Hi...I am relatively new in this forum but not new to Bitcoin and its concept.
A few years back I bought a Casascius bitcoin 2011 error 2011-09-08 02:35:15 . According to the site this is the second day loading of such coins.
The guy who sold it to me said he was given this coin for free at a convention on bitcoin when they were still novelty items. Not in mint condition but
good.
My question is.. a) what is something like this worth above the value of the loaded bitcoin market value?
b) Does the value matter that this was one of the very first 100 coins made by Mike Caldwell?
I also have a silver gold plated 1BTC loaded 2013-12-14 04:13:04 ....meaning this is one of the very last if not the last loaded by Mike before he said it would shut down on the 27th November. I bought this one directly from Mike and was afraid that I would not get it since he was shutting down operations. So I was lucky he came thru!
Any feedback would help. Thanks
Hi there, and welcome to the forum!
That Casascius Error Coin will depend entirely on value. As you are a new member, you cannot yet post pictures, but please take photo's of both sides of the coin and upload them to a site such as Imgur, and post the links here - we will be able to give you more accurate information then.
To answer:
a) Currently, around 1 BTC extra. Depends entirely on condition.
b) Yes, I would say that it being one of the first 100 would make it slightly more desirable to collectors - again, this depends entirely on condition, so pictures are needed.
That 1 BTC Casascius Silver Gilt is also worth around the 2 BTC mark ungraded. Again, pictures will be required here please.
Please come back with that info, and we will be happy to help further!
