linux-0-14-1-6.tar

then the binary executables files are in the bin directory and the source code is in the source directory in case you want to compile

related question, Debian stretch:

Code:
./bitcore-qt
./bitcore-qt: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_system.so.1.58.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

./bitcore-cli
./bitcore-cli: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_system.so.1.58.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

./bitcored
./bitcored: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_system.so.1.58.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

tried to install it but already is:

Code:
sudo apt-cache search libboost-system
libboost-system-dev - Operating system (e.g. diagnostics support) library (default version)
libboost-system1.62-dev - Operating system (e.g. diagnostics support) library
libboost-system1.62.0 - Operating system (e.g. diagnostics support) library

sudo apt install  libboost-system1.62.0 libboost-system-dev
[...] libboost-system-dev is already the newest version (1.62.0.1).
libboost-system1.62.0 is already the newest version (1.62.0+dfsg-4).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.

Blockchain is actually pretty small, about 160 MB right now.
Syncing should go pretty quick if you have a normal internet connection.

Trying out the windows version now.

Is the warning real at the start of the program? "10 Gigabytes?" What for? You will hardly have created so many transactions by now, or have you?
What is the current, real size of the chain?

Is there a lightwallet?

Ah thanks. That sounds more likely.

I suggest you remove that "10 gigabytes" warning from your current code.

Hi peoples! :-)
I'm quite new to cryptos and i've read that when the block reward is set to 3 Coins, so it's always 3 Coins (except of halving and stuff).
But i saw some BTX Blocks having a reward of 38.261 Coins or 49.541 Coins. Is such a big reward correct?
Thx for enlightenment :-)
