Last week i was asked by the Bitsler owner to check out a user to add to the Bitsler Sig Campaign. I didnt see anything funny minus a little inactivity here n there but hes also DT so we decided to add the user to the campaign.

The following day he pmed me his bitsler username to receive payment from Mixan007. Of course i instantly thought it was mixan but couldnt find any connection, so i let it go as coincidence.

I handle alot of campaigns so i didnt go through old paysheets but Actmyname did. He pmed me earlier tonight and had me look at the early weeks in the bitsler campaign. Sure enough mixan was in bitsler campaign in week 2 and his username was Mixan007 on Bitsler.

I believe he needs removed from DT and the Ryland account needs tagged as well.  Below are some screenshots of pms from both of his accounts connecting the 2 users as the same account on Bitsler.

For those of you not caught up on mixans scam accusation heres 1 thread you can reference

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1743036.0

Link to Ryland acct https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=4758

If im wrong ill apologize to Ryland but it looks like solid proof to me.

Great catch, yahoo you look like detective Cheesy
Yes, it looks absolutely solid proof but fact of holding 250btc for forum seems strange, if he had so much btc why the hell was he lying for 0.04 btc? Also strange he didn't changed bitsler's name, very silly fault but he got result of this.
Well maybe person was busy and activity doesn't make big sense but all facts are against him.

Can confirm. Let it also be known that the account had its password changed twice on April 6, and proceeded to attempt to join a signature campaign the following day.

How dumb could you be to reuse the same username, when it would be published to a public spreadsheet?

It would be nice to get a response from theymos on this matter.

Is this guy still holding the forum funds? Has his account been compromised? SaltySpitoon seems to be inactive at the moment, so a removal from DT will be slower (unless via exclusion by others or forced removal by theymos).

Has his account been compromised?

It seems likely that this is the case. If you'll notice, the sent feedback from Ryland changes tone and writing style completely after the double password change.

This is also interesting: January 08, 2017, 12:26:51 AM - Ryland R. Taylor-Almanza - password reset via email (Archive)

And here:

March 31, 2016, 10:16:12 PM - Ryland R. Taylor-Almanza - password changed
April 01, 2016, 03:41:59 AM - Ryland R. Taylor-Almanza - password changed

(Archive)

February 07, 2016, 08:54:38 PM - Ryland R. Taylor-Almanza - password reset via email
February 08, 2016, 02:15:57 AM - Ryland R. Taylor-Almanza - password changed
February 11, 2016, 09:29:03 PM - Ryland R. Taylor-Almanza - password reset via email

(Archive)

This might be legitimate, though.

And that's as far as archive.is takes me. archive.org doesn't serve me any better.

Unfortunately for mindless me, I didn't archive the password change in time and now we're one day ahead of it. (since the latest is a month back)

I am still giving this a little benefit of the doubt, although it seems highly likely that this case is pretty much closed. I have sent theymos a PM asking for a response in this and in another thread that is of interest to me. This is why I'm somewhat hesitating to leave a negative rating. Unless there is more information within a reasonable amount of waiting time, I'll also leave the user a negative rating.

theymos updated the trust rating, he held BTC for the forum several years ago and stated the evidence isn't clear to support or refute the idea of it being hacked, sold, or the same person.

Oh sorry. I didn't double-check the trust ratings before contacting theymos. I thought he'd reply by posting. I left a negative after reading your post.

Is this guy still holding the forum funds? Has his account been compromised?
No, and no.
Proof? Then your conclusion would be that he is Mixan (which is the worst outcome here considering how that guy acted the last time).

No, and no.
Proof? Then your conclusion would be that he is Mixan (which is the worst outcome here considering how that guy acted the last time).

See the bottom of my post (and the blockchain) to see that he is no longer holding funds on behalf of the forum -- the address that the forum funds were spent to can be reasonably traced to theymos.

Regarding if the account is compromised, I don't consider yahoo to be trustworthy, and therefore I have not seen any evidence that the person behind RylandAlmanza has done anything wrong. If he wants to report the relevant messages to a moderator who can confirm their authenticity, then I would say that RylandAlmanza is mixan.

This is a non-legal agreement between The Bitcoin Forum ("Forum") and Ryland Rene Taylor-Almanza ("Treasurer"). This agreement is intended to be enforced in a non-violent, non-legal way by the community.

Held Amount: 250
Monthly Fee: 0.2
Deposit address: 17WmKCPdbu1GRUdPRJ1wNAMEr7F5HhnUU1

TREASURER OBLIGATIONS

After the treasurer receives the Held Amount of bitcoins, the treasurer owes the Forum the held bitcoins and must keep the entire amount safe at a particular address, never transferring them except:

  Transactions

After the head administrator requests that the treasurer send the held bitcoins somewhere, the treasurer must send the bitcoins as directed within 14 days.

Exception: 1 trustee or 3 members of the community council may order the treasurer to temporarily stop all payments. After such an order, the treasurer must not obey administrator transaction requests until the order is reversed by those same trustees or community council members, or until the trustees or community council members are removed.

The treasurer *should* delay transactions as long as possible if the administrator is believed to be compromised, under duress, or acting against the best interests of the Forum.

  Treasurer wrap-up

The treasurer may always send the entire held bitcoins amount to any trustee in order to end his obligations in this agreement. He then must also return any fees that were paid in advance.

FORUM OBLIGATIONS

The forum must pay the Monthly Fee by the first of every month when it is due. These fees may be paid in advance. If the forum is late in paying, the treasurer may take fees out of the held amount. If the held amount is not enough to cover the monthly fee, the contract is ended and neither party has any more obligations or debts.

The forum cannot incur any debt. Under no circumstances will the forum's staff members, trustees, or community council members be liable for anything whatsoever.

DISPUTES

Because this contract does not define any obligations for the forum except monthly fees, and since that issue is completely handled in the previous section, it is not possible for anyone to have a dispute with the Forum under this contract.

A dispute may be raised by the Forum (represented by the head administrator) against the treasurer.

In case of a dispute, both parties may agree on an entity to act as arbitrator.

Only if the parties cannot agree on an arbitrator: the arbitrator will be the first person in the list of community council members excluding trustees and the head administrator, assuming that the person is willing to arbitrate for free and the person is not involved in the dispute.

If a party is non-responsive at any point in this process for more than 7 days, that party loses the dispute.

The arbitrator can only decide whether the treasurer is in violation of this agreement or not. The arbitrator cannot award damages, order either party to do anything, or decide that the Forum is in violation of the agreement.

If the treasurer is in violation of this agreement, he has an absolute moral obligation to correct the violation as soon as possible. If he does not correct his violation within 7 days, he agrees to be ostracised by the Bitcoin community. Additionally, anyone who has obligations to the treasurer is no longer required to follow those obligations in order to be considered to be acting in good faith by this community. The Forum can forgive the violation at any time.

THE BITCOIN FORUM

Trustees and community council members are added, removed, and reordered by the head administrator. Any change in the list of trustees takes place 60 days after a public announcement. Any change in the list of community council members takes place 30 days after a public announcement.

The head administrator can be replaced in any of five ways:

  Method 1

The head administrator resigns and assigns someone to be head administrator.

  Method 2

1. One of the trustees publicly and formally states his desire to replace the head administrator.
2. 7 days pass.
3. Any trustee higher on the trustee list except the head administrator can cancel this process.
4. The trustee becomes head administrator if one half of community council members agree.

  Method 3

1. One half of trustees and two thirds of community council members vote to remove the head administrator.
2. The head administrator is considered to be removed.
3. A plurality vote determines the new head administrator.

  Method 4

1. One third of community council members agree that the head administrator should be replaced.
2. This is announced as publicly as possible so that no interested party is likely to miss the announcement.
3. 7 days pass.
4. Any trustee, including the head administrator, can cancel this process.
5. A plurality vote determines the new head administrator.

  Method 5

If it is absolutely clear that the head administrator is inactive and there are not enough active community council members and/or trustees to replace him, the treasurer should consider the head administrator to be whoever seems most capable of continuing the Forum.

  Voting

Above, a fractional number of voters means the fraction of voters rounded down, but at least one.

Votes should be delivered to the treasurers once there are enough votes. Treasurers must take appropriate measures to verify the identities of the voters.

When a plurality vote is called for, the treasurer should contact all voters. 7 days from this contact, all votes received should be tallied and the person who received the most votes wins. In case of a tie, the vote is repeated.

Is this guy still holding the forum funds? Has his account been compromised?
No, and no.
Proof? Then your conclusion would be that he is Mixan (which is the worst outcome here considering how that guy acted the last time).

Theymos has changed their rating from positive to neutral. Therefore, it is safe to assume that what Yahoo has said is true.

Hi!

This is now the actual Ryland. I received some Facebook messages from the new account owner the other day about this whole ordeal, and was given back the login details to my account. It sounded like the new owner was implying that the account was too much trouble, and worthless now that Theymos' positive feedback was removed.

I'm not really sure what to do here. I haven't had much time to look at all the PM's received to wrap my head around what the conflict is. I can confirm that my account was taken, and I assume sold, as collateral for a loan from Quickseller which I was not able to repay. I don't believe I will easily be able to recover any of the addresses or keys from that time period, though, so perhaps this confirmation doesn't matter.

Anyways, if there's anything I can do to help here, let me know. If we're just trying to clear the account's name, I don't much care to do so-- at least not in a timely manner-- as I no longer have much use for these forums. That said, it would be cool if we could get the username changed. Kind of sucks having my real name attached to an account t that was owned by someone else for so long.

So, that's where I'm at. Gonna' clock in to work now. Will check this thread again afterwards.

This confirmation means little without a signed message but I'm curious when did the referenced loan happen?

That said, it would be cool if we could get the username changed. Kind of sucks having my real name attached to an account t that was owned by someone else for so long.

So, that's where I'm at. Gonna' clock in to work now. Will check this thread again afterwards.
This confirmation means little without a signed message but I'm curious when did the referenced loan happen?
QS selling DT accounts to scammers, i.e. directly helping scammers acquire positions in which they'd be able to scam even more. Why does this not surprise me? Roll Eyes I do agree with you regarding the signed message.

It sounded like the new owner was implying that the account was too much trouble, and worthless now that Theymos' positive feedback was removed.
Since it is pretty clear that the "owner" was planning on scamming with your account, and that QS created this opportunity, I have no plan on removing this rating anytime soon. You should never, ever use DT accounts as collateral.

As far as I know, I knew something sketchy was going on when the Ryland account leaved some trust ranking into LLec for  nothing as COINMAN1 pointed out.
Also I don't think Mixan was tryng to scam with the account hence I think he was able to scam instantly after purchasing the account as a DT member account.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner, I was away for finals for the last few weeks. I know Ryland personally and know that he is not Mixan, but it does seem Ryland's account was hacked. I'm getting in contact with him now. Until then I'll remove him from my trust list and leave feedback.

New definition of hacked is sold to a scammer by Quickseller?

I can confirm that my account was taken, and I assume sold, as collateral for a loan from Quickseller which I was not able to repay.

Assuming thats the real Ryland. I'll wait for a phone call back from the real Ryland. As far as I know, he hasn't been around for a few years.
