I also use bitcoin back in the days and it is still fast but now it is not that fast and it takes a lot of time. I think its because of the volume of users that are keep increasing everyday because of the tons of news about bitcoin and a lot of people are also getting interested because of its high price so i think the network is overload now so that is why transactions took too long to confirm.

Just wait for it to appear in your wallet, theres nothing we can do about that, or if you want to appear much faster, pay the fee, and it can appear in less than 15-20mins. But i suggest you to just wait for it and not pay for the fee. Because before, i experienced i sent a small amount of bill, and pay the fee, i was shocked because the fee is much expensive than what i sent,  I'm totally pissed at that time, so im suggesting you not to pay the fee and use the free if you dont want it to experience.

I had a transaction the other day take 2 full days to confirm, and have another one currently on it's 2nd day. Beat that.

As I know, the time to confirm a transaction at this time is about 30 minutes for a fee of about $ 0.5. If the lower fee charge can take from 1 to 3 hours! Longer can be up to 1-3 days

I've been using Bitcoin before it was cool

I don't ever remember a transaction taking so long. It has been 3+ hours, my VPN subscription payment is long overdue. Is anybody else having this issue?

If you're going to moan about how I should pay more fees, then please don't waste your time by posting

I thought I was the only one facing this issue until now. Just few days back when I made a transaction, it took forever for it to confirm and stood 0 confirmation for several hours despite the fact that I even paid extremely high transaction fees. It got to a point that I was considering acceleration due to the reputation on the line as a result of the delay but the price I was told made the fees more expensive and my fear is if this should continue, I see abandonment of bitcoin gradually to a more cost friendly crypto.

I've read quite a bit about these complaints of transactions taking long to confirm.  I have to say, i have not encountered it at all in any of my transactions the past week, although it might be because my transactions are worth next to nothing  Grin Grin

It is not about amount you are sending, it is all about the size/fee ratio.

More than 10 hours ago I sent $93 worth of BTC to an exchange wallet. I included fee of 0.0009816 BTC which was $1.52 USD at the time of sending.

Are we trying to break Guinness word record in number of unconfirmed transactions? Because I checked and we have like 150k pending TX.

This is ridiculous, it has been over 24 hours, I still have 0 confirmations. If only I knew, ugh. I would pay for my VPN again with the fee provided, but I already have the transaction in progress. I'm frustrated because of how helpless I am, it's ironic that one of Bitcoin's many selling points was "NO TAXES"

Time is a commodity or, moreover, a [not-so] hidden tax when it comes to awaiting confirmations.

Honestly higher fees are just a workaround. What really needs to be done is we need a larger block and we need the Blockchain spamming to stop.

just skyrocket the price of bitcoin and spam stop ... because it's too expensive.

it's an antiSPAM.
a real one.

so, pay the fees and ...

Well, I ever wait for more than 12 hours to get a single small transaction (0.05BTC) to be confirmed when bitcoin reach ATH at $1300 few months ago. It's normal since we don't have bigger block size which simply cannot afford so much transaction within seconds and now unconfirmed transaction just reach 142K, so, you're among those people who waiting.

I think this is always happening if you are paying a default or a fee that you are using before not a good idea if the price is increasing.. its always happening to me that every time the price was increase there is the possibility that they will ask for higher fee.

Like the other chart shown above i also check most people are paying higher fee if you can see the chart in blockchain starting from april 30 . the chart acting to increase and  jump more high .. means i think we should go to pay for higher fee if we don't want to wait for a long time..

That's the tactic for wallets to earn also since bitcoin value now increases, for us to verify or confirm our transaction we need to pay ,which there's no need since some of my transactions were not that urgent to add some additional payment.
