The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I only see how to get the *current* orderbook:
https://mtgox.com/code/data/getDepth.php

or have I missed something?

There is historical data for trades, but not for the orders.

Obviously I can log this myself from now on, but if there already exists some historical data it will save me some effort and time waiting...
