Recent statistics show that Pakistan is not a safe country for visiting. Now and then there are happening terrorism activities so you can be a victim of such types of cancer.
To my perspective,  you can visit anywhere rather than Pakistan.

The choice was between Pakistan and Thailand.

I can think of lots of reasons not to go to Pakistan.

And if you choose thailand, and if you like night life you should go to pattaya, But if you go there for sea and nature you should go to phuket or krabi. Maybe you can try to bali for your vacation, they also have big muslim ppl, but they're really nice ppl. in bali majority of religion is hinduism

It's not about the majority of a religion. The places in Pakistan are like heaven. Yes, it's a terrorist inflicted country and a blast is as common as a cricket match there. I think Thailand would be a better choice for Americans.
If you compare between Pakistan and Somalia then I would definitely go for Pakistan..

I can sense that you may have a second thoughts on traveling to Pakistan and that may not really be good for you. So maybe the best thing to do is stick to Thailand as it can be cheap and they can provide you with many safe adventures. You don't want to travel and get yourself in danger, right? Now, if you are also looking for another cheap alternative (though not that very cheap) then maybe you can take a look at the Philippines as my country also offers many nice places to go to and we are one of the most hospitable people here on Earth.

Pakistan and its people are all lovely people am very sure of that, but the threat of an Al Qaeda attack or any other Islamic Extremist group is something that can happen at any time, I suggest an alternative place for your vacation if u value your life.
