i received bitcoins and its been hanging for days with many tx unconfirmed..

is there a way i can tell if one of the pending txs gets double spent(from my understanding, meaning that mine will never confirm)

Is there a tool etc for it?

blockchain.info will usually display a warning if there's something wrong with your transaction. Mind posting the transaction id, or running your transaction trough my feechecker? http://www.mocacinno.com/page/feechecker

This probably means you want a transaction to exist (with valid scripts - meaning it will not be rejected by the network).
Could you post the TX and the wallet you're using (as there may be a tool specific to that)?

Your transaction is: https://blockchain.info/tx/f20a0bc73152eb5a5c54bb9abc71631eba55abdd624cc6d55e3c0db69f2449b6
The following transactions has to confirm before your transaction is confirmed. The following transactions are:
https://blockchain.info/tx-index/249244430/1
https://blockchain.info/tx-index/249215083/1
https://blockchain.info/tx-index/249006563/0

https://blockchain.info/tx-index/248980590/0

From what I can tell, there isn't any competing transactions that spends the same input as any of the transactions. However, I would really think that its hard for your transaction to confirm given the amount of unconfirmed inputs that it was referenced from, with some of the fees being as low as 8 satoshi/byte. You should contact a miner to help you to mine the chain of transactions, probably not free though.

Blockchain.info will state "double spend" if another transaction with the same input is in their mempool.

I know macbook-air may have done it for people in the past but I'm not sure about transactions with so many unconfirmed parent. You can try contacting him: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=16114.

Quickseller also offers the service that macbook-air does. Or you could try to use viabtc per transaction to get them to be accelerated as that's free.

their fees are too low for viabtc..

someone should make a proper service to accelerate transactions even those with super low fees..

viabtc's txaccelerator is actually payed for by viabtc. I don't know why they do it... Maybe it's out of the goodness of their hearts, maybe it's politics, maybe it's to make a point,.. For every low fee transaction they accept, they cannot add a high-fee transaction to the block they're currently working on, so they're losing money on every submission you send.
Accepting transactions with an even lower fee would actually cost them even more. There are several services that accept even lower fee transactions, but they're not free, you actually have to pay for them. for example, https://pushtx.btc.com/#/ charges a high fee to add your low-fee (even 0 fee) transaction to the block they're working on. Quickseller and macbook-air are known to accept bounties to add low-fee transactions to f2pool blocks,...

I really like viabtc for what they're doing. They're providing a super service  to the community, but if i was in their shoes, i'd probably raise the minimum fee to accept low-fee transactions into my blocks (but i'm not that good of a person to begin with)

I answered this question in the previous post: https://pushtx.btc.com/#/ , Quickseller or macbook-air. All three even accept 0-fee transaction AFAIK, as long as the bounty you offer is high enough.

I can't find a transaction that double spends these inputs... However, it strikes me as odd that there are several of other transactions that depend on the output of this transaction, since both outputs have been used as inputs in a string of new (offcourse unconfirmed) transactions...

Also, most of these transactions seem to have 8 sat/byte fees!!!

Transactions that cannot be confirmed before this one is confirmed:

so what does this mean? what do you think happened or is happening.. this is basically why i created this thread to find out if theres a double spend somewhere..

I've edited the previous post... It looks like your transaction itself is relatively clean (the input it's using is coming from a confirmed transaction). offcourse, the fee is waaaaay to low (but you already knew this).
I couldn't find any double spends, but that doesn't mean they do not exist, merely that i couldn't find one. It's possible the input for this unconfirmed transaction was used in a second transaction, but this second transaction never reached blockchain.info???
Even if the input was double spent, it looks like the double spending transaction didn't make it in a block either, otherwise this transaction would be invalid.

The thing is, this whole unconfirmed outputs using as inputs for transactions with a 8 sat/byte fee tree is really not the proper way to do this. Some nodes will reject the transaction if the fee is this low, if a node receives a transaction using inputs that are not in it's utxo set (because a previous tx was rejected, or dropped from the mempool), it will also reject the new tx,...

Do you mind giving us some background? Is there an option to just wait a couple of days and start over, or maybe re-create this tree using the same initial input (in fact, double spending this input, but leaving a much higher fee)?

If you look at https://blockchain.info/tx/361e44dc8d1841168e0c2c5ee60fc65be149e7561897f7888d48ab4b5c84f2d3 it does look like both outputs have already been spent (altough the transactions are all unconfirmed). How did you do this, cause everything down the line is really messed up. Basically, all transactions you've made using the output of 361e44dc8d1841168e0c2c5ee60fc65be149e7561897f7888d48ab4b5c84f2d3 will remain unconfirmed untill 361e44dc8d1841168e0c2c5ee60fc65be149e7561897f7888d48ab4b5c84f2d3 is confirmed (maybe even longer).
Were this transactions between your own wallets?

Basically i paid for and received 12.584025 bitcoins in my blockchain, with this as the tx id> https://blockchain.info/tx/f20a0bc73152eb5a5c54bb9abc71631eba55abdd624cc6d55e3c0db69f2449b6

i paid someone locally and they sent me those coins and it shows up in my blockchain wallet but it also has 0 confirmations for days.

Im not bitcoin expert, but you seem to be.. based on what you're seeing what happened? i have only basic knowledge of coins

Well, if it were me, i'd stop everything i was doing and i'd go looking for the guy that sold me 12.584025 BTC (more than USD20.000 at current preev rate).
This guy has used a chain of unconfirmed inputs/outputs to create the tx paying you. Eventough your transaction has a very high fee, a lot of the unconfirmed transactions on which it depends have a substandard fee.
This is no way to sell somebody $20k worth of BTC. This is no way of doing business.

Just go back to this guy, ask him to either fix the transaction, give you your money back, or make him sign a legal paper detailing that he will pay you back if you don't receive your BTC in x hours/days...

Next time you buy BTC, either buy them trough a reputable escrow service like localbitcoins, on a reputable exchange like coinbase, or only hand over your money once the transaction is confirmed.
