Are the scratches on the obverse on the coin or the plastic?  Any chance of a photo with the coin outside of the flip?

Hopefully these pics turn out better. Hard to get the hologram in focus. Also I forgot to mention that this coin has the misprint "Casacius"

NOT saying those are mine.
Just pointing out a picture which shows two of them.  So, can be graded.

Major thing to keep in mind is that grading done years ago was WAY more stringent.  Meaning, coins rarely graded for 65/66 back then.  Everything now is graded higher.  So, the dates of grading on all Casascius coins should be considered when you purchase coins.

From the picture I see in this auction, I believe it will grade well.  Currently I am still a contender in a possible bid.  But, I only snipe at the end.  The current problem is that Otoh and LesbianCow know about this auction which means I have little chance of getting it, let alone a great deal.  Sad

A graded 25 would be really nice to have, I always get paranoid about hologram tampering on high end Casascius

Last time I dealt with this by stating that any bid automatically extends the auction to x minutes after the last bid

it looks like I'm able to edit my message in this thread as well.  an auction thread might not work right if editing is allowed (isn't there a subforum or an option to disable editing/deleting for auction threads? maybe a mod can set it on the thread? etc.)

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

Yes. The auctions subforum doesn't allow edits.

Unfortunately you can't see the wood for the trees there.  Too much noise from account and domain sales. Here allows a coin auction to be seen

Real answer is a collectibles auction subgroup

For now quoting any posts gives a chance to snapshot.  But even those could also be edited

I like the extension clause, if I do another one I will have to add that in.

btw, what's MNT? I see MT, MST & MDT, but not MNT, is it minus 7 hours from UTC, ie the same as PT 6.55 AM presently?

It's unofficially the same as MT, MST, and MDT. Someone is trying to abbreviate "Mountain Time" in the US. Officially it's referred to as "MT=Mountain Tim", "MST=Mountain Standard Time", or "MDT=Mountain Daylight Time".

Standard time vs. Daylight time refers to the months when the clocks shift an hour in the US. In the Spring (Mar 12 this year) most of the US moves the time forward 1 hour. This time remains until Nov 5 (this year) when most of the people in the US move the clocks back an hour. It's an antiquated rule that was originally set to allow farmers more time to work in their fields near harvest time.

Today MDT is -7 hours from UTC. On Nov. 6th of this year MDT will be -6 from UTC.
