Friends,

Please be aware of any messages from member "rat_sh".

This member sent me a PM stating "I replied to your post" with a link that shows a URL appearing to be a Bitcointalk.org forum thread. Upon clicking on the link the URL changes however a mock version of the forum log in page shows up. It tries to get you to log in. I didn't log in, but I'm sure if I had the would have logged my password and stolen my account.

A phishing site. Thanks OP.

A true internet guy can obviously noticed that the site is a phishing site. They know some basics about proper URL when vising a certain site. For a newbie, they can noticed that too but other newbies can simply follow the link if it was hidden and never will checked their URL address bar. Stay safe.

So bump for this and please be aware especially those newbies.

I have tagged the account as well.

HabBear, next time you need to post a scam accusation, please link the users account, instead of just naming it. Makes life a lot easier for us lazy folk who are resorted to doing a manual search Tongue

Account in question: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=221147

On another note, this seems to have been getting worse and worse over the course of the last ~week or so. Everyone be wary, always hover above any link first to ensure you are being forwarded to a legitimate URL. For those on mobile phones, do a long press on the link, so it pops up and shows you where you are being directed to.

You should be fine as long as you did not type anything in.

I'd still do a full scan of your system to be on the safe side. You never know.

I've tagged the account but have you reported the PM to an admin?

The first thing I did was report the message to the Admins. No response back from them but I'm not really expecting one.

I've also posted here (next time I'll include user profile in the OP) and posted to the forum thread that was used as the trojan horse to let them know that they've been targeted as the bait. Finally, I just left the account negative trust...not that it matters, but at least it's on the record.

I'd still do a full scan of your system to be on the safe side. You never know.

Can you share tips on how to do this?

Are you telling me that you don't know how to do a simple virus/malware scan with the use of a program such as Kaspersky or Bitdefender? They are both classed as 2 of the best (if not the best) anti viruses out there. Not that cheap, but when you are involved with cryptocurrency, its a small price to pay.

What the f*ck...I literrally just got hit again from this account: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=69220

Account tagged.

Please keep reporting more messages by clicking "Report to Moderator" within the PM itself, so the account is nuked as soon as a mod sees it.
