We all know how terrorists love airplanes, so the best way how to escape from terrorists would be - travel by train !!! There are also express trains, which move quite fast, so terrorist problem is solved.

Seriously? Historically trains have been subjects of terrorism, when they were the most popular transport, and if they managed to blow up those trains in Madrid back in 2004 in the train station(supposedly secure) imagine how easily they can ambush or simply derail them while they're in transit.

Do you remember these? London 2005. One of the biggest terrorist attacks in Europe. Use a train, they said. It's safer, they said.

The only way you can avoid travelling with terrorists is by car, but even then you yourself might turn into a jihadist if you have a funny turn in traffic. And that's forgetting about one of them driving a 44 ton truck into your face.

The car is quite expensive so it will not solve the problem. People will still travel by public transport. Moreover, terrorists are committing terrorist acts not only in transport but in shops, theatres, temples,on the beaches and on the streets. You're not going to live in the car.

A train is easy to take over, without mention that everyone could hide a bomb in a train a wait till leave the station.

Yeah man, he's right. The fact that trains aren't subject to as tight of security as planes makes it so you are actually more likely to get fucked up on a train. While 911 was some bullshit, it was kind of a singular event. Terror happens much more frequently on other, more mundane types of transport, like buses. Or, sans vehicle, in the case of mosque explosions or the recent Europe vehicular homicide attacks (perpetrated with a vehicle, but the victims were pedestrians).

I am not so sure about the stats, but I assume that the probability of a terrorist attack happening is much higher in a train, when compared to a passenger jet. It is easier to carry out a terrorist attack in a train, as the number of passengers are more, and the security screening is not that tight.

Yes, terrorists can also travel in trains. And here it seems to me to penetrate them much easier than on an airplane.

Once per decade? Vast majority of humankind travels by public transportation system, not by planes. Yet, we are almost never witnessing these attacks. It might be, that planes are inherently more high profile targets. Even one man with grenade can kill everything aboard a plane and the news about it will go around the world. Derailed train? Nah.

Aircraft are still more popular for committing terrorist acts, because they are faster and they are used by many influential people who can be targeted.

Terrorist already attacked trains in the past, and also airplanes, buses, used trucks etc. So, there is no such thing as ''safe transport'' or ''safe place'' any more. Terrorists can attack in any place, at any moment. It's very serious and sensitive topic, so please be careful with your comments.

Your apocalyptic visions are not really supported by numbers either. Statistics readily show from where do terrorists come from, where do they attack often and how readily are locals responding.

Just thinking of all the train sabotage videos from WW2. Yes, so much safer than a plane indeed.

That's subway.
Isn't a subway an underground train? By analogy if it's possible to attack a subway, it's possible to attack a train. one of the biggest false flag operations disguised as terrorist attacks read more about the subject,I was living in London at the time and one of my friends was on that train (she got hit by the broken glass shards and was hospitalised) the thing is there was an oficial anti-terrorist drill by the police and guess what:at the EXACT day and time of the attack, announced days before hence the "brilliant" and timely reaction of all the services including the police, antiterrorist units,NHS etc. read more about it if you do not believe me but of course, trains and cars are much less safer to travel by than planes
on 9.11 there was also an air defense drill scheduled, but what does that tell us? That the police in London knew about the attacks? 52 people died. Who do you think killed them?

In our time it is not possible to hide from terrorists. When people talk about planes it seems to me that it is now the safest form of transport. Such controls as are passengers are no longer in any form of transport. But I'm afraid to fly and I'm ready to risk more on the train than to fly no terrorists on the plane.
