What do you guys think of it ? It let's you use an adress like name.eth instead of the standard long hexadecimal adresses. https://ens.domains/

Someone bid 6660ETH for exchange.eth domain. I wonder which exchange did this https://etherscan.io/enslookup?q=exchange.eth

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

It doesn't work for me as of right now. I dont understand why. web version with metamask is fine tough. I'm using mist (last version). Already registered a name. However, after that it started to freeze when I open ENS dapp in Mist.

Think it's a good sign that the ethereum ecosystem is becoming more mature. I think it demonstrates to some extent that people might actually be interested in building services (or at least be willing to make a commitment by paying large sums to secure their address/names) on top of Ethereum rather than just speculating on the currency.

Yes, people using Etherium to hype and scam to each others, like token creation on Etherium platform which worth hundreds of millions on a useless crap, example Gnosis or Aurgur etc. LOL Grin Ripple is much useful because all the banks going to use it to transfers money.

I can remember the "old days" of the net, where people like me would register and stockpile domain names. A kind of gold rush like you see in altcoins right now. Actually I once owned zuckerberg.com and .net. Then I saw an email form a guy named Marc who had a strange website for students only called "thefacebook.com" in my spam folder. He wanted to buy these domains because this was his lastname. At that time I was happy to sell it to someone. ...the rest is history... :-(

Seems like a lot of people believe in the ENS. Last time I checked more than 1. Billion Dollars were deposited in order to secure the names. Even secondary marketplaces for the names are opening up: https://ether-domains.com

Definitely feels like the second gold rush after the dotcom boom.

Who is controlling the domain registration? if it's controlled by some body then it has no value, of course if I had millions of Ξ I'd bid thousands in order to fool people or just to show off. no body is using namecoin even after almost 8 years.
When I bid for a name who am I paying to? yes totally decentralized.

🖤😏
