Amazing, just read all the topic.

If you were a student you will understand what i am saying. To get a 5 it is more difficult than a 10. When you took a 5, you understand the subject and it is not such a big bullshit anymore.

The road from understanding to be good at it is so small.

The same with 10k-1kk. Good luck! Don't forgive me Wink

Perhaps not exactly "trading", but it just might be one of the shortest time frame investments you'll ever make.  Wink

How about a portfolio competition?

Using today’s price to establish opening position cost basis, the following portfolio has a minimum target of $100,000 (if everything goes wrong) and a maximum (still conservative) target of $1,000,000. (Explaining the reasons why goes beyond the scope of this friendly competition.)

Litecoin (LTC) – 50%
BitShares (BTS) – 10%
STEEM (STEEM) – 10%
Syscoin (SYS) – 10%
Nxt (NXT) – 10%
PIVX (PIVX) – 5%
NEM (XEM) – 5%

We’ll see how it does. Wish me luck!

Full Disclosure: I currently hold many of these issues as “long term” investments (but not all at this exact time since I’m still looking for a better entry on one in particular), and could purchase or sell any, at any time, and/or trade short term as well, with the weighting for this “model” portfolio being somewhat different from my own, where, for example, I am currently overweight LTC, BTS and PIVX.

Edit: Forgot one very small detail at the time: the price of Bitcoin. It's highlighted on the 5 min chart below.

Same portfolio. No changes. Will always update here if and when.

If I had more dry powder to invest here, I certainly would have bought more. These kinds of sell-offs are gifts to those who still haven't positioned.

Thank you for sharing your strategy! I'm curious how this plays out and I wish you best of luck.

I was wondering aren't you worried that Litecoin will just decrease in value in long term? Looking at the zoomed out chart doesn't look great:

I have the same long term concern about LTC. Two things pointing towards a possible trend change though are the massive increase in volume on the most recent rally, and the RSI holding above 40 on this last sell-off. And with things turning higher again we're getting some breathing room to see what happens next. I want to see at least a rally up to .02000000. Let's see if we get that and what the market tells us.

That's a general rule:

When everything is going well, every well-known altcoin outperforms bitcoin.

When the situation got reversed, it will be the exact opposite. Bitcoin will still have a decent trading volume/demand but no matter how good was the other alts before, they'll just hibernate themselves till another hype season begins.

Hint: We are in a hype season.

Well Done buddy i do not know if you will achieve your goal, but i do believe that 100B market cap for a market like this is just stupid low.

The makets where crypto can have a fantastic impact are many, payments, cloud computing, ads and many many more and those marked has trilions of $ in capitalization

So i am pretty sure that in 5y time we will be having a complete different senario in wich many coins will be well over 100B in market cap and most of them will be coin that dont even exist now.

I personaly think btc will not be among them since like history tell us the first are almost never the one that ultimatly succede look at myspace, look at flickr look at netscape all company dead or dying because they can not keep up with the new boys in the market.
And i like your choise of LTC instead that from my point of view has a far better tech and a far better overall situation

And i believe btc is doing well in preparing the road for the 2nd and 3rd generation of coins, but as i said sooner or later will concieve.

And it makes think when someone write "when the Alt bubble explore only the BTC remain" that is such an uneducated and uninformed sentence, there are already probably 100+ coins with much better tech than BTC, for wich reason those coin should implode if they have a great team a great idea and a great tech behind ?

For sure many will fail but some will make it big time.

There are so many super smart umans out there that did not approce crypto yet that the potentials are insane, when that much IQ will poor into, and it will sooner or later.

And from this point of view i did pretty much the same thing u did.

I had a fantastic run with BTC investing 30k$ in early 2013 and now i have 80% of the money in Eth / Etc / ltc and the rest in like 10-12 other coins i like and i think might have a bright future.

I was thinking not to post just to avoid this kind of troll my bad, for sure u made milions with crypto sorry if i dare saying my opinion and thanks for not arguing your point of view.

I will thank him forever for the run he got me in from 7$ish (6 december 2016 my entry point) but if you believe it is a scam then fine.

oh well that's a good ath if ltc is concern mate if we see this happen will be able to see more and the rally will surely start from this point, many speculation but one thing is for sure ltc will rise up and it will happen this year so better to hold and see.

Let him lick ETH for now. Seeing the price of ETH going ATH and almost capturing markets from bitcoin is not good for bitcoin ecosystem. But as far as turning $10K to 1m, I think its possible but it will take you years to accomplished this. Plus you need a lot of luck and not lose all your investment otherwise you will not reach your goal of 1m.

You are getting nice results so far.
Hope you succeed in your goal, although it seems quite far away, but not impossible. I think I would try my luck in some more unknown coins, but off course that would be a high risk losing all you got.

What if your candlestick lie to you in the near future? Would that be still your target to go from 1k to 1 million dollars in the future. I am guessing this is dangerous chance to count on the markets you have elected. I am not saying the markets are are bad, what I mean with my statement is it is risky to carry out analysis with such small data. The chart is ok, it is showing prices dumping and a good opportunity seems to be coming up with the time. The swing trading is good for small period of time where you buy and sell with low and high strategy. It would be ridiculous idea to do that for very long period. FYI: bitcoin is different and self condemned which will rise in its own value and other coins are irrespective of it.

Hmm, now I also see that ltc experience a decrease in trading. However it did not close the possibility that in the future the ltc can be a giant cryptocurrency as bitcoin, it all could have happened if indeed we want to see every or insight that exists therein. For every cryptocurrency created according to the needs of a person, just beginning to renew all things science and upgrades

I had the screenshot, but I didn't get the trade off and I'm feeling a little shitty about that now. Nothing big, just minor profit taking and a minor portfolio rebalancing. Nonetheless, it hurts because it was due to a bad decision. I tried to get a little too cute and the market went fast and got away and I didn't sell and wasn't willing to sell at a lower price. If I had left my original offer in place, I would have been filled.  Angry  No big deal if you're trading with the trend as you'll usually be forgiven - I expect LTC to move to much higher highs. So the only thing I have to show for it is the opportunity to show you I'm just a normal guy and another lesson about how important it is to follow your rules.

If I were looking to buy back, which I'm obviously not, these would be the levels.

https://i.imgur.com/f9L2NIS.jpg

Edit: It looks like profit taking across the board selling ALTs and buying fiat. It doesn't look like BTC is affected. That's the good news. BTC is our best salesperson. Smiley

Getting a little long in the tooth here?

My first post so please be kind!  A good friend of mine at work mentioned he was in this trading market so I decided to "jump in" with an initial investment of $10K (with $1K already in GMT/LSK; $3K in LTC and the rest in BTC that I want to use to purchase shares of "A", "B" and "C" to build a long-term portfolio).

He bought into ETH when it was at $11 so he is very happy with his investment.

Given my initial investment is equal to this thread subject, I wanted to post and ask where is the best places to learn what/where is best to place money into?  If there are some links, advice, etc..., I would greatly appreciate any feedback as I am not naive and realize my $10K may never increase and may indeed decrease to zero but I'm all in for the mid-to-long term.

Thank you!!!!
