I've considered it, but I've decided not to for numerous reasons. The biggest one is that I don't know everyone, especially in Local sections/sections I don't frequent, and I don't want to primarily PM people who I actively talk with/see around.

Sending PMs that way might cause reports if someone don't like you, and you might be temporary banned (as I know of). I am not sure there are ones will report if receive your PMs to join ChipMixer campaign, but it is life and there are always some odds for that.

Anyway, would you mind giving me a few words on my post quality, please.
Can I have chances in the campaign next rounds?

And if you can share ones are in your final list before taking out the last 3 above, it will make sense, give them higher hope for next rounds.
Things change for each round, from each applicant' issues and from other applicants in the same round, but it is a proud and motivation to know being in your final list.

I don't like waiting lists either because there's always going to be some variation of people who I think should be accepted into the campaign and I don't want to pass on someone "better" because someone slightly worse but still acceptable was earlier on the list.

Thanks for applying everyone. It was extremely difficult deciding on the final 3-4 people which is why it took so long. If you weren't accepted, it doesn't mean that you're posts were bad. There were just so many good applicants and I had to narrow it down.

Everyone have applied here with an exception including me. But bad luck for me. However, trying to improve my posting quality & behavior and I will not give up.....

      

While we're on this topic: For those interested in joining the campaign, would you rather have more frequent openings of single slots, or slightly less frequent openings but with multiple spots open?

I will prefer open with multiple spot for future, it will save your time and reduce pressure for selection process.

I would agree. I think you'll get roughly the same amount of applicants whether your have one slot or several and it's probably a lot harder to pick one than a handful so save yourself sometime and hassle and just do them in batches.

I totally back the idea to open 2-4 slots every now and then for the aforementioned reasons.

You should just PM people you want in the campaign. Not that its a hassle to apply, but you'd probably save yourself a lot of time that way.

This is actually not allowed and would put anyone who does this at risk of getting banned.

Quite frankly, judging by the number of good posters that apply, there is a humongous supply vs demand gap here in particular and signature campaigns in general. I have to admit that it does look more and more like this train has left a long time ago..

Sending PMS to those you want will remove the fun in the Chipmixer campaign process.

I do imagine that it would be tough knowing that there are a lot of people applying. 90+ applications and you only have to pick four, that’s really slim. If I have to choose between the two choices I would choose the multiple spots open because the chances of that being chosen would be significantly higher compared to single slot.

With the quality I saw of applicants he could have thrown darts at the list and made good choices.. This may as well have been a list of the best BTCT posters that aren't yet in ChipMixer, looking at the stats LoyceV provided..  Some very old good standing accounts, some famous accounts (enough to be accepted immediately), and some very well merited accounts..

It looks like CM/DS are still looking for good local boards posters, and more posters in more technical boards, which is likely a wise move for them..

Let's see this from two sides. One from your (DS) side and another from my(us applicants) side.

DS side:
Opening with multiple slots is less work for you. You will not need to review 100+ applications to find one user every time.

My side (us applicants):
Being with ChipMixer will be a next level of experience.
Not sure about others but when I see an opening for ChipMixer I feel excitement with thinking that YES this time I am going to make it! And so far no luck. Sometimes I feel bad for myself not to identify the ingredients that I am missing to be accepted. This feeling of excitement and ending with bad emotion is something that can not be realized if you do not experience it. I kinda like it. So from my side opening for a single slot is much more fun although it's more work for you.

Summary:
If you want less hassle then go for an opening with multiple slots and if you want us to feel the excitement of having an opening slot then go with one single slot every-time whenever available. :-D

You could just as easily argue the opposite. Having several slots open up is arguably more exciting than just the one. The likelihood of a user being the chosen one out of all the participants is very low and you'll roughly get the same amount of applicants whether there's one slot or several so the more slots the better the odds and the more chance of you having a slot. It just makes it fairer and easier on Darkstar as well as there's always going to be several worthwhile candidates and it's easier to chose a shortlist rather than just the one.
