I HAVE HEARD THINGS ABOUT THE COUNTRY, THEY ARE UNCIVILIZED PEOPLE, THEY WILL CUT DOWN AMERICANS IF THEY HAVE A CHANCE. MORE OVER THEY THERE ARE DEATHS REPORTED IN PAKISTAN OF AMERICAN AMBASSADORS.
WHY I AM ASKING THIS QUESTION? IT BECAUSE I WANT TO GO ON A VACATION WITH A LIMITED BUDGET. OPTIONS ARE PAKISTAN AND THAILAND. BUT I WANT TO GO TO PAKISTAN TO SEE WHAT IS THE PROBLEM THERE, ARE PEOPLE REALLY INFLUENCED TO TERRORISM AND STUFF LIKE THAT.. ?

What's with the bolded text? Anyway, if the only two options you have are Pakistan and Thailand then you should go to Thailand, it's a no-brainer. Why go to Pakistan when you can go to Bangkok which has been an established tourist destination for decades now and offers much more to see. Plus from Thailand you can take some boat trip down the Mekong and visit Cambodia and Vietnam, and I doubt it will be too expensive. No offense to Pakistan. They are a powerful nation and a nuclear power, but I just don't think there will be that much to see there.

If it's a cheap adventure you seek why not try for a trip to North Korea. As far as I know if they approve you, they pay all your expenses.

Pakistan or Thailand? It's a no brainer, choose Thailand... unless you want to get your anus sore before having your head cut off. Seriously dude, this is the first time I ever heard anyone mention Pakistan as a tourist destination. It seems it rarely cross the minds of normal people when planning where to spend their summer.

Still, a tip when going to Thailand - stick to the usual tourist spots. And don't travel south to Malay Muslim regions. Same rule applies to the Philippines - don't go south.

Pakistan is quite big, or at least it encompasses multiple territories with various political ideologies. You would lose your head in parts, but Punjab is pretty safe, as safe as any international destination in a third world country.  Islamabad is a tourist destination.

Thailand is safer, generally, but you would actually be more likely to meet misadventure in the most popular parts of Thailand, given the criminality that has risen around the sex trade there (they prey on ignorant Americans that come overseas to fuck their women and children).

Your money will go further, in a meaningful way, in Thailand. Most people wouldn't even arrive here mentally, of course you go to Thailand. They have been providing Americans with Thai bootyholes for decades, that tourist money is sadly a 'thing' now. And as the saying goes, some 'things' never change, you get my drift?

To answer your question, they average citizen will neither know of your existence, nor will they care. You go to a fucked up part, you may get fucked up. That's all over the globe, I can take you to a few places in the United States that you wouldn't return from if the denizens decided to 'eat' you.

If it's really poor there, you should prolly avoid it.

Its no brainer dude. Go to Thailand. It is like a paradise for those of you Caucasians. Hmm. Why not Philippines though? Are you afraid to be kidnapped?  But seriously, I would rather go to Thailand because it is much safer for tourist like you. You know that Pakistan is Muslim dominated country and they hated Americans. At least in Thailand you put yourself in a better position to enjoy your vacation because its friendly to tourist because its one of their attraction there. Sandy white beaches, beautiful pagoda's and palaces, ancient ruins and ornate temples displaying figures of Buddha. So its really a good place to visit for American tourist like you.

If you want some adventure and exotic experience, then Pakistan is a good choice. There are places with breath taking natural beauty, especially in Gilgit and Baltistan. But please remember that the security situation there is very precarious.

Just another suggestion if you're in such an adventurous mood. I think they are still doing those tours of Pripyat city and the Lenin NPP in Chernobyl. I don't think it will be too expensive either

It's not a bad idea, since there's a lot of grimm stuff to see. The area is relatively safe and many people have travelled there in the recent years. The only problem is lack of hotels, bars and such. I'd choose Thailand, at least you can go for a swim and try some local cuisine.
If you want a cheap place to go to, Greece is not that expensive, but beautiful, and if you want something even cheaper go to Bulgaria. Great weather, beaches, decent hotels, everything dirt cheap. Also much less bugs than in Thailand.

I do not understand those people who go to Muslim countries. What is good for a normal person? You can always find places more beautiful and safer. Muslim countries have terrible laws and customs. You always risk your life on these trips.

In my country live many economic immigrants from Pakistan. Almost everyone of them sends money back to their family, but nobody wants to return to their country. There is no need to ask why. But if you still intend to go for tourism, although you said that you have a limited budget, for your own safety it is a good move to keep some money for armed guards when you want to walk in the roads of Karachi, unless you masquerade as a local.
