Is the shipping cost set in stone? I might be interested in 50 chips or so, but I'm not if I have to pay $1/chip to ship 6 ounces to Canada.
I have updated the shipping chart to include Canada. Note: Some of the shipping fees have changed. Orders under 50 will fit in a smaller box, and orders over 500 will have to use the largest box. Express shipping fees are the same regardless of box size.

Do you know what the packaging of the QFN chips themselves is? (e.g. Tape & Reel, Cut Tape, Tray)

I do not. That question would best be directed to one of the board developers.

I meant one of the opensource devs though the info will prolly be available when Avalon releases it's specs, which should be "early May"

I'd guess a 12mm (maybe 16mm) T&R, with an 8mm pitch and 2,500 devices per 13" reel.

Probably a simple question I'm missing:
what is a TX ID that is to be sent in the e-mail?

When you send or receive bitcoins, a transaction ID number is generated. You can view this with the bitcoin-qt software by right clicking on the transaction found in the transactions tab, and clicking view transaction details. Alternatively, you can go to blockchain.info and enter your sending address in the search box and hitting enter, which will bring up all the transactions made with that address.

Shipping and any extra fees will be due upon my receipt of the chips and prior to shipment to final destination.

I'm very interested in buying a block of 500 chips, contingent on demonstrating a working PCB / Product.

This is for chips only. I am working with developers and getting quotes for fab and assembly, but I do not in any way guarantee it will be finished before the chips get here. I'm very interested in buying a block of 500 chips, contingent on demonstrating a working PCB / Product.
I can just about guarantee the batch will be sold out by then, but duly noted.

Do you think you'll be sending any chips to Burnin for assembly? Perhaps there could be a group rate if there a few chips going that way.

I am fine with giving group rate shipping for those that would like to have their chips shipped to a dev. In the event multiple ppl want to ship to burnin, I will package them all together and divide it by the number of chips bought per person to get the discounted shipping rate.

Hey steamboat,
Any status on your funded development efforts? Any preliminary plans for density? I'm thinking about ordering some more chips and am curious about how your plans compare to burnin? Will your board assembly take place in the USA?
Thanks,
-Jay

Hey Jay, Yes, we are moving along quite nicely with board dev. I am not willing to give any initial numbers yet. Preliminary density is between 10-16 chips per board, depending on which design we go with. Board assembly is being sourced oversees and in the US, depending on lead time. Assembly will be taking place in the US as time is of the essence once the chips arrive.
