HR, Im curious if you or anyone else sees a 'melt-up' towards the next BTC fork where everyone dumps alts and buys BTC until the deadline then jumps back into alts later.

I'm not betting on it, but that's what I said last time and I missed out. Judging by what we're seeing right now, it looks like a lot of folks are jumping on that trade though. Again, it looks too obvious, but that's what I said last time. I'm sticking with my strategy, which I think will pay off long term - last thing I want to do is get sucked into getting turned upside down and getting my head handed to me.

Selling your alts then buy back after the hard fork will be just your biggest mistake. Instead, stick to your coins and do nothing. Just calm down. All you just need to do is to secure your coins in a hardware wallet even though there's no advise but better be sure than sorry.

For me, being easy means one would have worked out a way to making it easy. As you said, it would have been a great determination and hard work. On the contrary, I think time is important in this business. The higher level would have made their different sacrifices and invested there time too. Also talking about $10,000 into 1million has to also do with time, it is not automatic.

Yeah, looks like those active in altcoins are in for a rough ride in the coming weeks. I re-entered the cryptomarket myself a week ago (although on a much, much smaller scale compared to you) and am already down 15% or so. Chances are your next graph is going to show some sort of 'nosedive' ... However, alts are probably going to recover after the hardfork. Are you planning to buy a portion of BTC after the hardfork? I can imagine it can make your portfolio less prone to fluctuations in the altcoin-market. I'm too chicken myself to dive entirely into alts again tbh.

That is true. Traders know which strategy and which advantage they can gain from different kinds of coin. And, to them, I believe that it is easy to make money and x10 their balance in less than a year. They have spent a lot of time to learn about the market and now, the only thing they do is to analyze the charts and make money from the market's activity. In my country, I have seen many traders succeeding in making money from bitcoin trading. Most of them spend more than 6 months to learn trading

I can imagine it can make your portfolio less prone to fluctuations in the altcoin-market. I'm too chicken myself to dive entirely into alts again tbh. Not too much of a nosedive since everything's valued in BTC - the rise in BTC cancels out a good part of the decline in Alts, so the end result USD change is not all that negative considering the wholesale selling going on. Here's a special update with what the portfolio looks like in real-time (10 minutes ago). https://i.imgur.com/XhWhkGr.jpgHere's another way of looking at LTC in USDT terms on Poloniex, for example: https://poloniex.com/exchange#usdt_ltcThat's a lot different looking than the LTC-BTC chart: https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_ltcThe real problem begins when BTC reverses lower. If the main thing powering BTC is Altcoin proceeds right now, and that's not good news for BTC. If Alts continue lower in combination with a decline in BTC, then we'll have to start talking about something a lot more serious. In any event, I will hold. @hous26, Yes I'm watching ARK too, but, like you, I'm in no hurry, and I'll be looking to rebalance BTS and ADA first. This is not any fun at all, but it's part of the "game". That's why we only invest what we can afford to lose. Got to be able to ride out the storm.

Quick mid-week update with the portfolio's current weightings (you'll also notice that I picked up a little GRS as I wanted to include another viable long shot, if you can say that without it being an inherent contradiction - skimmed a small equal percentage off of all the rest of the holdings to raise the funds). ADA 23.78% STEEM 23.50% SYS 19.62% BTS 19.55% SBD 5.16% NLG 4.49% GRS 2.12% DGB 1.78% When I look at the Bittrex order book, I think I still might be a little overweight ADA. That's $3,500,000 worth offered below .00000620! But this is long term . . . https://i.imgur.com/9jfLncW.jpg

I think the weakest link in this portfolio is STEEM, it's a deliberately diluted coin to force its owners to trade it for SBD and Steem power, a very shaky and flimsy way to build any business or brand value... Steem always struck me as a very promising project executed very poorly...

Latest graph looks surprisingy good considering alts have generally been wrecked in the past week. Looks like you've sold a bunch of Steem and bought more ADA? It appears the value of ADA has increased with around 20% since your previous update so this was probably a good call. Squeezing out a sizeable profit with a 100% altcoin portfolio in the past week is quite an achievement I gotta say!

What is your planning with HF which will be begin on Oct 25th, HR? Would you sell your alts and then buy back these alts again after HF happened?

It looks good HR, I am surprised I missed this thread as I am normally on the lookout for such. Quick question if you don't mind answering, are your profits from the bitcoin you hold? and what percentage do you attribute to the alts? What happened to your Litecoins? apologies, as I read only this page and the 1st page.

I've been following this challenge from the beginning and keep on hoping you succeed. Anyway, I was wondering whether you have any plans of taking at least some of the profit at some point and walking away, or will you keep it all in cryptos and risk it all on your way to the million?
