So I bought some alts a couple of days ago, Ripple, Nem, Decred, Maid. And as the bitcoin bubble has popped, every alt has felt it, down considerable amount in the past couple of days.
So my question to all like me who have invested at the wrong time is, are we not stuck with these alts for long? Because I don't see a climb up so quickly, so either we sell and lose, or we wait for an unknown length of time.
What are you going to do?

No one can tells you this with great certainty, but i presume this is only one cycle, and i believe it will continue instantly with Bitcoin new hype.. Try to stay calm and wait if you can, if not then sell and buy back lower,  it will bounce back eventually and you can exit at some point. I will place my buy orders and i will try to catch low. My bags will become even larger.

You can't blame these alts to be honest , as they were made as an additional to bitcoin. If you see in real life also there is ruby , diamond , sapphire , etc people do purchase them but at end of the day only the price of gold is taken into consideration. Same way for bitcoin , you should use alts only for trading or even for short term investment at end of the day no matter how much the price increased bitcoin is the best and the future for now

You have 2 choices.

1)Pull out your money with losses or maybe even a small profit if you invested smart.

2)Wait and sit it out, since the next pump/hype/raise will definitely come.

Second choice is way smarter, but your money is in until then. I'd recommend not selling like all the other hyperventilating idiots that cause the crash and hold if you don't need the money now or even buy in if you have spare money. Think in bigger cycles. Be smart if you want to make money and don't get nervous.

If you have faith in the long-term value and utility of these coins, then don't refresh the price charts every five minutes. Volatility is normal. Forget the charts and hold.

Alternatively, if you have the skills to exploit a volatile market, then you should sell at peaks and re-buy at troughs, and switch back and forth between different coins or coins and fiat. Obviously it is difficult to time this right, and easy to make a loss.

I'm in long-term, and anyway I suspect I wouldn't have the skills to make a profit as a short-term trader, plus I can't spare the time to continuously assess the market. So I hold.

If you have to look at the charts, then zoom out to 90 days or more to get a better perspective.

I think everything has happened with you, if I think personally you better keep altcoin that you have bought at the time and play for long term, if you do not want to get big loss. I'm sure the Bitcoin bubble that ever happened will be deflated in the next few weeks. Well, you can sell your altcoin at that time.

just hold it's a price correction on everything, these global increase was not sustainable because too much money were invested and now they are taking their profit, understand the different between being a bagholders and being someone that is holding for a greater return, if you dump now because of fear, you will lose your confidence for the future and your possible profit, the coins you are holding are strong coins, they can't die anytime soon

Think of it this way..

What happens when the entire scene are investors and there are no currency adopters ?

Is it really a "Currency" you are invested in ?

..or a pyramid scheme ?

nobody is stuck with anything as long as they stay alive and you stick around for long enough.

if you'd loaded up on alts at the start of 2015 you would've been a multi millionaire for a $5000 outlay. i don't think many people here would've had what it takes to wait that long.

there'll be more greater fools along some day.

OP, what you have invested your money into are not some shitty, shady, pump dump coins. You got a reasonably good portfolio there. Such coins have development, goals, roadmap, and adopted by the community (somehow). Those coins are good investments on the long run.

dump them as fast as you can whenever you see a price drop and get the hell out. unless you want to lose a lot of money.

as far as altcoin market is concerned you should only invest in them when they are rising not after the rise reached its max and then past that max! by then you will only experience the dumps.

if you want to risk it then sell now and buy back if you saw a rise again. not any other way.

Yeah we are bagholders for now, but the market can change quickly it could just as easily drop another 50% as it could double in value. So its your choice to sell at a loss or hold waiting for better times and its not an easy choice to make for any of us.

right, but who the hell can say that the max is reached before the correction/dump will happen? )))

You should decide before you invest if the coin you are going to purchase are for long term and short term, there are coins for short term and there are for long term, and you can make profit from both options but you of course needs to differentiate coins for long term and for short term usually coins that are in the top 20 are for long term and those ico coins are are for short term.

VERY VERYYYYYY few invest long term and if they do it's because they are in on the scam coin launch.
Ripple or Monero etc etc where they print free money to themselves.. or buy for virtually nothing.
So there is no real risk.
Unlike YOU.. who showed up years later to buy each one of their shitty gay ass pointless scheme coins for massively inflated prices.

Of course the idiots mentioned above are going to say "one day"

Maidsafe ?
ICO ?
"one day ?"

Same old same old.
The price of shitcoins is irrelevant.
What matters is how it all works.
Which doesn't change.

Stupid & greedy ? Good luck with that.  Cheesy

Know where i got the term "Investards" from ? my ole buddy Gammy  Grin
He's been warning you all about a slew of these scammy ass services for ages.
Ever heard of Stakeminers ?

Here check out this quote from the other day from page 118..
(it's free money for them) they lie and you pay them.. simple.
Why ?
Because Scheme coin idiots are Investarded.. low hanging crypto-fruit.

If only someone was around at the beginning to ask how doing whatever voodoo he was going to do would be better than just sitting on BTC the whole time.

Investards did, but Leroy Fodor easily convinced them that handing over their bitcoins to him so to stake PoS altcoins that he spent 100s of hours vetting before including them in StakeMiners' portfolio because he's a Forex Guru having over 380 successful trades under his belt was a better investment than simply sitting on bitcoins with a hope and a prayer.

Currently, I'm trying to school them assholes over at the Qtum thread that something's seriously afoot, but now getting resistance from sockpuppets in spite of Bitcoiners more trustworthy than I echoing my sentiments.

You are not alone. All we can do is to hold that coin.. Never attempt to sell it. It will give you more loss. Just wait for bitcoin to reach its previous price.. Wait for the altcoin to retrace its value. Then everything will work fine.

So I bought some alts a couple of days ago, Ripple, Nem, Decred, Maid. And as the bitcoin bubble has popped, every alt has felt it, down considerable amount in the past couple of days.
