In my country you can't buy tickets with bitcoin, but there are proposals for renting apartments, but it is illegal proposals from individuals. I think that this situation is everywhere. Those proposals that will it will be only intermediaries.

There have been news about Japanese airlines and I even read somewhere on the internet about an Aussie airlines company starting to accept bitcoin but I guess those are just their future plans. Although there might be some agents who can arrange your travelling for bitcoin but that's something you will have to do research about locally or in your own place.

Last I checked, Expedia only accepted bitcoin for hotels (not for airfare).

When I was comparing airfare between the bitcoin sites and expedia, the bitcoin sites charged considerably more for the same flights.  It was much cheaper to sell the bitcoins first and then buy the tickets with USD.

There you go, business are probably trying to protect themselves in a case the value of the bitcoin falls and that is why they charge an higher price, it is a shame, but most of the time it is cheaper to just convert your coins to fiat and pay that way and enjoy the difference as a bonus.

Hello guys!

I just want to ask if there's an existing offer already that accepts bitcoins by purchasing airline tickets to a specific destination? I'm an adventure type of guy, just finished my vacation last Monday. I usually travel like 3 to 4 times a year locally by plane.

Any thoughts on this guys? Thanks in advance.

If you are a traveler then bitcoin payment is a hustle for you because you can encounter payments delay, you just can cast-out your bitcoin then to avoid hustle for your travel.

You probably can buy airline tickets with credit cards. There are credit cards that use Bitcoin, get one of them and you can spend Bitcoins and get tickets in return.

But I wouldn't now, with the same amount of Bitcoin you may travel the world in some years

That's a good advice btw.  Smiley Just think of it. Now you buy a ticket for $600 worth of BTC and couple of years from now you might think: "Wow, I spent $3,000 worth of BTC at the current rate on that ticket!"

You could be hit by a meteorite tomorrow. At some point you actually have to start enjoying your money. And I assume no one is going to spend their last BTC on a trip to nail ladyboys.

Well, you assume wrong, if to not take into account the last part of your sentence, which is obviously not the purpose of a trip for anyone, only for some maybe. $600 is a big money and many people, if not most people, have in their wallets less than that amount worth of BTC. So if they are planning to buy airline tickets with bitcoin, most likely that would take almost all they have.

abitsky.com is doing it already I think. I have never used them personally before but I am sure it is already in play. You can check and try them out. There should be some other platforms to achieve this as well hopefully.

It is a mistake to only bring one form of money to a trip, because you could easily suffer the consequences of something happening, like your cash being stolen, or your credit card being stolen as well, also your credit card could be blocked, so it is better to bring many forms of money.

That kind of service is not available yet but for sure, it will be there. just like other online services, we will be able to pay for tickets online by Bitcoin, what we need is to wait for that to come true.

It is available.

And it's not just limited to airline tickets either, you can even book your entire trip, hotels, everything included for bitcoin. For example, btctrip i think actually has bitcoin as its preferred payment method and you can book entire trips with it. Cheapair.com also accepts bitcoin, and so does expedia which is one of the biggest travel angencies that are out there operating worldwide.

If these services aren't available, you can always do a p2p transaction if someone wants to convert their fiat into bitcoin this way. So they book for you, and you just pay them bitcoin in return. Simple.

Anyone with positive experience with btctrip? Their website doesn't look professional... it lags with errors and can't do anything with them to go further for purchas because of "We apologize of the inconvenience. Our new web site and services will be up and running soon.

There are already those who provide online tickets using bitcoin the problem is limited. And also feared if we reservation / message online tickets kesultian at a price at any time the price on the bitcoin value decreased. Illustration like this, When we buy a ticket with a price of 1 BTC = 2585.04 USD on this day, and the next day 1 BTC = 2595.05 USD means the travel party suffered losses. So to open online ticket reservation by using Bitcoin is still small.

As of now,i haven't heard any news airline tickets paid with bitcoin.Maybe in some other places that case already exist. But if time will come bitcoin here can already buy plane tickets, then i would be very glad.At last i can travel and tour the world.
I think that after a long time bitcoin is popular in the world until then we can use bitcoin to pay for services not only pay for air tickets.

I think paying for air tickets with bitcoin is not ready yet. Currently no airfare is paid for by bitcoin. The price of bitcoin is not stable so the payment of bitcoin tickets is still difficult. In the future bitcoin can pay for air tickets, surely a lot of people will use it. Every transaction becomes easy

I don't know, never have used their service, but their site is already a bit old, I can track news about them since at least 2014. Seems legit, we just don't see many news about it because it's not a service used often yet and I don't think it will become popular so fast as most people just want to hold Bitcoins to make profit on long term.

Yes. You can buy air tickets by bitcoin. Currently, this ticket purchase has been accepted in some countries and has its own website, as in Japan.

No wonder that Japan is the first airline that accepts bitcoin.  Maybe there would be some additional charge because of course the government would not allow that there would be no tax.  Terminal fee maybe paid with cash.  But atleast having some country that accepts bitcoin as airline fare would be a start for other countries to include bitcoin as a mode of payment for airfare.

I believe there is/are. Days ago, I have read a thread in this forum that the airline in Japan started accepting Bitcoin as payment. This is their way of utilizing Bitcoin, to accept it in different line of business. I am not certain if there are other airlines that accept Bitcoin as payment for purchasing airline tickets.

As far as I know, at present, in some parts of the world, bitcoin has been accepted as an official currency, it can be used for life, so if you want to buy bitcoin airfare I think it is very feasible.

Seem, i've heard about this, i'm not sure...  If I remember correctly, it was a Japanese airline that accepted btc. Please be assured that in the future in the next few years there will be many airlines using such btc, not only that,  many other services will also use btc in the transaction and of course not only in the United States or Japanese but in many parts of the world. I think it is inevitable. ..
