How much MYST are required to run/host a node ? And how to protect your Nodes from fraud? To have white traffic

This is indeed an interesting question. I didn't find anything regarding this by quickly skimming through the whitepaper, but maybe I missed something.

Is the token only used as a means of payment or does it have any other utility?

Is there a reason why this project needs a dedicated token? Because as a, opne source project, someone could copy the code and integrate payment with ETH. What will stop people from doing this?

Hi, please see my reply to his question above. The MYST token will be required for VPN services in the decentralized network. We could ourselves technically use ETH or another crypto for payments but still convert it into MYST with the agreed upon smart contract between the node and clients. Our outstanding development team and the Mysterium Foundation contributions are part of what makes it a special project.

From an investors point of view, what you are telling is a problem though, because to use the service, the price per token will be insubstantial. This is a problem pure utility tokens face as a general rule: Since the payment to the VPN provider has to be dynamic in terms of how many tokens per unit of service, and because neither the user nor the provider have an interest in holding MYST longer than needed to not be affected by price fluctuations, we have a highly liquid utility token with pratically infinite supply, since the same tokens can be used over and over again: Both the user and the provider won't care whether they pay with 1000 MYST per unit or 0.00001 MYST per unit, and with no other means to regulate supply, such as collateral for hosting nodes or something along those lines, you'll likely have a market with extremely high movement of tokens.

This means the value of the token is only weakly linked (if at all) to its actual utility.

As I stated earlier, for the users (and providers), this is a non-issue. For investors, however, this is a great issue. It is obviously your decision if you want to cater to them at all, bt the fact that you had an ICO indicates, that maybe, you should.

Welcome, there will be a minimum amount of MYST required to be able to run a node for the Paid Identity. We are also in discussions with potential partnership opportunities that could provide additional value for MYST tokens.

Linux, Windows, or macOS operating system.
Minimum 1GB of RAM
A decent internet connection to give VPN users the best experience.

TestNet is currently for free. When the payments system has been implemented with the MYST token users will be able to earn MYST for hosting a node and renting their unused network traffic to provide a secure connection for those in need.

what was the testing last year of the network, where there were over 950 nodes? Was it the same as this TestNet where nodes were endpoints for user data via the client? What caused such a huge amount of participants (aside from it being an awesome project :wink:)

MYST was a top 100 token last year around this time.

The price is ridiculously low. Especially when you look at recent developments, new staff and still growing strong with 7 more open jobs to come. Including a full-time marketing employee!

In the last year they have given a lot to the development of this project but Robert said we will see a whole new side of them in the coming six months. The going to focus on partners who are making dapp's and need a private decentralized backdoor to the internet. In addition, they are well established with not even 1 serious competitive is doing the same: VPN based on Blockchain. This is a billion dollar market and growing!

The only reason why this token is no longer in the top 50 today is because Bittrex delisted a lot of tokens at the time, including MYST. which was annoying because almost all there volume was being made there. The delisting was because those tokens did not yet have a working product so Bittrex decided to delist by themself... But now the do have a working product that is almost finished and running in beta for testers.

I just bought some more on Liqui and that was super simple, easy to use and fast exchange. Also without annoying registrations where you need to give all your address details etc. Fits completely with the philosophy of MYST interested ;-)

Just saying, spend a few dollars on a now 19 cents price token that came from 4 dollar.. Decreased by 20x times but as a company they growing so strong and kept on going!
