Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Is there anywhere I can get mt gox orderbook / market depth history?

e.g. at 5 minute intervals for the last few weeks...

Yes, you can use the API to pull it all down..

I only see how to get the *current* orderbook:

or have I missed something?

There is historical data for trades, but not for the orders.

Obviously I can log this myself from now on, but if there already exists some historical data it will save me some effort and time waiting...
