If you still want to buy ripple from people on here instead from exchange sites, make sure you are using escrow and watchout there are bad people who pretending to be reputable escrow by using similar name (ex : 0gnasty (the  real one is Ognasty).

Poloniex have a problem because there are high traffics recently, but it seems it's already solved now.

It's risky to trade here when the said coin are already on exchange and since you are a newbie you will need a good escrow or you should send first ,doing it in exchanges,lessen the risk of getting scam.

It was unexpected doge has reach 85 sats from 40 sats, but i don't recommend to buy doge right now because it seems most of people do bitcoin trade and it makes almost all altcoins price falling down.

I really agree with your suggestion, if you need XRP, we recommend you buy it at Bittrex because it's available there, so maybe you will not risk big scams, if you want to buy XRP not using escrow, I'm sure you will regret. I just wonder why would you trade Ripple here when you can easily get it on exchanges. Here there are more chances that people may scam by not sending you XRP, when they receive btc. Escrow can be used but it will be additional cost.

I wouldn't recommend buying Dogecoin this time as it already reached its highest price lately and there is very low chance of getting much higher price from it, try trading ETH or LTC instead, there are good markets for it

Just buy them on trading sites. It's a big risk buying them from a people you don't know. But if you really insist just use an escrow or bitrated when making transaction.

Poloniex have a problem because there are high traffics recently, but it seems it's already solved now.

Poloniex is running normally and you can play back just wait for XRP development, XRP's current position is up by 26%..
