Hello,

I have purchased 5 rx 480 8gb, but one of them seems to be faulty.
It was mining at 24mh/s like the rest of the graphic cards, but it started to fall gradually from 24->20->14->8->0,
and now it just sits at 0 and will not go up. The fan is running just like the other graphic cards, but it is also 10 degrees C cooler than the rest. I have swapped out the pcie risers already and tested it on different ports. What could be causing this?

Best,
Crystz

If you already tried different risers, cables and PCI-E slots, you can also try the card by itself or on another machine to make sure. Otherwise it sounds like a bad card. Return it or get an exchage under warranty.

I have EVGA 1300 g2 gold, mem clock set at 2000, and cor at 1180. I have plugged in the monitor but the monitor does not recognize the card. Does it matter where the pcie port is connected for it to show up on the monitor?

Edit: I plugged in the monitor on the faulty gpu, the monitor is working fine on it, but I have still getting 0 hash. also this gpu is currently in PCIE slot 2, im not sure if that matters.
Edit2: Something I realized is that the monitor screen glitches out right before the GPU dies. Thank you for telling me to plug in the monitor. Idk what this implies, but it seems like the gpu is faulty.

Make sure that the card is visible in device manager as active device, and look in to gpuz after setting the clocks (does it accsept the clocks as the other 4 cards), I have a same problem with one of my cards, one of them not accsept clocks at first atempt, so I had to click in afterburner 2 or 3 times to get desired gpu and mem clock, after that all 4 cards hashing the same..

are all 5 cards same make and model?

try  gpu-z  and see if the ram is different.

My guess is the drivers are corrupted on the card.

Does happen  when you have 4 or more cards.

Sometimes  mixed cards
Sometimes same cards different ram

Sometimes  a card  just says fuck you on mobo A  and works fine on mobo B

Do you have a testing mobo?

drivers loaded poorly or a bad clocking for that card.

how did you set core?
how did you set memory?
did you flash these?

did you under volt? with msi afterburner?

boot/restart the rig 2 times in a row

 then try   1150 and 1950.

if that does not work

remove the amd drivers then reinstall

if that does not work

consider the card for rma.

What motherboard are u using ? Did all of your cards ever worked fine ? Did you set pcie in the bios to gen1 or gen2 ? If you switching around ur cards in the PCIE slots , always the same card give u trouble ?
If only the problematic card plugged in to the system , nothing else , the card is still hashing with 0 ?
