So recently I was using this app called Instagram (in case some of you never heard of it) and I posted some pictures & videos related to Bitcoin on my Instagram Stories (Like that day when the price goes insanely high and keep going til now). Then 2 days ago some of my friends suddenly asked me about what Bitcoin is & how could the price goes up like that. And I was surprisingly glad to know that I've influenced some people to get to know Bitcoin. And then I introduced them to Bitcoin and answer their questions about it, there were 3 people asking about Bitcoin that day just because of this 1 post. I mean why don't we just use this power of social media to make people aware about this Cryptocurrency, well I know that there are already some people doing this (like those YouTube channels). But what I'm talking about here is to us to post something about Bitcoin on our social media, you can just at least post something like your first transaction with Bitcoin and share your story on your Facebook or take the picture of your book that you just bought from the internet using your Bitcoin and then post it on your Twitter. Don't be afraid to share your experience, you won't get hurt by doing it! (at least not now)

In my case, i had the same thoughts to share my experience with peoples in social media since i knew about bitcoin but am living in an arabic country and it's hardly difficult to use arabic to explain something about digital world, that arabic dosn't give users concepts and terms to involve such technical subjects but it's may be easy to do comparison with the banks system. Am inviting my friends and neighbors to visit my pages in english and let them asking about what they want to understand and in that case i can send them links and articles and posts analysis. My second step is to build a website with simple concepts helping people using english to understand what is bitcoin. I wish that everybody take a look about this innovation and understand their benefits.

Using social media to get the attention of our friends about Bitcoin is a good idea but it depends on the type of friends that you have. If majority of your friends are not open to new things and like to use the mainstream then theres a low chance that your post will be noticed. But if you have friends who are open to ideas and open to risks then post away and you'll see a lot of curious query in your mailbox.

There is no harm in trying. I already posted some before in my Facebook account, but I didn't get any response. Maybe this is the right time because bitcoin is slowly gaining mass adopted and the price is really looking good. Maybe I will try to do it again and see what happens.

Im not going to bother with talking about bitcoin to anyone I know until we can have instant, cheap transactions, so that is, until we get segwit and lightning network. People expect bitcoin to be instant and cheap, otherwise the average joe is disappointment. Therefore, don't even bother until things are fast, cheap, and dumbed down for the general non geek population.

Snapchat can be great for propagating bitcoin, because many teens already use it. That scary privacy policy permission can also help in ROI.

Almost everyone who has understood what Bitcoin is or what cryptocurrencies are, have tried to share that technology with their family and friends but it's not that easy to convince them about it. Some people have lots of misconceptions about Bitcoin and they'll never understand, can't do anything about it.

Many people are currently using different type of social media sites to spread the word about BTC. I know for a fact that they are already doing this for quite some time now. The only problem that I'm seeing is that people always tend to be skeptical about it and think that BTC is just a pyramiding scheme. We can't provide true information to them because they are blinded by the wrong information about it. I would be really glad if some of my friends show interest to it. The other concern that I'm thinking is that BTC should solve first the top problems (transaction times and high fees) that we have right now before thinking of expanding its reach to regular masses.

Social media is indeee a great medium in order to propagate information just like about bitcoin. This way, we will arouse people's awarenes about bitcon and build their interest about it. However, this might also bring bad effect. First is you are uncovering your mask ang reveal that you are a bitcoin user. Second, if ever bitcoin is banned suddenly in your country, you may be included in their watchlist for bitcoin users (probably far from reality but it is a possibility). Last is you made yourself prone from hackers. Hackers might gain interest in you and hack your accounts (facebook, instagram, e-mail, etc) hoping that they may access your wallet using your account/s.

Indeed, social media is the best tool to propagate bitcoin into mainstream. Social media like facebook, twitter, youtube and instagram are some if not the best campaign you can used to let people know about bitcoin. They will become curious and may be interested on it. And they might found that bitcoin is good in terms of investment as well earning for them. You just have to be ready for a lot of questions for sure and you can even tell them about our great forum here.

The temper of friends is important here for sure, but you can't just post some information and expect that risky friends will follow. The commercial have to be attractive. And what can be more attractive than money?! But don't promise millions or it will looking just as some new scam scheme

I did the same with Facebook when the price was climbing higher than $1000 for the first time. I just posted "Bitcoin = $1000" and then again "Bitcoin = $1100" with a link to Preev.com .... the questions started a short while after that and continued for days. The price went down and the questions dried up... I think people are not quite ready for Bitcoin volatility.

Usually we are safe. I know the case where someone was bragging about owning large amount of bitcoin. It was some niche local bitcoin forum (you can kinda call it social media) and other user who was jealous doxxed BTC owner. Later jealous idiot wrote donation to his local IRS so they could take care of bitcoin owner taxes. So yeah, I would be rather silent about my BTC stash, not that I own that many anyway.

Right now the sort of videos being made of bitcoin is all about making money off HYIPs which are ponzi schemes or laundering your money. And that's not good for bitcoin because it damages the already pretty tainted image of this cryptocurrency of ours. We need more people demonstrating what bitcoin can really do to benefit our lives, instead of making money. For example if you look at what Ben Perrin is doing on his youtube channel BTC sessions, that's the sort of content we need. Also, share bitcoin on FB and Twitter, etc.

I am really happy to help a friend who is interested to know more about bitcoin but the problem is as nydiacaskey01 mentioned,it really depends upon how they are going to view a new concept and most of the friends are not interested to know more about bitcoin or not having the time to know about it,i introduced bitcoin to my peers long back and most of them were skeptic with the functionality and legality rather than knowing the technology and my family members used to complaint because of the money and time i was investing into it .

Social media is a good platform to spread the word and all the alt coins are using it as a media to spread the word, with time we will see more people coming into bitcoin, you just have to give time for every implementation to come into full effect and we must have the capacity to accommodate new users and the ever increasing transactions.
