Just to add that I have put 0.0004 fee for 0.002 transaction and this is not low fee and I still can't get the transaction confirmed. And of course that Viabtc doesn't have some magic powers so I'm afraid there is nothing I could do but just sit and wait that my transactions will get confirmed soon.

To be accepted in the mainstream realm to purchase goods and service a transaction has to be confirmed instantaneously, the same as a credit or debit card transaction. If you
want to replace the current paradigm then you must meet or exceed it.

I am not a coin developer so looking from the outside in, is it possible to develop a protocol to verify the coins in a btc account ahead of time so when they are spent, the transaction is verified instantly?

I used to face this issue earlier. Inspite of adding the correct fee, it used to take 6+ hours to get 1 confirmation and as I need to wait for 3 confirmations, 8 hours was the minimum wait. Honestly, earlier transactions with 30-50 sats/byte used to confirm within an hour but now it takes days. Viabtc can help to confirm the transaction within 24 hours but still it's not used if transactions need to be confirmed on an urgent basis. You just need to pray that a miner accepts your transactions.

Not really i see many transaction just take almost an hour but it's really depend on how much fee you pay if you pay high fee that gonna be a fast transaction for you if you dont pay fee it will take 12hours to confirm.

Fees are getting higher, transaction times are taking longer.
The weakness of the current setup is finally being exposed and (hopefully) people realize that Bitcoin will never be the universal payment system to free the masses from the shackles of the oppressors.
Its still a way for rich people to get richer and buy things they probably don't need on the internet.
No one in Africa is going to be sending micropayments with fees like this. A lot of work needs to be done to achieve the dream.

Yup this is clearly a real big issue, The reason bitcoin became popular was because of almost no transaction fees, Micro transactions are a myth now.. Devs really need to solve this problem, Or Bitcoin can't be the solution for the masses. It will become a tool for Elites.

As for the other guy who said that for 0.59 BTC the user must send around 0.003 - 0.005 BTC that is not what BTC was meant to be. Tell me why shouldn't i paypal some one instead of using btc if i am going to give $5-$8 in transaction fee. I can transfer for free via Friend and Family. Doesn't makes sense for me.

Bitcoin needs a solution or something else will replace it.

You guys really like to agitate the situation. Transactions never takes ages... You just need to learn how much fee you gotta pay for the transaction to take place without delay. If you're not putting enough fee, there is no reason to complain on.
It is a serious situation, the price of bitcoin is reaching at an all time high situation and look at the transaction fees we are giving out and compare it to fees we were providing when bitcoin started or six months back,in an economic stand point ,the transaction fees we are giving out now are not fare considering the core concept of bitcoin.

Nope, it takes forever to confirm. I already paid 240 sats per byte and it is already 24hrs since and still unconfirmed. How much more fee do you want me to pay? No one benefits this fee hike but the miners.

Are you serious that with a fees with 240 sats per byte takes more than 24 hours to confirm ,i am sending coins for the past few days and i am using 240 sats per byte fees and it got confirmed in a couple of hours, the only transaction which is delayed is when i entered a lower fees as it is still pending.Transaction fees are increasing and miners will be happy to collect more fees.

precisely sometimes using high fees does not imply that your transaction will get confirmed super fast like in your case its over 24 hers and not confirmed

You could try to accelerate it through viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

It seems that the ViaBTC accelerator may have worked. I have no reason to believe that it was the accelerator that made my transaction go through though, it could just have been the time period, I'll never know.

Thank your friendly neighborhood core devs, who thought full blocks and a 'healthy fee market' was a great idea.

Time for bigger blocks.  Maybe segwit later...but bigger blocks now to buy us time..otherwise bitcoin will just lose to alts. no one will put up with this shit for long.

Sad to hear this, try some alt coins in making transaction if needed an urgent confirmation. Bitcoin now can't tolerate the number of transaction since of its value increase. I have heard some alt coins worked well now.

Yeah I agree that we need bigger blocks because 1MB block can't handle 250k-350k transactions per day but we should try segwit first because I think it's right thing to do at the moment and LTC has gained more because of segwit. If segwit doesn't work, then hard fork will do.

Segwit is one of the best solution that we have in option and i think the segwit on litecoin is just a trial and if it becomes successful then bitcoin will try it also and we will have a bigger blocks and have a more efficient transactions. The another good thing about segwit is, it will help the price to get higher because a lot of investors will treat segwit as a good tool for bitcoin and they will invest more.

It has nothing to do with price...
It has to do with competition for the space in the new block.

If people would stop using bitcoin for 2 hours I doubt the price would go down by more than 1 cents but the mempool will get cleared and cheaper or even free transactions will go through.

Even a 25% capacity increase in the network would solve these problems.... for now.

I can feel what you feel and I have been suffering from huge miner fees this days. Before I am just paying 1k satoshi to 20k satoshi but today the minimum miner fee is 20k satoshi and it is increasing to 200k satoshi. With this huge miner fees I am no longer doing small bitcoin transactions and that is causing me some delays but still I love bitcon and I find ways so I can save from the huge miner fees.

Theres many transaction also is not yet confirm its because I think the price of bitcoin is very high as of now.  Thats my friend said to me last night and I think the priority if low and high . And I think the transaction fees if the fees are high I think you need to wait only 30 minutes to 1hour only while the low fees 2 hours and up . Last 3 days ago My transaction not confirmed I wait 2 days before its confirmed. I hope all transaction confirmed.

Transaction delays another major factor of using bitcoin Most of the time it is attributed to miner fees I think It.s high time authorities consigned should do something about it because it may cause mistrust between a sender and a receiver of bitcoin, transaction should not be allowed to exceed at most 30 minutes.

Guys, I just tried ViaBTC's free "bitcoin transaction accelerator" and it appeared to work for me. (Google). Try it at the top of the hour b/c it has a manual request queue that fills up quickly.

My little story is here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1743011.msg18915866#msg18915866
